Chapter 24 - Episode 24 – Trapped in the Dark

The city was cloaked in shadows.

Sasmita sat in her room, heart pounding. Her hands clutched the earpiece Srikant had given her. Every sound—the distant bark of a dog, the creak of a streetlight, the wind brushing the window—made her flinch.

Her phone buzzed. Unknown number.

"You feel safe? Not for long."

Her chest tightened. She immediately dialed Srikant.

"Sasmita… stay calm. Lock every door. Don't open for anyone," his voice was steady, precise, and commanding.

"I… I can't stop thinking he's right outside," she whispered, panic rising.

"You're not alone," Srikant reassured. "I'm almost there. But you must stay hidden and follow my instructions exactly."

Outside, Vikram's black SUV slowly moved closer. Men in masks flanked the vehicle, moving with calculated precision.

From his vantage point, Vikram watched Sasmita's house, a smirk playing on his lips. "You think he's clever," Vikram whispered. "But tonight… I will corner her."

Minutes later, Srikant's SUV arrived silently. He leapt from the car like a shadow, surveying the scene. His eyes narrowed as he assessed the men approaching. Every detail was calculated, every move prepared.

"Sasmita, stay close. Don't make a sound," he instructed as he guided her behind him.

The masked men tried the doors, rattling and pounding, but Srikant's team had fortified every entrance. Still, the tension was unbearable.

A sudden movement caught Sasmita's eye—a drone with a faint light hovered outside, controlled by Srikant. Relief washed over her, though fear still gripped her.

"Follow my instructions. I'll guide you out safely," Srikant's voice came calm and reassuring.

Vikram emerged from the shadows. Calm, confident, dangerous.

"You think hiding will save her?" he taunted, voice echoing through the street. "She's mine to test."

Srikant stepped forward, placing himself between Vikram and Sasmita. "She's mine to protect. You won't touch her."

The battle erupted. Gunfire, chaos, and shadows collided. Srikant moved with lethal precision, taking down Vikram's men while shielding Sasmita. Every movement displayed his strength, skill, and love-driven determination.

"You love her too much," Vikram sneered. "And that love will be your weakness."

"No," Srikant growled, stepping closer. "Love is my strength, and it will protect her—always."

Suddenly, an explosion rocked the street. Smoke and debris filled the air. Sasmita pressed herself against Srikant, terrified but clinging to him.

"Stay close," he whispered. "Trust me. I'll handle everything."

Vikram vanished into the darkness again, leaving a chilling message pinned to Sasmita's door:

"The Queen will make her choice… soon."

Sasmita trembled in Srikant's arms. "I… I don't want to lose you," she whispered.

"You won't," he replied firmly. "I promise. I will protect you… no matter what."

Outside, Vikram watched silently, plotting. Patient, cunning, and merciless.

Inside, Srikant held Sasmita close. The Love Train had passed another dark station, but the journey was far from over.

The next station promised the ultimate test of love, trust, and survival.
