Chapter 22 - The Silent Gesture :

Sheyaan's heart pounded wildly in her chest like a beating drum yet Zavian's grip on her remained firm .He had pinned her firmly against the wall, so close that their breaths were colliding with each other.

Zavian's gaze wasn't on Sheyaan's face; it was fixed on her neck. There was an old and deep mark there. it was no ordinary scar.

It was the mark of poison from Xavier's arrow, which was slowly turning darker, like a spreading black cloud.

This poison was no ordinary thing. It was a deadly toxin released from a demon's arrow, something that could slowly rot a human body from the inside.

Within a few months, the poison would spread through the entire body and take a life.

Zavian had tried to remove that poison from Sheyaan's neck at the hospital as well, but he hadn't taken all of it out.

Zavian knew that if all the poison had been removed at once, Sheyaan might have died at that very moment. That was why

he had come this close to her now. To remove the remaining poison little by little, so it wouldn't cause her serious harm in the future.

Looking straight into Sheyaan's eyes, Zavian said in a soft yet commanding voice,

"Don't move… stand completely still."

Sheyaan was trembling badly with fear. She couldn't understand why Zavian was saying these things or why he was standing so close to her.

Only one question kept echoing in her mind Why is he doing this to me? What does he want from me?

Zavian slowly raised his hand toward her neck. His touch carried a strange coldness and power. Sheyaan shut her eyes tightly.

Fear and uneasiness had taken over her completely, but Zavian's grip didn't give her even a chance to move.

Zavian grip tightened even further slowly he raised his hand and pressed his thumb against the terrifying black mark on Sheyaan's neck .very next moment,

Sheyaan felt as if someone had pressed a burning piece of hot iron against her delicate skin.

A fierce burning sensation shot through her. The pain was so intense that Sheyaan tried to scream, but before her voice could escape,

Zavian placed his other hand over her mouth. He forced her scream back down her throat.

"Ummm…"

Leaning very close to her, Zavian whispered into her ear in a deep, icy voice:

"Endure it, Sheyaan… endure it! If this poison spreads through your whole body, you could lose your life. Then forget about."

going to the university. you won't even be able to protect your Dad and Uncle's property."

Zavian's words struck Sheyaan's ears like the blow of a hammer. It felt as if her very soul was leaving her body while Zavian pulled that poison out of her neck.

She was screaming inside her closed mouth.

"Ummm… ummm…"—as tears streamed down from her eyes.

In pain and anger, she began hitting Zavian with her hands, trying to break free from him, but Zavian did not let go. His entire focus was only on removing that poison.

With every passing moment, Sheyaan's struggle and pain kept increasing. Seeing her in such agony, Zavian's face also tightened slightly with pain,

as if the suffering was not only Sheyaan's but his as well. But he knew that if he showed even a moment of softness today, Sheyaan would be lost forever.

The poison was so dangerous that even a Demon like Zavian was in immense pain while removing it. Yet Zavian did not move his hand until the poisonous mark on

Sheyaan's neck completely disappeared. The red power flowing from Zavian's hand was violently pulling the poison out from the dark mark.

As the poisonous mark slowly faded away, Sheyaan's strength began to give up and she started losing consciousness. After a short while,

the mark disappeared completely, but Sheyaan's body collapsed against Zavian; she had already fainted.

Zavian quickly caught her and sat down on the floor while holding her. Sheyaan's face had turned completely red because of pain and exhaustion. She lay lifeless in Zavian's lap.

At that moment, Zavian gently moved his hand over Sheyaan's face. As soon as he extended his hand, a red light emerged from his palm and touched Sheyaan's face.

As the light reached her face, a slight tremble passed through Sheyaan's eyelashes. Slowly, she opened her eyes.

The pain had probably lessened, but tears were still flowing from her eyes.

She looked at Zavian for a moment then she slowly stood up and gently pushed him away befor asking in a soft hestiant voice.

"Wha... what was all that? Why do I suddenly feel so light?"

Letting go of Sheyaan, Zavian looked into her eyes and replies in a calm tone,

"Someone's dark gaze had fallen on you, and I have removed it now. You are completely fine, and you will be able to focus on your studies properly."

Sheyaan asked in complete shock,

"How... how do you know so much about me? I don't even know you at all.

And how do you know my name? As far as I remember, I have never told you my name."

There was both fear and curiosity in Sheyaan's questions. Zavian gave a cold smile and leaned slightly toward her face, looking straight into her eyes as he said very softly:

"Ask that question... to yourself."

After saying that, Zavian stood up from the floor. With a stylish move, he slipped his hands into the pockets of his pants and said in his usual cold voice,

"Come on, let's go downstairs. It has already been quite some time."

With that, Zavian started to leave, but Sheyaan remained sitting there, surrounded by the questions Zavian had left behind in her mind.

Sheyaan slowly got up from the floor and shouted in anger and confusion,

"Stop! You cannot say things like this and leave me confused!"

Zavian ignored her words and walked out of the door, heading toward the corridor. Sheyaan ran after him in anger, but in her hurry, her foot slipped and she was about to fall when suddenly...

Without even turning back, Zavian waved one of his hands in the air. An invisible force that came from his hand held Sheyaan steady in midair.

Sheyaan, who was about to fall, suddenly stood upright in a single moment, as if someone had supported her.

Sheyaan was completely stunned. In shock and panic, she shouted from behind,

"Hey, wait! You are just a human, so where did these powers come from?"

Zavian did not stop walking, but while moving forward, he slightly turned his head and looked at Sheyaan.

His face still carried the same calm and mysterious expression. He placed one finger on his lips and said in a deep voice:

"Shhhh..."

After saying that, Zavian continued walking straight ahead. Sheyaan froze in her place, her mind completely blank. She thought to herself,

"Wha... what was that? How is all of this even possible?"

Then Sheyaan shouted again,

"At least tell me your name, please! You can't just leave like this!"

Zavian, still walking, raised one hand in the air without looking back at her and waved it in a gesture of refusal before disappearing down the corridor.

Sheyaan once again fell into deep thought and murmured,

"What kind of person is he... he doesn't tell anything."

A few moments later, when Sheyaan finally came out of the storm of thoughts in her mind, she hurriedly ran after Zavian again.

No matter what, she wanted answers to the questions he had left inside her mind.

Zavian quickly walked down the stairs where Fangxi and the others were already present. Sheyaan ran after him while breathing heavily, but by the time she reached downstairs,

they were all ready to leave. She tried to stop Zavian, but he did not even turn back once. They all silently walked out of the house.

Disappointed, Sheyaan went back to her room. Her mind was bursting with questions that only Zavian could answer. Restlessly, she ran toward her balcony and looked down.

Below, Zavian, Alisha, and Younshu were getting into the car, while Fangxi was seeing them off. Suddenly, Zavian looked up toward the balcony. His face still carried that same icy calmness.

Nervously, Sheyaan tightly held the balcony railing. Zavian looked at her and once again placed his finger on his lips, making the same gesture.

"Shhhh..."

Then Zavian moved one of his hands in the air and snapped his fingers while pointing toward Sheyaan.

A red light came out of his hand, flew straight toward her, and suddenly turned into a piece of paper before falling onto the floor near her.

The next moment, the car drove away. Sheyaan picked up the paper from the ground and was shocked when she saw it.

She stood there frozen. All her questions remained there on that balcony.

Many strange thoughts began to appear in her mind, but she could not understand anything. Tired, she placed her hand on her heart, closed her eyes, and said to herself,

"What is happening to me? Why does being around him feel so good?" And she wondered why that was written on the paper.

Thinking about all this, Sheyaan went back inside her room and lay down on her bed, lost in deep thoughts. But she did not know that among all of this, someone else was also there...

Someone was secretly watching Sheyaan and Zavian's every not a single moment not even a single word escaped those hidden eyes from the Shadows that unseen gaze quietly observed everything.
