Chapter 66 - Cold Eyes and Broken Elevators :

Lucy's better words struck Fangxi like arrows piercing straight thought his heart.

For a moment his mind drifted back to the past to the days when he and Lucy lived like loving siblings.

Those warm memories now felt distant becauseeverythinghad changed.

Fangxi knew very well that the one who had poisoned their relationship was none other than Manglong.

Because of that one person, his once happy home had been destroyed.

Fangxi fixed his deep, anger-filled gaze on Lucy. His face remained expressionless,

but there was a chilling coldness in his eyes that could intimidate anyone.

"Where did you...learn to talk like that?"

Fangxi asked in an extremely cold voice.

Lucy immediately shot back, her tone filled with arrogance.

"I am...older than you, Fangxi! I know... very well how to respond to.. people. Don't try to...teach me."

Hearing this, a bitter smile appeared on Fangxi's lips. In a calm yet dangerous tone, he said,

"Be thankful...Mom isn't here. If she...were, you probably wouldn't even be able to stand... on your own feet. And maybe... you're forgetting... Mom is still alive, and... she is the true owner of this.. house."

Fangxi paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and then added with a faint smirk,

"And...in her absence... it's me."

Fangxi's harsh words struck Lucy like a hammer. She had nothing left to say and could only glare at him with eyes filled with anger.

The atmosphere had become so heavy that it felt like an explosion could happen at any moment.

Just then, Manglong intervened. In a low but irritated tone, he said,

"Lucy!, you should... rest. Let's go from.. here."

Hearing this, Lucy stomped her feet in anger and stormed out of the place. Chan and Manglong followed right behind her.

Manglong and Lucy left in anger, and chan went with them. A heavy silence had just begun to settle in the house

when Fangxi's gaze suddenly shifted toward the stairs.

Sheyaan was coming downstairs. She was dressed in a stylish black shirt and matching black pants, which perfectly complemented her delicate figure.

Her long black hair flowed freely over her shoulders, and the shiny black shoes on her feet gave her entire look a bold and professional touch.

Sheyaan had a beautiful bag hanging on her shoulder, filled with her favorite books.

She was completely absorbed in her phone as she slowly made her way down the stairs.

Her full attention was on the screen, unaware of everything around her... but then exactly what was feared happened.

She collided hard with Lucy, who was storming out in anger.

"Aaah!"

A small scream escaped Sheyaan's lips. Her phone slipped from her hand, but she managed to catch it just in time before it fell.

The collision was so sudden that Sheyaan lost her balance. Panicking, she quickly checked her phone and muttered softly, "Oh! My phone..."

Sheyaan had just begun to finish her sentence when.

Lucy suddenly flared up, unable to hold back her anger any longer. Her face flushed red as she raised her voice.

"can't you...see!"

Hearing her sharp scream, Sheyaan quickly lifted her head. Seeing Lucy raging with anger in front of her, she froze.

Sheyaan was completely stunned, the words on her lips dying before she could say them.

Lucy didn't waste another second; she tossed her head with an arrogant flick and stormed away.

But Sheyaan felt like someone was still staring at her. When she turned her gaze,

she saw Chan standing there, looking at her with strange eyes. As soon as Sheyaan noticed him, he too walked away silently.

Sheyaan stood there, confused and troubled, watching the three of them leave. Just then, a familiar deep voice echoed:

"Sheyaan!"

Hearing her name, a wave of relief passed over her face. She hurried toward Fangxi, her heart still beating fast.

In a soft, concerned voice, she asked, "Fangxi... what happened.. to those three? Why do they all...seem so angry?"

Seeing her innocence, a gentle smile appeared on Fangxi's otherwise serious face. In a light tone, he said,

"Oh, don't pay... attention to them... they're just...like that."

Fangxi paused for a moment, glanced at her slightly messy hair, and then said softly,

"Alright.., leave all that and.. go have breakfast. You have to go to the.. library too, right?"

Seeing his concern, a beautiful smile slowly bloomed on Sheyaan's once troubled face.

Then the two of them moved toward the dining table. The atmosphere had just started to feel a bit calm when a servant

arrived with breakfast, placed it neatly on the table, and left silently. Sheyaan and Fangxi began eating together,

but Fangxi's gaze kept drifting back to her again and again.

Suddenly, while breaking a piece of bread, Fangxi looked into Sheyaan's eyes and said softly,

"Sheyaan, you really... look very beautiful today."

Sheyaan's face lit up with happiness and excitement. She immediately smiled and replied,

"Hmm! Thank you!"

But in the very next moment, Sheyaan remembered the third person who was standing with Lucy.

Her smile faded slightly as she asked thoughtfully,

"Fangxi... who was that third.. person with Lucy and..Uncle Manglong? Was he the same person I... bumped into that day?"

Fangxi chewed his bite and stayed silent for a moment, as if choosing his words carefully. Then he replied in a flat tone,

"That's Chan... Manglong uncle's son. And...remember, I told you I wanted to... introduce you to someone important? That... was him."

Sheyaan's expression suddenly turned serious. A storm of questions began forming in her mind. She quickly asked,

"Yes, I... remember. But... why is he here?"

Fangxi finished his food, slid his plate aside, and looked at Sheyaan deeply as he spoke.

Wiping his hands with a tissue, he said,

"He has come here to... complete his university studies."

Sheyaan made a slight face, as if she didn't quite like the idea.

"Oh... so that's the reason," she muttered softly.

"Now come on, finish your...breakfast quickly. The professor will be here any...moment!"

Fangxi reminded her again. Sheyaan immediately nodded and began finishing her breakfast in a hurry. Within a short while, both of them got up from the table.

On the other side.

Alisha was standing in front of the mirror in her room, putting the final touches on her makeup.

She had been getting ready for quite some time. After finishing, she picked up her bag and stepped out of her room.

At the same moment, Younshu also came out of his room, adjusting his coat.

Their eyes suddenly fell on the sofa in front of them, where Zavian was sitting.

He seemed lost in deep thought, a strange silence in his eyes. Alisha walked up to him and softly called out:

"Zayan!"

Hearing his name, Zavian lifted his head and looked at her with his cold, mysterious eyes.

His face was expressionless, showing no emotions at all.

Alisha asked, "Aren't you...going to Sheyaan's house..today?"

Zavian silently stood up from the sofa, slipped his phone into his pocket, and said in a flat voice,

"I was just... about to leave."

But Alisha tried to stop him and quickly said.

A soft smile appeared on her lips. Well she said gently.

We're both.. heading to the same place... Why don't...we go together!"

Zavian glanced briefly at Alisha, but before he could say anything, Younshu's loud voice echoed from behind,

"Me too!"

Zavian and Alisha turned back in surprise. Younshu explained,

"I got ready... earlier than usual today. The boss probably...hasn't left for the office yet, so I'll just...head there with him."

Zavian let out a tired sigh and nodded in agreement. He said in a flat tone.

"Alright!"

The three of them were just about to leave when another voice echoed through the hall,

"Hey! At least ask me... where I need... to go!"

It was Kalene. He was holding a big leather bag in his hand, a mischievous smile on his face. Walking toward them, he said,

"Well..., since the three of you are...already heading out, just drop me...off at the nearby market."

Hearing Kalene's request, Zavian's temper flared up. In an angry voice, he said,

"Do I look like your...driver, going around dropping you all off... everywhere?"

He shot a sharp look at all three of them and raised his hand, saying in a commanding tone,

"Book your own...cabs and go... wherever you need to!"

With that, he stormed off in anger.

Younshu and Alisha immediately turned to glare at Kalene. Annoyed and irritated, Younshu snapped,

"What was...the need to interfere.. like that? And what... market even opens this early in the morning...for you? Huh!"

Kalene made a face and replied,

"Hey! You don't know... there's a market that opens... really early!"

Cutting their argument short, Alisha said,

"Both of you.., stop this argument and... hurry up, or Zavian will actually leave... alone!"

Hearing this, all three of them panicked and rushed toward the lift.

Younshu quickly pressed the lift button, but it was already stuck on their floor.

He kept pressing it again and again, but the doors didn't budge at all.

Worried, Younshu said,

"Maybe it's not opening... someone might be inside!"

Alisha quickly made a decision and said,

"Let's take the.. stairs!"

Then the three of them rushed toward the staircase and started heading down.

All three of them were out of breath, running down the stairs like crazy. While rushing down, Kalene panted and said,

"Hey! When will these... stairs end? I'm already... exhausted!"

Seizing the chance, Younshu snapped,

"This is all because... of you! And.. it's because of you.. that these stairs never seem... to end!"

Kalene shot back while running,

"What are you... even saying? I didn't build... these stairs!"

Hearing their pointless argument, Alisha finally lost her patience. She shouted angrily,

"Both of you, stop this...nonsense and..hurry up!"

After a frantic rush, they finally reached downstairs. But the moment they stepped into the parking lot, they were stunned.

Zavian's car was speeding straight toward them.

It was rushing toward them at an believable speed to fast that it falt like impect was inevitable.

For a split second time seemed to freeze then all three of them screamed in unison.

"Heeey!" Nooooohhh!"
