Chapter 30 - The Perfect Candidate :

Fangxi had already sensed the terrifying danger approaching. Yet an unknown fear slowly sank deep into his heart. What kind of danger would it be?

In what form would it come? And how far would it go to destroy them? These questions were striking his mind like heavy hammers. His heart was pounding in his chest like a frightened bird.

He lifted his deep gaze and looked at Sheyaan sitting in front of him, who was completely unaware of the world around her and happily eating her cake.

Seeing her like this made Fangxi's heart soften. He became emotional, but he didn't let the storm inside him show on his face.

He thought to himself,

"Sheyaan... your parents are no longer in this world. After they were gone, my dad took responsibility for you, but sadly... he also left you alone."

Fangxi took a deep breath, and a strange firmness and determination appeared in his eyes. Making a promise to himself, he thought,

"But it doesn't matter anymore. I'm here with you now. Before any danger can reach you, it will have to face me a hundred times first. From now on,"

"I will take responsibility for you... and I will make you strong enough that this world will never be able to hurt you. I will become your shield."

Suppressing the storm within his heart, Fangxi looked at Sheyaan and said with a gentle smile,

"Sheyaan... just enjoy your cake and eat it properly, alright? And after that, go to sleep early. That will be better for you."

"I should leave now,"

Fangxi said. Just as he was about to get up from the bed, Sheyaan quickly stepped in front of him and blocked his way.

The embarrassment on her face had now been replaced by stubbornness.

"Hey… how can you leave like that? Aren't you going to eat the cake?" Sheyaan asked innocently.

Fangxi replied with a little hesitation,

"No… I have some important work, so I'm going to my room."

But Sheyaan wasn't ready to give up. In a low but firm voice, she said,

"No! Eat this first, then go. Here!"

Before Fangxi could even understand what was happening, Sheyaan forcefully stuffed a big piece of cake into his mouth.

Fangxi's mouth was full of cake, and all he could say in surprise was,

"Umm… Sheyaan…!"

Somehow he swallowed it and then smiled slightly before saying,

"Alright, now you should go to sleep, okay? I'll leave now."

Sheyaan gave a small, sweet smile and said,

"Hmm… ok."

Fangxi left from there and went to his room. On the other side, as soon as Sheyaan locked her room door from the inside, Fangxi's expression completely changed.

He went straight to his chair and immediately dialed someone's number. His face had now turned serious and firm.

As soon as the call was answered, Fangxi said in a clear and direct tone,

"Come to the house early tomorrow… I need to talk about something very important about him."

From the other side, a deep voice replied,

"Alright, I'll come early."

Fangxi ended the call and took a long, deep breath, as if the weight of the whole world was resting on his shoulders. Then he stood up and went to freshen up.

Fangxi turned off the lights and went to sleep. On the other side, Sheyaan also finished her cake and soon drifted into sleep.

But both Sheyaan and Fangxi were completely unaware that someone outside the room was watching them.

Lucy was standing behind the door, quietly observing everything.

A frightening, villain-like smile spread across her face. Stepping back slowly, she said in a poisonous voice,

"Just wait and watch… Sheyaan and Fangxi!"

After saying that, she left from there. An eerie silence spread throughout the house, like the calm before a powerful storm.

On the other side, Alisha, Younshu, Zavian, and Kalene had also returned to their home. Alisha, Younshu, and Kalene had

already fallen asleep because of exhaustion, but there was not even a trace of sleep in Zavian's eyes.

Zavian was sitting alone in his personal room. The entire room was covered in darkness, except for the faint light coming from a small lamp placed on his table.

In that dim light, Zavian looked extremely serious and mysterious. He was carefully preparing a "Soul Contract."

Suddenly, he tossed the pen onto the table. A devilish spark flashed in his eyes as his expression turned cold in a chilling, Demon like voice he said.

"Hmm… the Soul Contracts are ready!"

"Now only the soul remains," Zavian said in a cold tone. He leaned his tired head back against the chair and closed his eyes. A painful groan escaped his throat.

"Ahhh… when will this contract finally end?"

Suddenly, as if he remembered something, he slowly opened his eyes. There was a strange pull and fear hidden within them.

Sitting upright in the chair, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a burnt, centuries-old piece of paper.

The paper looked so ancient, as if it carried the weight of many centuries.

Zavian placed both of his hands on the table and stared at the paper carefully. In a low, whispering voice, he said,

"I know who you are… and I also know why you left this paper there. But it doesn't matter. Your truth will slowly reveal itself."

He carefully placed the old paper inside a strange and mysterious-looking book. The book seemed far beyond the understanding of ordinary humans.

Zavian let out a cold breath and said,

"It takes a lot of effort to create these contracts."

Suddenly he cleared his throat.

"I'm really thirsty… how am I supposed to go all the way to the kitchen?"

He was exhausted, but just as he said that, something suddenly came to his mind.

Zavian suddenly burst into loud laughter, his voice echoing throughout the room.

"Aah… I almost forgot that my battery is now fully charged! Why would I need to walk anywhere now? I can simply disappear."

An arrogant smile appeared on Zavian's lips. He was still sitting on his chair when suddenly a thick cloud of black smoke surrounded him.

In the very next moment, he vanished from that spot. In the blink of an eye, he found himself standing right in the middle of the kitchen.

He raised both of his hands and took a long, satisfied breath with a devilish "Demon Smile."

"Ah… what peace! Until a demon has the power to disappear at will, the true demon within him never truly awakens."

"This is what real peace feels like… and this is what it means to be a true king Demon!"

Zavian stepped forward and took a cold bottle of water from the fridge. He leaned casually beside the table and began drinking the water calmly.

Every movement of his carried the air of a king.

After finishing the water, he once again disappeared into that mysterious black smoke. Within seconds, he was back on his soft bed.

Pulling the blanket over himself with a devilish expression, he slowly drifted into a deep sleep.

The night had passed, and the wheel of time had turned into a calm and peaceful morning. Outside the house, the weather felt as pleasant as a beautiful dream.

soft, cool breezes were gently flowing. The world had awakened again, and everyone was busy with their own activities.

Somewhere, people were sweating through their workouts, while somewhere else someone was calmly sipping cold coffee.

But in this peaceful atmosphere, a sudden noise broke the silence. The alarm placed beside Alisha's ear rang loudly like an explosion.

"Trrrrinnngggg!"

Alisha was badly startled by the sound and immediately sat up on the bed with a jerk. It felt to her as if someone had given her a strong electric shock in her sleep. She let out a deep yawn and said irritably,

"Aaaa… this alarm! Why does it have to ring so loudly?"

She was still half asleep when something suddenly came to her mind. Her face instantly turned serious. She exclaimed,

"Oh… right! I have to go to Sheyaan's house today!"

The moment this thought came to her, a sweet smile appeared on her face. She quickly jumped out of bed and, without wasting a second, rushed straight toward the washroom.

Meanwhile younshu stood on the balcony quietly enjoying the cool morning breeze . A mug of coffee rested in his hand,

and the steam rising from it made the serious expression on his face look even deeper. Lost in thought, he quietly asked himself,

"Where will I find a bodyguard… someone who is both trustworthy and strong?"

He looked troubled, but suddenly a thought flashed through his mind like lightning. A spark appeared in Younshu's eyes.

Excited by the idea, he quickly drank the remaining coffee in his mug in one go.

As he finished the last sip, a confident smile spread across his lips. In a proud tone, he said to himself,

"Ah… right! He's already with me… how could I forget about him?"
