Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: The Salvation Accord

[Name: The Salvation Accord]

[Designation: Δ-PE-1999]

[Threat Level: Maximum]

[Containment Measures: Continuous observation. Prohibit proactive contact or interference. Maintain an information barrier.]

[Record:

Discovery: Its existence was first revealed by PO-743 via a key line in the Book of Prophecy: "The world shall be remade in flames."

Target Location: Found at ████ coordinates. Initial state presented as a severely decayed, rigid male humanoid corpse, yet retaining intact intelligence and clear communicative ability. Self-identified as Eisen.

Psychological Assessment: Confirmed by SA-265 (Psychologist) through deep diagnostic evaluation: the subject exhibited severe symptoms of "loss of existential purpose" and "collapse of self-continuation drive." The core consciousness was on the verge of dissolution.

Accord Signing: The Bureau's senior representative ████ reached an agreement with the subject under ████ witnesses.

Core Terms: Eisen must, after the extinction of the primary body of human civilization in 1999, use his unique method to reshape the world back to the time-point of the accord's signing ████. He must record all key event data throughout the process; once the rewind is complete, the data is to be delivered to the Bureau.

Effect: Upon activation of the accord, the subject's physiological condition reversed noticeably. The mummification process halted and showed significant repair; surface tissues recovered to normal human bioactivity levels.

Associated Entity: As Eisen's physiological state stabilized, related entity Δ-PE-1999-1: Fire Keeper manifested within a five-meter radius of him. See attached file Δ-PE-1999-1 for detailed analysis.]**

The woman's slender fingers flew across the virtual keyboard, adding the latest observation entry beneath the description:

[Update Log: The Humanity Index of Δ-PE-1999 is showing a sustained, non-linear, significant increase.

This is the first severe fluctuation since the Salvation Accord was signed and executed—341 standard years ago.

This phenomenon began approximately one week ago and continues to intensify.

During today's observation window, the Humanity Index reached a new peak.]**

[Observer: B-ce5482 will continue monitoring this state change and its potential impacts.]

Entry complete. Upload confirmed.

She lowered her arms. The tablet screen dimmed automatically.

She did not leave at once. Instead, she stood quietly near the spot where Eisen had vanished, gazing out through the floor-to-ceiling window at the steel jungle beyond.

On her calm face, a trace of worry crept into her brows—almost imperceptible.

As one of the very few in the Bureau unaffected by cognition-overlay interference—someone who knew Eisen's true identity and the Salvation Accord—and as the only long-term observer maintaining stable contact with him… she couldn't help but think too much.

Had the accord already begun?

Had humanity already gone extinct, and the world already been remade in flame?

After all, to deal with that so-called "God," the Bureau had been forced to establish a so-called Hero Association, pushing the supernatural into the public sphere.

And what would the future bring?

She drew a deep breath and forced down the turbulence of her thoughts.

Her duty was simple: to observe faithfully, and to record.

Her eyes sharpened, professional again. She gave the empty chair one last look, turned, and left the office. The door shut soundlessly behind her; the crisp tapping of high heels echoed through the empty corridor.

Warm, gentle light replaced the Bureau office's cold white glow.

Eisen's figure coalesced from illusion to reality in the center of the living room. Golden mist receded like a tide, leaving behind only a faint, strange scent in the air—like old leather scrolls that had been burned.

"Welcome home, ashen one. / 欢迎回家,灰烬大人."

A clear, tranquil female voice rang out, carrying an unusual cadence.

Eisen looked up.

The Fire Keeper rose from the window-side armchair and offered him a small, respectful bow.

She no longer wore the signature dark gray gown of Firelink Shrine.

A soft, off-white knit sweater wrapped her upper body, the cuffs casually rolled to reveal slender wrists.

On the lower half, fitted light-blue jeans traced the line of long legs.

The delicate, cold silver blindfold still covered her eyes firmly.

She was still barefoot, pale feet stepping directly on the polished wooden floor.

"Mm."

Eisen answered simply and took off his slightly restrictive coat.

The Fire Keeper nodded faintly and moved in silence to take it from him.

As she walked barefoot, a chain of misty footprints appeared on the wood.

Eisen went to the sofa and sank into the soft backrest.

After putting away his coat, the Fire Keeper moved silently into the open kitchen, picked up the kettle with practiced ease, and set it to heat. A faint hum began.

"The chat group… changed a bit."

In a calm, even tone, Eisen briefly recounted the new functions unlocked after the chat group's upgrade, the members' discussion, and the memory restoration.

The Fire Keeper listened quietly as she poured hot water into the pot where tea leaves had already been placed.

She asked no questions—only occasionally tilting her head slightly, a wordless sign she was listening closely.

Steam rose, blurring the edges of her silver blindfold. The clean fragrance of tea spread through the air.

She set a cup of hot tea gently on the coffee table in front of Eisen, the liquid clear.

Then she sat quietly on the nearby armchair, hands folded atop her legs—an impeccable listener.

When Eisen finished, he picked up the cup and casually poured the scalding tea into his mouth.

Then he set the cup down and purchased the "subgroup" permission.

A brand-new chat interface appeared, displayed side-by-side with the main group.

The two interfaces were nearly identical, except the subgroup had an extra Settings button, and the member list was lonely—containing only one name:

Group Leader: Eisen.

The subgroup's name was [Chat Group Subgroup 1].

It seemed that because he could purchase an unlimited number of subgroups, each one was simply numbered.

He opened subgroup settings. A list of permissions unfolded before his eyes.

"Subgroup leaders really do get a lot of authority," he murmured, scrolling through lines of explanatory text with his fingertip.

"Hide member list—so members won't know who else is in the group."

"Suppress system prompts—so they won't see check-in point notifications, and won't know they contributed points."

"Freely change nicknames…"

After reading through them, he shook his head.

None of it mattered to him. He had no intention of pulling anyone from this world into his subgroup—except the Fire Keeper.

"All right."

After finishing the basic settings, he raised his head again, his gaze settling on the Fire Keeper.

Almost simultaneously, a light-screen window appeared in the Fire Keeper's dark vision:

[Eisen invites you to join Chat Group Subgroup 1]

[Yes / No]

The Fire Keeper tilted her head slightly, a strand of silvery-gray hair slipping down from her shoulder.

She glanced at the floating screen, then looked toward Eisen—as if silently confirming.

Then she raised her right hand, extended a slender index finger, and tapped the virtual button labeled [Yes].
