Chapter 26 - Episode 26 – The Kidnapping Attempt

The night was silent, but Sasmita's heart raced like thunder.

She sat by her bedroom window, staring at the empty street, the earpiece Srikant had given her pressed tightly in her ear. Every shadow seemed alive. Every whisper of the wind made her flinch. She could feel the tension thick in the air, as if something was about to happen.

Her phone buzzed. Unknown number.

"Tonight… the Queen will understand the King's limits."

Sasmita's hands shook. Her chest tightened. She dialed Srikant immediately.

"Sasmita… stay calm. Lock every door. Don't open for anyone," Srikant's voice was calm but edged with steel. "I'm tracking all movement near your house. Do exactly what I say."

"I… I feel like he's right outside," she whispered, panic rising.

"You're not alone. I'll be there. But you must follow my instructions exactly. Trust me," he replied.

Outside, a black SUV moved silently through the misty streets. Men in masks stepped out, moving toward her home like shadows. Their movements were precise and coordinated—this was no ordinary attack.

Srikant's voice came sharply through her earpiece. "Stay behind the sofa. Don't make a sound. I'll guide you."

Sasmita pressed herself against the wall, holding her breath. The front door rattled as one of the men tried to force it open.

From the roof, a small drone hovered, its faint light illuminating the intruders. Srikant had thought of every detail.

"Don't panic. Stay calm. I'll get you out safely," Srikant's voice instructed.

Moments later, Srikant's SUV arrived silently. He leapt out like a shadow, moving with unmatched speed and precision. Within seconds, he neutralized the first two intruders silently, then turned to confront Vikram.

Vikram emerged from the darkness, calm, confident, and dangerous. His eyes glinted under the streetlights.

"You think hiding her will save her?" Vikram taunted. "She's mine to test."

Srikant stepped forward, placing himself firmly between Vikram and Sasmita. "She's mine to protect. You won't touch her."

The battle erupted. Shadows, gunfire, rapid movements collided. Srikant moved like a phantom, taking down Vikram's men while shielding Sasmita. Every strike, every movement revealed the deadly King behind the loving facade.

"You love her too much," Vikram sneered. "And that love… will be your weakness."

Srikant's eyes flared with intensity. "No. Love is my strength. And it will protect her—always."

Suddenly, a hidden explosive went off near the street. Smoke and debris filled the air. Sasmita pressed herself against Srikant, her chest pounding with fear.

"Stay close," he whispered. "Trust me. I'll handle this."

Vikram vanished into the shadows again, leaving a single note pinned to Sasmita's door:

"This was only a warning. The Queen will face her fate soon."

Sasmita trembled in Srikant's arms. "I… I don't want to lose you."

"You won't," he said firmly, holding her tightly. "I promise. I will protect you… no matter what it takes."

Outside, Vikram's eyes glimmered as he retreated silently, already plotting his next move. Patient, cunning, and merciless, he was determined to separate Srikant from Sasmita.

Inside, Srikant held Sasmita close, her body shaking but trusting him completely. He whispered softly, "Once you're on this Love Train, there's no turning back. And love… is the only thing that will keep you alive."

The city was silent again, but both knew the war was far from over. The Love Train had passed another dark station, and the next stop promised danger, betrayal, and tests that would push their love and trust to the limits.
