Chapter 29 - Episode 29 – The Kidnap Attempt

The city was cloaked in darkness, but the tension in Sasmita's room was almost suffocating.

She crouched behind her bedroom curtain, gripping the earpiece Srikant had given her. Every sound—the creak of the floorboards, the rustle of the wind, distant dog barks—made her flinch. Her heart pounded as if it wanted to escape her chest.

Her phone buzzed. Unknown number.

"You cannot hide forever… tonight, the Queen will understand the King's limits."

Sasmita's hands shook. She dialed Srikant immediately.

"Sasmita… stay calm. Lock every door. Don't open it for anyone. I'm tracking every movement near your house. Follow my instructions exactly," Srikant said, voice calm but sharp.

"I… I feel like he's right outside," she whispered, panic clawing at her chest.

"You're not alone. I'm almost there. Stay hidden. Trust me," he replied.

Outside, a black SUV glided silently through the misty streets. Men in masks leapt out, moving toward her home with deadly precision. Every motion was calculated—these were not ordinary intruders.

Srikant's voice came sharply through the earpiece:

"Stay behind the sofa. Don't move. I'll guide you out."

Sasmita pressed herself flat against the wall, barely breathing. The front door rattled under the masked men's attempts to break in. Fear clawed at her chest.

From the roof, a drone hovered, its faint light revealing the silhouettes of the intruders. Srikant had thought of everything.

"Do not panic. Follow my instructions. I'll get you out safely," he whispered.

Within minutes, Srikant arrived, leaping from his SUV like a shadow. He neutralized the first two intruders silently, then scanned the area for Vikram.

Vikram emerged from the darkness, smirk in place, eyes glinting with malice.

"You think hiding her will save her?" he taunted. "She's mine to test."

Srikant stepped forward, every muscle tense, eyes blazing.

"She's mine to protect. You won't touch her," he said firmly.

The street erupted into chaos. Shadows clashed with gunfire, men shouted, and dust filled the night air. Srikant moved like a phantom, shielding Sasmita while disarming Vikram's men with deadly precision. Every strike revealed the lethal King behind the loving facade.

"You love her too much," Vikram sneered. "And that love… will be your weakness."

"No," Srikant growled. "Love is my strength. And it will protect her—always."

Suddenly, a hidden explosive detonated in the street. Smoke and debris filled the area. Sasmita pressed herself against Srikant, terror and adrenaline coursing through her veins.

"Stay close," he whispered. "Trust me. I'll handle everything."

Vikram vanished into the shadows again, leaving a single note pinned to Sasmita's door:

"The Queen will face the King's world… alone."

Sasmita trembled in Srikant's arms. "I… I don't want to lose you," she whispered.

"You won't," he replied firmly. "I promise. No one will ever touch you while I'm breathing."

The night seemed calm again, but tension hung like a storm cloud.

Srikant's mind raced. Vikram was patient, ruthless, and clever. He would strike again—bolder, more dangerous. But Srikant had a plan—a high-risk, all-or-nothing counterattack that could finally trap Vikram and end the threat once and for all.

Sasmita rested against him, breathing shaky but trusting him completely.

"Once you're on this Love Train," Srikant whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her face, "there's no turning back. And love… is the only thing that will keep you alive."

Outside, Vikram's eyes glimmered from afar, calculating his next bold strike. Patient, cunning, and merciless, he was determined to separate Srikant from Sasmita.

Inside, Srikant held Sasmita close, shielding her from danger. The Love Train had passed another dark station, but the journey was far from over.

The next station promised a test of courage, love, and trust beyond anything they had faced
