Chapter 67 - Mr. Protector :

Anger burned within Zavian he opened the car door and sat inside his expression hard and.

cool the tension in his mind was written all over his face.As soon as he sat down,

he gripped the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

The moment he shifted gears, he pressed the accelerator fully, and the car shot out of the parking hall like lightning.

Zavian changed gears again and pushed the car to full speed. But suddenly...

Kalene, Alisha, and Younshu came right in his path! All three were out of breath as they came running.

As soon as they saw that black "death" (car) coming toward them, they panicked.

They thought that today Zavian would run them over for sure. But Zavian had something else in mind.

He didn't slow down the car; instead, his deep and terrifying gaze remained fixed on them.

Seeing death so close, all three screamed loudly at once:

"Hey! NOOOO!"

Out of fear, they covered their faces with their hands, but then... a horrifying screech of tires echoed.

Zavian slammed the brakes, and the car stopped just an inch away from them.

Silence filled the air. When the three slowly removed their hands from their faces and saw the car had stopped, they finally felt relieved.

All of them let out a deep breath together. Just then, Alisha looked at Zavian. Without wasting a second, she ran to the car and pleaded:

"Please, Zayan! We're all going to the same place… please take us with.. you!"

Zavian cast his deep, cold gaze at Alisha. His face was still as stern as ever. In a short but firm tone, he said,

"Don't waste time."

Hearing this, Alisha froze for a moment, then jumped with happiness.

"That means… you agreed!"

She quickly turned back and called out to Kalene and Younshu,

"Hey! Come quickly!"

Hearing her, both of them ran toward the car Younshu looked at Kalene and said softly,

"Looks like it worked!"

Both of them had a victorious smile on their faces. Alisha quickly stepped forward and.

sat in the passenger seat next to Zavian, while Kalene and Younshu hurriedly got into the back seats.

As soon as the doors closed, Zavian tightened his grip on the steering wheel without wasting a second and pressed the accelerator.

The car jerked forward and, within moments, started speeding down the road, leaving the other cars behind as if it was racing the wind.

There was a strange ruthlessness in Zavian's driving, as if he wanted to tear through every obstacle in his path.

Seeing the speed of the car, Kalene and Younshu, sitting in the back, held their breath, but neither of them dared to say a word.

After a while, passing through the busy city, Zavian stopped the car near a market.

Kalene got out there and quickly said to everyone,

"Alright, see you at night. Travel safely."

Hearing this, Alisha and Younshu replied together,

"Okay, see you!"

Then Zavian turned the car again… their destination was now clear. They were now heading straight toward Sheyaan's house.

The moment they arrived at Sheyaan's house the car gradually slowed before coming to a sudden halt.

Without any hesitation Alisha and Younshu quickly stepped out of the car.

As soon as Zavian got out, Younshu looked at him with a slight smile and said,

"Thank you… really, thank you for...bringing us along!"

Zavian didn't even look at Younshu. In a completely flat and cold tone, he replied while walking toward Sheyaan's house,

"There's no need to... butter me up."

Hearing this, Younshu whispered to Alisha,

"Is he.. really our friend?"

Alisha chuckled mischievously and replied,

"Go ask him... yourself!"

Saying this, she quickly followed behind Zavian. Younshu, as usual, made a funny face and went after them.

As soon as Zavian stepped inside the house, his deep, searching eyes were looking for only one person—Sheyaan.

He had just entered when Fangxi looked up from his laptop and noticed Zavian surveying the house.

Fangxi immediately closed his laptop and stood up from the sofa, asking with a mix of surprise and happiness,

"Zayan! When did you...arrive?"

Zavian turned slightly and, as always, replied in a flat tone,

"Just… now."

Zavian remained standing in front of Fangxi his focus entirely on him but just then.

Two more voices echoed from behind breaking the moment.

"We come along too!"

Younshu and Alisha, smiling, stepped forward and stood beside Zavian.

Fangxi looked at them and quickly turned serious as he said to Younshu,

"Good that you... came too. We need to leave...urgently for a meeting..right now!"

Younshu asked in surprise, "But… where are we..going?"

Fangxi replied in a flat tone,

"You'll find out... in a while."

Before the conversation could even finish, Zavian's restless eyes began scanning all around. In a cold and sharp voice, he asked,

"Sheyaan? Where is she!"

His gaze swept across every corner of the house when suddenly… he saw Sheyaan coming from the front.

Sheyaan was trying to talk on her phone. Again and again, she was saying,

"Hello? Who is this? Hello."

But there was only silence on the other side. No voice was coming from the call.

Annoyed, Sheyaan pulled the phone away from her ear and.

Sheyaan cut the call abruptly and, as soon as she lifted her gaze, said angrily,

"Fangxi, look! For the past... two days, I don't know...who's been calling… they never say..anything!"

She had barely finished complaining when her eyes fell on Alisha, Younshu, and Zavian.

Sheyaan immediately hid her anger and, with a sweet smile, said,

"Hello!"

Alisha and Younshu also replied with smiles,

"Hello!"

But Zavian? He stood there like a stone statue, his eyes fixed on Sheyaan without even blinking.

Sheyaan noticed his intense gaze, but just then Fangxi interrupted.

"Did you...check the number?" Fangxi asked.

Sheyaan made a slightly sad face and said,

"Yes, I did… but no one in our house... has that number. And.. these calls have been coming...since yesterday!"

Before she could even finish, Zavian suddenly stepped forward and snatched the phone from her hand.

His sudden action shocked Sheyaan completely. Alisha and Younshu also looked at him in surprise.

Zavian, in a flat but low voice, turned the phone screen toward her and asked,

"Is this the number?"

His eyes were still on Sheyaan, who felt a bit nervous under his intensity. Stammering slightly, she replied,

"yes....yes… this is the one!"

As soon as Sheyaan confirmed, Zavian dialed the number without wasting a second.

He put the phone on speaker, and silence filled the entire room. Everyone's eyes were fixed on the phone.

But the call didn't connect—it was switched off. Younshu, who had been in a playful mood till now, suddenly became serious and said softly:

"Looks like...someone was just...messing around!"

He shifted his gaze, trying to read Fangxi and Zavian's faces, but there was nothing there except seriousness.

Fangxi thought deeply for a moment, then nodded in agreement with Younshu.

"Yeah, maybe you're... right. That could be... the case."

But Zavian? He didn't believe this was just a simple prank at all. His mind was pointing toward something more dangerous.

Without wasting any time, he immediately saved the number in his phone.

Then, handing the phone back to Sheyaan, he said in a firm and commanding tone,

"If that call... comes again… inform me.. immediately!"

There was such sharpness in Zavian's voice that Sheyaan quietly nodded without asking any questions.

"Hmm!" she agreed softly.

Just then, Alisha changed the mood and said,

"Alright Sheyaan, we should get... going now!"

Hearing this, a slight smile appeared on Sheyaan's lips.

"Yes, of course..., let's go!"

Sheyaan replied with a smile. She continued excitedly,

"That's why.... I got ready so early.... in the morning today."

Younshu, thinking with slight surprise, said,

"What a..strange coincidence… today all of us got...ready earlier than usual!"

Sheyaan laughed and agreed,

"Seriously!"

Alisha quickly cut in and said,

"Alright, let's go.. now!"

Just as Alisha and Sheyaan started moving toward the exit, Zavian's icy voice made them stop in their tracks.

"The study room is this way… where are you.. two going?"

Zavian asked, turning toward them.

Both of them stopped at once. Alisha turned back and replied,

"We're going to.. the library!"

Sheyaan immediately nodded,

"Yes, we're going to the...library."

Zavian's eyes fixed on Sheyaan. In a cold and firm tone, he asked,

"Who gave you...permission to go?"

His strict tone drained the color from Sheyaan and Alisha's faces; they both fell silent. Just then, Fangxi's voice came from behind,

"I gave Sheyaan...permission to go...Studying in the library is better than... at home."

Sheyaan immediately sighed in relief and quickly said,

"Yes! Fangxi is...right!"

Zavian stared at her deeply, as if weighing her every move. Fangxi stepped closer, placed a hand on Zavian's shoulder, and suggested,

"Why don't you go... with them as well?"

Hearing this, Sheyaan was completely shocked, her senses completely shaken.

Zavian stared at Sheyaan and said in a cold, flat tone,

"yes! Looks like I'll.. have to go after..all!"

Saying that, he casually slipped his hands into his pant pockets with full attitude and walked away.

Sheyaan watched him leave and made a strange face—half sad, half annoyed.

Then Alisha and Sheyaan quickly followed behind him.

Standing there, Younshu checked the time and said to Fangxi,

"Boss, we should get... going too!"

Fangxi nodded seriously, and the two of them also left for their important meeting. An unusual silence filled the house.

Meanwhile, Sideyou, who had been quietly watching everything till now, stood leaning against the railing.

He spun the phone in his hand, and a cunning smirk appeared on his lips. In a low, chilling voice, he muttered to himself:

"Mr. Protector! You'll never figure it out...but I well--I...uncover your truth."

A pause..

"Who actually are you...and what is your...connection with Sheyaan!"
