Chapter 2 - NOT PREGNANT

VIVIENNE's POV

''What?!'' I whisper-yelled, unable to fanthom what the fuck he had just said.

I was in our matrimonial bed, naked as shit with a banging body no man in the neighboring pack or even our pack could resist and instead of seizing the opportunity, my very own husband who had left me sex deprived for several days was evading my touch and telling me he wanted an open marriage.

''W—What the fuck did you just say?'' I asked, my voice shaky as tears threatened to slip off my eyes but I held it.

''I'm saying I want an open marriage, Vivi.'' He repeated.

He had the freaking guts to repeat it!

I pulled the sheets to my body and sat up straighter. ''Roman—Why—I don't understand.'' I stuttered, unable to put whatever I wanted to say to him into words.

This was so unfair.

I'd loved this man for as long as I could remember. Finding out he was my mate was the best day of my life and getting accepted by him? I almost died from happiness.

I thought he loved me just as much.

He'd treated me like a queen, like his Luna.

But immediately the attacks started coming in, he changed.

He stopped making time for me like he always did even on his busiest of days.

I understood.

The attacks were serious and he was the Alpha. He had a responsibility to protect his pack. But I was part of his responsibility too and he'd barely speak to me or even came home.

My heart pricked and a tear drop slid down my cheeks. ''A-Are you seeing someone else?'' I asked, holding my breath as I waited for a response.

An annoyed groan reverberated in the room. ''What the fuck, Vivi? Why would you think that?'' He asked, pulling at his hair.

It was an habit he'd pull whenever he was frustrated. But I'd go bald right now if we were weighing frustrations.

''Because you freaking asked me for an open marriage, Roman!'' I snapped, my voice shaky.

''Vivi it's not about that!'' He snapped back, pacing around the room.

Then he stopped, staring at me.

He looked like he had aged ten times and with my eyes all clouded with lust minutes ago, I didn't notice the stubble under his chin.

''With the amount of attacks we'd been facing, we could lose all our soldiers and an hostile takeover might ensue'' He uttered, cutting through my thoughts.

My brow furrowed. ''What does that have to do with anything? With us?''

He exhaled, running his hand through his hair. ''Please, Vivi. I was going to tell you about this before but I held back knowing you would react like this.''

Who wouldn't?

You just told your Luna you want to be a free man, fucking any chick you wanted and you want her to do the same.

Who fucking wouldn't?

''But now…'' He drawled, crouching down to my level.

He held my hand in his and stared into my teary eyes. ''Now that I've seen how much you're suffering without me, I just can't hold it back. I—''

''You shouldn't have come back tonight.'' I blurted, taking my hand away from his.

I stood up from the bed not caring that the duvet had slipped off my body and I was now stark naked in front of him.

''Vivi?''

I ignored him and headed for the closet, my heart drumming loudly in my chest.

I draped a dress and shorts on before exiting the closet and heading for the door and stepping out

''Vivi! Please understand I—''

I closed the door behind me, the tears I'd been trying so hard to hold sliding down my cheeks uncontrollably.

I pressed my back to the door, inhaling and exhaling to stop my body from trembling and calm my uneven heartbeat.

''You can do this Vivi, you're the Luna of Crescent moon pack. You can do this.'' I whispered, wiping the tears off my eyes.

I walked out of the pack house and headed for the infirmary In quick strides, deciding to skip work and focus on pack duties for the day.

''Luna Vivienne?'' The pack nurse, Violeta called, sounding surprised. ''It's been a while since you came to the infirmary. Is something wrong? Are you…'' She drawled, her gaze dropping to my stomach.

I chuckled. ''I'm not pregnant, Violeta. I just came to check on the wounded.''

Her face fell. ''We can still perform a test incase—''

''I'm not pregant, Violeta. Lead me to the wounded, I want to see.''

''I—I don't think the Alpha would approve of that.'' She stuttered, her face twisting in fear and confusion.

My jaws ticked. ''The Alpha isn't here.'' I answered, my hand tightening into fists at my sides.

Since the attacks started coming, Roman had instructed me never to go near the infirmary and the nurses never to allow me in.

I had been excited then, knowing he wanted to protect me, shield me and didn't want me seeing things that would drive me into panic.

But why should I obey him? And what kind of Luna would that make me? The one getting shielded while her subjects were out dying for her.

''But the Beta is here. He could inform the Alpha and I'll be in trouble.'' She whispered, her body trembling and her face filled with pleadings as she stared at me.

My face hardened. ''And you'll be in trouble if you disobey the Luna's orders.''

Without another word, I brushed past her and entered the main infirmary.

The space was filled with pacing, crying, wallowing and I immediately realized why Roman didn't want me here.

Immediately their eyes landed on me, they rushed over to me.

''Luna Vivienne, Please do something…''

''I told my husband never to go to the frontline but he didn't listen! Luna Vivienne…''

''Talk to the Alpha! Tell him to get our sons away from the battle field!''

I was speechless, my words hung in my throat as they all stormed me with questions, demands, orders, their angers visible in their words, demeanor.

Someone suddenly pulled me out of the gathering and took me into another room.

''What are you doing here?!'' Mark whisper-yelled, his jaws ticked like he was holding his outburst.

''I—I—''

''You what?! You could have gotten torn apart in there. If the Alpha tells you to do something, you do it!'' He yelled, his face filled with anger.

I hit the inside of my cheeks, the metallic taste of blood filling my mouth.

He was right.

If Roman found out I had disobeyed his orders and almost gotten shredded by angry pack members, he would explode and I wouldn't be the only one bearing the brunt.

''Don't tell him, Pleasee.'' I whispered, giving him the googly eyes.

''Fine! But you have to leave now.'' He uttered, opening the door. But my eyes already caught sight of something else.

I brushed past him and walked towards the gurney where a man was laying in with wires connected to every part of his body.

I reached up and cupped my mouth with my hand, my breathing shaky. ''What is this?''

Mark worked in quick strides and grabbed me by my wrist, pulling me towards the door. ''You're not supposed to see that.''

I pulled my hand away, managing to get my hands off his grip with enough force to have my bones snapping. ''Answer me. What is that?''

I was beyong horrified.

His heart was still beating, he was supposed to heal.

Not as fast since his wounds were extremely deep. Still, his body showed no signs of healing.

''Is it the rogues? Rabid dogs?''

''We don't know, Luna. They are normal wolves but their bites, it's lethal. We've never seen anything like this.'' Mark uttered

''You need to leave, Luna. The Alpha has his eyes everywhere and can easily find you're whereabout.'' He added.

I nodded, thanking him.

I walked out of the infirmary and headed back to the pack house, my stomach growling.

I walked towards the east wing, to the living room when the sound of a low, guttural moan pricked my ear, stopping me in my tracks.

I froze, pressing my ear to the door.

The pack house had four wings and the east wing was only reserved for the Alpha and Luna. Other pack members including the Beta never entered the east wing except permitted by the Alpha or me, the Luna.

I pressed my ear to the door, my face twisting as the sound of moan coming from inside of the room hit me again.

The sound grew louder. A wet slurping sound accompanied by a high pitched cry of pleasure.

My heart skipped a beat.

Roman?

I could barely breath. Was this why he had no time for me anymore? Why he suddenly wanted an open marriage? Was he now exploring that even when I hadn't accepted it?

I felt a sudden, sickening surge of bile stuck at the back of my throat.

My hand trembled as I reached for the door handle, my brain begging me not to go in, not to hurt myself further. But my feet was a relentless son of a bitch. It moved on its on accord.

I opened the door slowly and stepped into the living room, my vision blurring with hot stinging tears. But the sight that met me had the tears stopping dead in my cheeks.

In the center of the living room, sprawled across the oversized leather couch was the Thorne triplets.

They were fully dressed, their dark, tactical gear a stark contrast to the pale, writhing body of the she-wolf pinned beneath them. She was completely naked, her head thrown back in a expression of pure, adulterated lust.

The scene was a chaotic masterpiece that had my legs rooted to the floor.

One of the brothers—I couldn't even tell who from this angle.

But he has his head buried between her legs, his tongue working with a relentless intensity. To the left, another brother had his mouth clamped over her breast, his hand kneading the soft flesh with a possessive grip. The third brother was leaning over her face, his tongue buried deep in her throat as they shared a messy, desperate kiss.

I should have turned away, should've screamed at them to get off my couch and stop soiling it.

Instead, I felt my inner thigh press together instinctively, a dull, familiar throb starting between my legs as I drooled to the triplets I hated so much pleasuring a girl till she cried ecstasy.
