A deep silence had settled over Sheyaan's room but the quiet was Suddenly scattered when Lucy's screem echoed through the walls .
Lucy froze in shock at the scene before her Sheyaan was beating a man fiercely, almost in a frenzy.
Lucy shouted loudly,
"Sheyaan! What are you doing? Are you even in your senses?!"
The moment Sheyaan saw Lucy, she froze for a second. Breathing heavily, she hurriedly said,
"Lucy! Look at this stranger! He broke into our house without asking and even came into my room!"
"I've beaten him well… now quickly call the police. He needs to be thrown into jail!"
Lucy, who had been staring at Sheyaan's face with anger and disbelief, let out another sharp shout, "Go! Turn on the lights first!"
Seeing Lucy's furious expression, Sheyaan became a little frightened. She quietly walked over and switched on the lights.
As soon as the room lit up and Sheyaan turned back to look, the ground seemed to slip from beneath her feet. Lucy was staring at her as if she could devour her alive.
Sheyaan quickly ran toward the "stranger," but what she saw threw her into deep shock. Her lips trembled as she stammered,
"Fan… Fangxi?"
Without wasting a moment, Lucy pushed Sheyaan aside and rushed to the man, asking anxiously,
"yo...you… are you okay?"
The badly injured man was none other than Fangxi. He was groaning in pain, but his voice was muffled because Sheyaan had not only tied his hands but had also covered his mouth.
As Lucy helped Fangxi sit up straight, she suddenly noticed blood flowing from his head.
Furious, Lucy turned toward Sheyaan, who now stood trembling in a corner with fear. Lucy roared angrily,
"What have you done?! Do you want to kill my brother? Huh?! You… foolish girl!
"Just look at the condition you've put my brother in!"
Hearing Lucy's harsh scolding, Sheyaan's heart sank. Her whole body started trembling, and tears of fear filled her innocent eyes.
Sheyaan's whole body was trembling. In a shaky, broken voice, she stammered nervously,
"So... sorry! I... I thought it was someone else. Honestly... I...I.. didn't know it was Fangxi."
But Lucy's anger showed no sign of cooling down; the sparks in her eyes had already turned into blazing flames. She roared,
"Just be quiet! I'll deal with you later. Get out of here!"
Lucy's harsh voice trapped Sheyaan's words in her throat. She fell completely silent, as if she had been frozen in place.
Lucy quickly bent down, untied Fangxi's bound hands and mouth, and helped him get up. With concern in her voice, she asked,
"Fangxi, are you okay? You're not badly hurt, are you?"
Fangxi let out a deep groan of pain,
"Aaahhh... ye...yes... I'm... I'm fine."
But the situation told a very different story. Blood was continuously flowing from Fangxi's head, leaving red marks across his face.
He placed a hand on his aching head and stood up unsteadily. Looking at Sheyaan, he gave a painful smile and said,
"Sheyaan... today you beat me with great 'bravery.' Honestly,
"I will never forget this beating for the rest of my life."
Sheyaan stood there silently like a guilty person, listening to everything. Fangxi's words struck her heart like a dagger. Lowering her eyes in shame, she said in a soft, trembling voice,
"So... sorry, Fangxi. Please forgive me... I didn't mean it."
Sheyaan had barely finished her apology when suddenly Lucy rushed toward her like lightning...
Lucy's anger was now completely out of control; her face was burning with rage. She roared at Sheyaan,
"Will everything become fine just because you say 'sorry'? Huh?
"Can't you see properly, or have you gone completely blind?!"
Lucy's harsh and poisonous words struck Sheyaan's heart like arrows. The little courage she had left completely broke.
Her heart filled with pain, and she began to cry loudly like a child. Between her sobs and tears, she could only say,
"Sorry… I… I won't ever do something lik...like this again."
But instead of softening Lucy's heart, Sheyaan's crying face only made her even harsher. Her blood was boiling;
to her, Sheyaan's helplessness looked like nothing but an act. To teach her a lesson, Lucy raised her hand in the air and roared,
"How dare you!"
Frightened, Sheyaan closed her eyes tightly. But before Lucy's heavy hand could reach her face, Fangxi suddenly rushed forward and grabbed Lucy's wrist.
Fangxi was groaning in pain, yet there was a strange firmness in his grip. He shouted loudly,
"Lucy! What are you doing? Have you gone crazy?!"
In anger, Fangxi pushed Lucy's hand away with a sharp jerk and said clearly,
"Leave from here!"
Lucy stared at Fangxi with wide eyes, filled with shock and anger. She could not believe that her own brother was defending the very girl who had just injured him.
Lucy exploded with anger and said,
"Fangxi! What are you doing? Because of this girl you're in this condition, you're badly hurt… and now you're taking her side?!"
Fangxi's patience had finally run out his voice turned even colder and firmer as he looked at Lucy and said.
"Lucy! I told you...leave this pleace now!"
But Lucy showed no sign of moving. Her anger and jealousy were holding her back. She tried once again to say something,
"But Fangxi, this girl—"
Fangxi cut her off in the middle with a frightening roar,
"I said… GET OUT!"
His eyes turned red as he looked at Lucy and gave her a final warning,
"Remember this, Lucy… if you ever dare to raise your hand on Sheyaan again, I will forget that you are my sister. Do you understand?"
Lucy stood there frozen. Fangxi's words pierced her heart like arrows. Without stopping, Fangxi continued,
"I know very well that you don't really care about me. The truth is, you hate Sheyaan, and it's because of that hatred that you raised your hand on her.
"Before I throw you out of here myself, it would be better if you leave on your own!"
Hearing such bitter and piercing words from her own brother made Lucy's anger flare up even more. Her eyes burned with the fire of revenge,
but she was helpless in front of Fangxi's fury. Stomping her feet in anger, she stormed out of the room.
After Lucy left, the heavy tension in the room eased a little. Fangxi took a deep and tired breath of relief. He steadied the pain in his body and the ache in his heart, then slowly turned his gaze toward Sheyaan...
Sheyaan was still standing there, frightened and shaken, her whole being burning with regret. The heaviness in the room felt like a burden on her heart.
Just then, Fangxi stepped forward and gently held both of her trembling hands in his own. Sheyaan was completely surprised when Fangxi suddenly burst out laughing.
"Sheyaan! I must say... today you really cracked every bone in my body!" he said with a playful laugh.
Seeing Fangxi laugh so openly made the weight in Sheyaan's heart feel a little lighter. Gathering some courage, she slowly looked at his injured face and said softly,
"You got hurt so badly because of me... please forgive me. And... Fangxi, why did you scold Lucy so much? She must have felt bad, right?"
Hearing this, Fangxi made a strange face and said in a teasing tone,
"You're really terrible, Sheyaan! Instead of worrying about me right now, you're worried about Lucy?
That's it! I'm very upset with you for saying that!"
Fangxi puffed up his cheeks in fake anger and pretended as if he was about to leave. But just as he turned, his eyes fell on the cake lying on the floor.
With regret, he picked it up and said,
"Look! You even dropped my cake... I brought this for you with so much care, and this is what you did to it."
Fangxi placed the cake on the bed and turned his face away like a sulking child. Seeing Fangxi's innocent and playful behavior,
Sheyaan couldn't stop herself from smiling. She quickly picked up the medicine box and walked toward him with gentle steps...
Holding the medicine box, Sheyaan walked over to Fangxi. Her tone was gentle, but there was a clear seriousness in it.
"Stop being stubborn and look this way! Blood is still flowing from your head. Let me put a bandage on it,"
she said firmly.
But Fangxi was still sitting there with a puffed-up face like an upset child. In stubbornness, he turned his face to the other side. Sheyaan tried to persuade him with a mix of firmness and care,
"Don't act like a child, Fangxi! Sit properly and look at me."
Hearing her words, Fangxi finally gave in and turned his face toward her. With great care and gentleness, Sheyaan began cleaning his wound and wrapping a bandage around it.
Fangxi watched her silently, as if feeling the softness of her actions. Then suddenly, with surprise and a mischievous smile, he asked,
"Now tell me something... how did you become such a dangerous 'Wild Cat' today? Hmm?"
Hearing Fangxi's question, Sheyaan seemed to freeze. She had no answer—only the fear of that night and blurry memories remained in her mind. Just then Fangxi smiled proudly and said,
"By the way... I liked this new side of you. From now on, if anyone ever tries to trouble you, do exactly the same thing to them!"
Then Fangxi leaned a little closer and looked straight into Sheyaan's eyes, saying playfully,
"What do you say, my Silent Wild Cat? Believe it or not, that name suits you perfectly!"
Hearing Fangxi's teasing words, Sheyaan glared at him angrily, but behind that anger there was a strange sense of comfort and warmth hidden inside.
Hearing Fangxi's words, Sheyaan became a little annoyed and widened her eyes in mock anger as she said,
"How dare you call me a silent wild Cat'? Huh?"
Saying this, she started hitting Fangxi playfully. Instead of getting offended by her actions, Fangxi only teased her even more. But then suddenly he stopped her and said,
"Hey… that's enough now! Come on, let's eat the cake."
Sheyaan asked in surprise,
"Cake? But when did you bring it?"
With a sweet smile, Fangxi replied,
"When I was coming back from the office, I brought it especially for you. But you…!"
Before Fangxi could finish his sentence, Sheyaan interrupted him.
"Okay, but what was that knife doing in your hand? I was really scared when I saw it!"
Sheyaan expressed the fear that had been in her heart.
Fangxi burst out laughing and said,
"Silly girl! I brought the knife so that we could cut the cake together. But why were you so scared?
And then. Fangxi serious tone and ask.
"And… why were you saying that you knew your 'boss' had sent me to kill you? Huh? What kind of strange thing was that? Did something happen at the party?"
Hearing this question, the color on Sheyaan's face suddenly faded. Her expression turned pale and she fell completely silent. Stammering, she said,
"Well… when I was coming back from the party… "
Then Sheyaan took a deep breath and began to explain in a trembling voice,
"When I came back from the party... I heard someone talking quietly.
"Someone was saying that the work must start after two days, otherwise your death would be certain instead! That terrifying thing was said by that stranger."
Hearing this, the color on Fangxi's face disappeared instantly, and clouds of worry spread across his expression.
A shiver ran through his body. Looking at Sheyaan with concern, he quickly asked,
"Sheyaan... did you see his face? Can you recognize who he was?"
Sheyaan quickly shook her head and said nervously,
"No... I didn't see his face. He was standing somewhere in the darkness where the light couldn't reach!"
"And... and his voice was very strange and different, as if he was hiding his real voice."
Hearing her answer, Fangxi seemed to turn into stone. The color drained from his face and he looked completely stunned. Muttering softly, almost as if speaking to himself, he said,
"That means... that person has come this close to the house!"
Seeing Fangxi in such a frightening state, Sheyaan's fear grew even stronger. She asked anxiously,
"Who has come, Fangxi? Who are you talking about?"
Fangxi did not reply. He simply kept staring at Sheyaan, lost in deep and silent worry. His pale face revealed everything.
he had already sensed a deadly and serious danger approaching yet he chose to remain silent not wanting to frighten Sheyaan even more with the truth.
