Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Work galore! Clients thrown into ORs like broilers on conveyor. Traffic of D-rank living batteries sucked all chakra from the poor bastards. Junior iryonin even ordered one extra chakra pill beyond norm. But even so (under colleagues' somnambulic mood), influx of non-clan Konoha freeloaders our Hyuga council couldn't curb.

Six B-rank emergency ops, fifteen C, liver replacement with transfusion for bigwig from Sarutobi clan and bunch of fractures from civilian shinobi. Amputations—not counted. And this clusterfuck, with my "Kage Bunshin," I cleared during my personal damn vacation.

"Kyuubi!" My voice full of irritated hiss whistled to the doctors' lounge ceiling. "You bitch! Killed a ton of people and... My Biju Vacation! Stupid Ten-Tails spawn. In Rikudo's name! When will they let me rest now?" To my irritated rant Akayo and Jiro Hyuga—both S-rank iryonin charging at "batteries"—sneered slyly, then sympathetically patted shoulder. Akayo added.

"Hang in there, Ichiro-san. Takeo-sama and you with Reika-san already patched all ours." Akayo rolled eyes to ceiling, then listed from memory. "Two Uchiha left, one Kurama, three Yamanaka and nine Akimichi. Also two Sarutobi and five Uzumaki. But last in dire state. Who do you pick?"

"Here." Unsealed from right forearm tattoo scroll. Then carefully handed Akayo the priceless heirloom from grandma Minami Uzumaki—"medical prison storage" from second Great Shinobi War era. "Pack Uzumaki temporarily in this stasis fuin." To which Jiro stared astonished, and I quieter continued. "Think we can pull them from Shinigami's hands with Takeo-sama's help. Uzumaki Clan ancient allies. Barely scraps left of them. S-rank iryonin boosts their chances."

"Lucky for these Uzumaki. Especially with scroll and our iryonin!" Jiro noted my op sequence—third cousin from branch family. "And others? Who do you pick, Ichiro-san?"

"Yamanaka, and if strength holds—Kurama. Don't wanna mess with Uchiha." At last phrase Jiro and Akayo understandingly exchanged glances, then latter heavily sighed and said.

"Ichiro-dono. Everyone knows you're best eye specialist. Uchiha refused Konoha tent hospitalization. They request you."

"Clear why refused hospitalization, ha-ha, 'free'!" Involuntary snort escaped. "Their Sharingan would vanish instantly. Transplant's tricky, someone might die, especially if free!" Clarified. "Both one eye, left and right?" I'd already figured girl Ito Uchiha delivered "Hyuga parcel" to her bigshots.

"Precisely, Ichiro-dono. First—Isamu Uchiha, elder's son. Caught Kyuubi blast returning from patrol. Lost right eye."

"And next? Enforcer? Or another important prince?"

"Yes, enforcer—Ryu Uchiha. Hiashi-sama ordered him second after Isamu Uchiha."

Clear. Politics! Scheming under noise again. Mulling situation, took from Jiro near-blank card of Ryu Uchiha. Noted age and chakra circulation system reserve not indicated.

"This one?" Recalling, snapped fingers. "The forty-year-old? Jonin, A-rank, with advanced glaucoma?" Then had to ask unpleasant but vital question. "As usual, operate with witnesses? Two of them during op?"

"Yes. Both questions. With them Akane Uchiha—D-rank iryonin and Takashi Uchiha—guard observer."

"... Well, if Hiashi-sama ordered, time to work. Jiro, come with me, insure. Everything."

"Yes, Ichiro-san."

By noon finished with Uchiha and Yamanaka. Healed Ayumi Kurama's TBI and saved her right leg. Woman lucky, could've stayed cripple. (Twenty-five-year-old widow friendly with me and batting eyes, naturally I saved). Then heard (including hers) thanks. Hour for food and light sleep. Then again... into battle!

Only at two a.m., when Reika-san and I "stitched up" all clanmates, constant influx of Konoha freeloaders finally slowed. Thanks to our med-nins, good specialists too! Civilians, but girls—smart cookies.

And by nine we finished. Our hospital back to shift mode.

"Praise Rikudo! Been waiting for this!"

Hello sleep.
