This is incorrect judgment. Byakugan allows seeing only the side of objects facing the user. It can, of course, see through objects, but the face can only be seen from the inside that way.

What will the vision radius be for a Hyuga shinobi who has only one Byakugan?
Some think the radius won't change, others think it should be divided in half, to 180 degrees.
Established fact—neither assumption is correct.
If the owner has a blind spot, it means each eye's overview has a limited width of monocular field of view. But dividing the radius in half would be absurd, as in that case the Byakugan in the right eye socket wouldn't see what's left of the nose, but would see behind the back, which contradicts at least three most obvious following facts.
Fact 7H23A. № 1: "Vision through objects." Fact 7H23B. № 2: "Vision of Monocular Wide Field Eye."
Example for Fact 7H23B. № 2: Similar wide-angle field of view is possessed by organisms (Reptiles: gecko, chameleon; Birds: heron, pigeon, eagle; Mammals: cat) with highly developed ocular apparatus. In these representatives, unlike the usual human 90-degree field of view, monocularly, each eye separately sees up to 180 degrees, and combined two eyes approach 360 degrees... just like with Byakugan.
Fact 7H23C. № 3: The Byakugan iris size exceeds that of a normal human eye by 30 to 50%, compared to a normal eye, making the outer boundary of the iris—Limbic Ring—more sensitive to light and color (due to a large number of cones—multiplying photoreceptors) and accordingly, a larger field of view for the Byakugan eye. № 7H24. Second Byakugan Ability: Penetrative Vision.
Byakugan provides the ability to see through objects.

№ 7H25. Switching Radiation and Focusing Penetration Depth of Gaze:
The depth of Byakugan vision through obstacles varies at the user's will. For example, they can separately see what's under clothing, under skin, under skeleton, inside organs, and behind the target's back. At the same time, some of the listed layers can become completely invisible or semi-transparent for their vision, as in the case of observing beetles (in Aburame clan representatives' bodies). Or as in the situation with the optical camouflage technique "Suika no Jutsu: Water Transformation Technique" of Kirigakure Hozuki clan representatives.

Byakugan Abilities!
№ 7H26. Third Byakugan Ability: Telescopic Vision.
The third Byakugan ability is—Telescopic Vision. This ability typically combines with the second and is used for spotting targets at long ranges. Allows detailed examination of targets at enormous distances.
The vision range of a well-developed Byakugan can reach 10 kilometers or more.
Byakugan also allows seeing small objects, like Sharingan. But has a number of significant advantages:
Advantage 7H26A. № 1. Tenfold Byakugan focus versus sevenfold Sharingan focus, and Byakugan Binocular vision is absolutely independent of the VISIBLE spectrum (which, minimally, is necessary for Sharingan sevenfold focus photoreceptors—cones) light. Simply put, even in absolute darkness Byakugan sees perfectly, as it recognizes "Neutrino" particles, which can pass through ALL obstacles. Byakugan is limited only by the eye lens focus range.
Advantage 7H26B. № 2. Ultraviolet (colorless quartz lamps) and infrared radiation can be selectively (including X-ray, Radio waves, etc.) filtered by Byakugan.

According to records and surviving stone monuments about brothers Hamura and Hagoromo (Rikudo Sennin), as well as their mother and Progenitor of ALL chakra—Horned Goddess—Rabbit Kaguya, an interesting chain of events emerges! Both Kaguya Goddess and her son Hamura (mentioned in Hyuga archives as progenitor and founder of our clan)—share two common distinctive traits. First: White eyes—Byakugan! Second: Thickened (compared to ordinary people) frontal, parietal, and temporal skull bones. The latter may be a rudiment of horn formation.
Following this chain of reflections, and theoretically considering legends of Kaguya Goddess (especially that she with "eye" thought force uprooted trees with roots and swept entire mountains), one can draw a parallel of Byakugan power heritability ancestor-descendant. Fact 7H27A. № 1. Presence of Byakugan.

This is precisely why no "PERSON," including Uchiha, even with the help of Sharingan, will EVER be able to put a member of the Hyuga clan, who ALREADY has the Byakugan activated, into Genjutsu. It's like trying to convince an eight-eyed spider with compound vision (in genjutsu deception) with a one-eyed shrimp! And the shrimp will "do it" only with the help of information calculated and computed by a more deficient brain, thereby forcing this spider to see the surrounding world exclusively with one of its eight eyes! At the same time, it needs to make the spider forget to look at the surrounding world with compound vision, and do it in a way unknown to it – in the manner of human vision, in the exclusively visible light spectrum.

If we theoretically allow at least limited possibility of influence by super-powerful Mangekyo Sharingan techniques on the Hyuga brain, then first and foremost, the Genjutsu effect will Backfire on the Uchiha himself! Despite the fact that in this regard Sharingan significantly inferior to Byakugan, it is able to see chakra through certain (but not all) obstacles, and also by analyzing its flow determine (but not all) disturbances in it, for example those caused by possession or extensive infection with foreign chakra, or some (e.g., visual) genjutsu.
The user gains incredible speed and clarity of perception, allowing him to read lips or copy (repeatedly noted on the written Chunin exam test) something like the movements of a pencil. The Uchiha Sharingan, just like the Hyuga Byakugan, can see movements and objects even at the chakra-cell level (personally documented in Akane Uchiha – a D-rank iryonin). The user can copy almost any jutsu they have seen, memorizing any technique from the fields of ninjutsu, genjutsu, or taijutsu with near-perfect accuracy. Theoretically, the owner of such eyes can replicate the technique and even improve it, adapting it to their needs and thereby creating their own. However, again, the Sharingan user must possess the specific abilities necessary to copy the techniques they have seen. And that is precisely why they cannot, for example, reproduce Enhanced Genome abilities they do not possess or natural transformations they have not yet learned to use.

The user can employ what is generally called Sharingan Genjutsu. While this ability has many forms and purposes, the most well-known is influencing the target's thoughts and actions through eye contact, thereby forcing them to reveal the needed information or act in the desired way, most often unconsciously for the target themselves. In special cases, the Sharingan owner can fully subjugate the victim's body, making them do exactly what the user desires; this control is visually indicated, as the Sharingan pattern appears in the target's eyes as well. № 4E26. Little-studied and unconfirmed Sharingan abilities.
In addition to all the abilities listed above, there may theoretically exist another technique (data source – internal ciphergram № 4134-UHT from the Third Shinobi World War era "Mnemosyne Shina Uchiha") that the Sharingan owner can use: Izanagi allows them to distort reality for a certain period of time, turning it into an illusion or vice versa, thereby avoiding death and rewriting their fate. However! The likelihood of Izanagi's existence is negligible! Because using this technique contradicts two fundamental laws of the Universe: № 1 "Law of Conservation of Energy," № 2 "Law of Invariance of Physics in Time"! It so happened that right now I was just lying there staring at the ceiling. I didn't feel like sleeping. Working – not at all. So, my mind just wandered, thinking about everything: the clan, life, childhood, friends, everything unusual. And in the end, … somehow spontaneously, it came – let's call it a "Temporal Turn." I plunged into the time when I became a Chunin. Apparently, on a subconscious level, I sensed it and found where it all began. That moment in my life when everything spun up. When knowledge from my past life first awakened. And even if not consciously, I began to "resurrect" and use them. For the good of clan politics. For father and relatives. The beloved hospital. And of course, for myself.
No, I'm not deceiving myself or being modest. The clan always comes first! Then the main branch. Next, the branch family. Family. Relatives. And only then, me. Exactly in that order – with all my bloated egoism. Simply, there's no other way to survive in our world. Everyone knows that! Clan folk especially, Hyuga for sure! And those shinobi who think differently, well… congratulations! It means your brains have been perfectly washed! And you'll live… may Kami grant, until new ambitions with the "kind" squint of the bosses. Anyway, let's not… About such unlucky people, they say either good or nothing.
Better to return to where it all began.
"Temporal Turn"! Yes, at that point in time, I had just become a Chunin. And to be adequate in judgments, I must say that at twelve – Chunin (among Hyuga for sure) is an indicator that you're a mediocre shinobi. And so, on one of the "special" missions, a kunai loaded with Raiton said hello right to my head. To the right temple. Grazing. After which I blacked out. And when I came to again, it turned out I had taken down a Tokubetsu Jonin with a pair of some very strong "genin." (I'd even say good Chunin). Well, bijuu with them, the beauty is that when I remembered EVERYTHING, an interesting – in every sense – layout emerged. And so, let's go in order.
I managed to use the nin-taijutsu technique – "Jujutsu Kenpo: Ichigen Shin" (Gentle Fist Art – Whole Body Chakra Strike). Moreover, its most complex version. A point-blank chakra beam strike from the back, through the opponent's body, who had circled behind you.
Instant! Will to live. Technique activation. "Jujutsu Kenpo: Ichigen Shin." Two chakra bursts that merged into one and two punctured "genin" fell somewhere behind. Then, an instant Kaiten for protection from "Phoenix Flowers" (enhanced by the enemy in shuriken) with a simultaneous throw of flashbang kibaku-fuda straight at all enemies. A powerful, ringing-blinding Bam boom! My leap right onto the jonin's head and another Kaiten: Vacuum Rotation Heaven.
The technique turned out huge, thus creating a large spinning chakra sphere that smashed the opponent into the ground. When I stopped spinning, I landed in the center of a huge crater created by my technique. I literally smeared the jonin into mincemeat. After which I myself was depleted, fell to my knees and blacked out for a couple of seconds. And when I got up again, my brain worked in normal mode and remembered the end of the berserk battle.
Four seconds! Exactly that long I was "on autopilot" against three ANBU NE. How is that possible? Still don't know. And I don't want to ask questions to Konoha even now. I still want to live and my time is valuable.
The only thing I managed (before the "rooters" rotted away on their own) was to rip out the tongue of one of the "genin," and successfully, with a silence seal right under the tongue. After which, quietly and peacefully closed the mission and handed over the evidence to the clan.
Alas, the clan council and patriarch Hiashiru-sama considered the evidence too… hmm… "blurry," so I was brushed off that time. The issue with Hiruzen was hushed up. No expertise was done either. The case just quietly disappeared. Something like that!
Well, whatever. The main thing is I notified the clan – "About Shimura's shady dealings with the old macaque." And that's… good enough. Since then, the main branch hasn't sent people on solo missions. Though the one-eyed mummy also quieted down a bit.
Yes, and besides that, that time I rocked my reserves (emergency chakra burst with expansion of chakra channels), got a "prophetic dream" and insight in medicine. And a month later, promoted from field D-rank iryonin to C-rank. After which, "prophetic dreams" came three-five times a year. And after two more such hot concussions on the northern front, I began literally "snatching" new medical knowledge. Dissolving in war fits.
Yes, war was raging. First, the Second War. (Where at ten I got involved as a yellow-bellied genin, and by twelve – to the war's end and Chunin). And after four years – the Third War.
Many died. Uzumaki, including Konoha's. The last Senju. Obito. Rin. Then, a year later, Hiruzen… gave the go-ahead for Hiruko's experiments. They became fully illegal, forcing him to flee right from the front and the village. Though his work then found someone to pick it up. Too bad not me.
On my thirteenth birthday, I got lucky, went on the iryoninjutsu chief commander's orders. Dove deep into problems on the "smoldering" front, right in the field, and first and foremost transplantology. Hands, legs, kidneys, intestines, lungs, dojutsu… tried almost everything! Best at eyes and traumatic brain injuries. Both dojutsu – Sharingan with Byakugan, and ophthalmology in general. Also dug into brains. Delved into brain structure. (Material – whole mountains, enemies and "volunteers"). Its chakra channels and areas responsible for memory and perception functions. In parallel, to not go mad, wrote a manuscript-book: "Chakra Gaze" and, gradually, anatomically illustrated it with live models.
Another year later, they returned me to Konoha due to chakra channel disability in my right arm and leg. In a quarter, I strained and fixed, restoring my arm and even mobility in my right leg. (What can I say! Byakugan with a microscope expanded the world for me!). Two months later, thanks to front-line disabled vets and volunteers, sorted out the leg too. Obviously – my own leg. And while sorting, can say worked and lived for the good of Konoha's central hospital. Exploring all the delights of bureaucracy, civilian clout, "looting" the hospital archive, and in payment for the cushy spot, the delight of free round-the-clock shifts.
That's another eight months gone. I released the book "Chakra Gaze." (Its first part). Marked my sixteenth birthday. And gradually gathering up, went back to the "smoldering" front.
Then everything went as per the rut.
Spent two years on skull traumas, spine, and to a lesser degree, transplanting bioimplants in the form of trophy "found" eyes for our front-liners.
Before the Third War started, I managed another vacation. Ran to the capital, printed the second part of "Chakra Gaze: Eye Structure." Then, as punishment, got thrown between Suna and the "stone" front and fiddled around those parts a whole year. (There, luckily learned from the great non-ud… Senju Tsunade – beautiful woman – to counter poisons, play poker "Omaha," and… hmm, do free (for med staff), non-vulgar women's massage). Well, and then as the Suna front closed and with iryoninjutsu they sent me to recon again, I got properly hit. Right on the "stone" front. Against Iwa devils with their Tsuchikage – Onoki Rietenbin.
My Byakugan thrice saw how that nosy flyer Onoki atomized our Forces right from the skies. "Atomic Cube," "Landslide," and of course, "Rain of a Thousand Boulders." Many of us fell then, even more crippled and concussed. At that moment, I got heavily hit, and that's when I saw my penultimate "incarnation arrival"! – Rinnegan!
I started collecting info on it after the war. And though scraps, something was found. (In geological and historical data). Three different remote monuments from the early Sengoku Jidai era.
But everything in order.

№ 2Q1GC. / Chakra Essences: Three Great Dojutsu. Rinnegan.
(Attention. Last Sciencegasm!).
The Rinnegan is one of the three greatest dojutsu. Eyes, according to surviving historical testimonies, having purple sclera and iris, as well as at least from three to six Limbic Rings. And a multifaceted complex composition of abilities.
Compared to ordinary eyes, which follow the "One" principle: one pupil, single-composition iris, one rudimentary-deficient-limbic ring, etc., the Rinnegan is more developed and follows the "Infinity" principle: theoretically, nine hidden and one visible pupil, at least three-composition "telescopic" iris, mobile-reproductive Limbic Ring – chakra detector, super-enhanced framework of silver chakra fibers with super-developed optic nerves, etc.
In various historical primary sources, different shades of purple for the Rinnegan are indicated, and even the eye color of the Rinnegan itself for one of two hypothetical possessors, namely Hagoromo Otsutsuki – aka Rikudo Sennin and (possibly) his biological parent – birth mother – Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Example 2Q1GA. № 1! In the inner stone hall of the Hi no Tera temple, there is an ancient stone wall-mosaic (dated to the 266th year of the Sengoku Jidai era) titled "Senzoku no Sai." The temple monks call this painting "The Path of Ninshu Enlightenment."
Example 2Q1GB. № 2! Another historical depiction of the Rinnegan (dated to the 249th year of the Sengoku Jidai era) is located in the Valley of Hell, in the inner central cave behind the throne room of the "King of Hell." The Rinnegan depiction is in the open demon's maw, and presented (most likely due to high iron content in the air throughout the "Valley of Hell") in red against a half-destroyed Moon background. On the cave's stone vault ceiling, inside the Rinnegan fresco, the following inscription is engraved: "King of Hell Closed the Naraka Path."
Example 2Q1GC. № 3! The next historical testimony of a Rinnegan depiction is in ruins, in an underground cave, at a place called Rouran. It is a fountain sunk into the stone floor – round in shape with six purple Limbic Rings of the Rinnegan. Also, around the fountain (at equal distances from each other and equidistant from the fountain's center), there are six half-destroyed humanoid statues staring directly at the fountain-Rinnegan center. On one of these statues, the following engraving is partially preserved: "Chakra Evil (indecipherable) Preta."

Even though Rouran structure has long been abandoned and the fountain half-destroyed, the stone forming the fountain body and especially the aforementioned statue still retains remnants of complex-to-perceive (presumably natural) senjutsu chakra. The fountain's creation date, based on nearby stone mosaics "Ryuumyaku: Dragon Veins," is scattered from the 320s to the 380s years of the Sengoku Jidai era.

Rinnegan. … Let's theoretically break down its awakening and all variations of visual abilities, limitations of each, and hypothesize additional abilities that may exist and are confirmed by indirect and various historical documentary, verified (including scientifically) facts.

Fact 2Q12A. № 1. Byakugan and Sharingan studies show that both of the above dojutsu have further evolutionary potential. If we consider the Rinnegan eyes – Otsutsuki Hagoromo (Rikudo Sennin) – as the completed form of development of his innate dojutsu Byakugan, which (according to legends) was directly inherited by him and his blood brother Hamura from their mother – Horned Rabbit Goddess – Kaguya, then first, a comparative analysis of the genetic development potential of two great dojutsu Byakugan and Sharingan should be conducted.
According to the analyses conducted, both visual/physical and genetic calculations, both Byakugan and Sharingan have full potential in the case of Byakugan or partial in the case of Sharingan (direct (Byakugan) or multi-stage (Sharingan)) evolution into the Rinnegan dojutsu. This fact is indicated by the following identified data. A large reserve of nervous silver tissues and photoreceptive rods in the powerful mobile-reproductive Limbic Ring of the Byakugan, and stable two-composition "telescopic" iris… this entire "reserve genetic pool" gives the theoretical possibility of DIRECT (without side mutations – Sharingan) evolution of Byakugan into Rinnegan. The Rinnegan, based on its appearance with purple sclera and iris, as well as (IMPORTANT!) six Limbic Rings, theoretically should have the following abilities.

The primary passive ability of the activated Rinnegan should be an expanded field of view angle (hereinafter – "Expanded Vision"), unambiguously exceeding that of ordinary eyes and even Sharingan.

With extremely high probability, the "Preta Chakra Path" is capable of absorbing chakra (data source – 2Q1GC, 2Q1GD – "Chakra Essences") of any kind: pure Yin-Yang as well as others; elemental components, including natural – senjutsu chakra.

Any chakra techniques, direct attacking (Water Dragon, Fireball, Wind Bullet, Lightning Strike, Uzumaki Chakra Chains, Yin techniques, etc.) and defensive types (Lightning Armor, Hyuga Kaiten, Uchiha Susanoo, Earth Armor, Hiraishin, Magnetism Techniques, etc.), will be directly absorbed by the Rinnegan's special ability – "Preta Chakra Path." Analyzing documentally fixed historical data (data source – 2Q1GC "Chakra Essences"), the following situation layout emerges: The "Naraka Path" abilities essentially consist in summoning a being called "King of Hell." "King of Hell" is a large head that grows from the ground, surrounded by red flames. Based on the above data analysis, "King of Hell" can perform two tasks: interrogation and healing (which, vanishingly unlikely) with resurrection. To interrogate, the "Naraka Path" (if following the above data) needs to restrain the victim, then "King of Hell" appears before them. "Takashi-dono, tell Ichiro. Let him stay home, or at the hospital at worst! I'll prepare and convene the Hyuga senior council. We'll invite him again tomorrow! But before that," Hiashi looked thoughtfully at the table with the remnants of the burned "Chakra Essences," then shifted his gaze to Takashi. "Let your son come to me tomorrow morning. If anyone asks... say that Himawari is at sixteen weeks, and I want to know the exact gender of my child as the Hyuga clan heir, and he's invited as an iryonin!"
"Yes, Hiashi-sama!" Advisor Takashi, out of old habit, scanned the room and immediate surroundings with his Byakugan again, tightened the obi of his jinbei (home kimono), put away his chakra-powered pocket watch, and followed the patriarch. Five seconds later, the clan head and Hyuga advisor left.
