"Mother?" Liza and Javier called as they both walked into their mother's chamber.
"Yes," the Queen replied. She was the first queen and the mother of Liza and Javier.
She was sat before the mirror while her personal maid painted her nails.
"My Queen," the children bowed.
"Guess what, Mother?" Liza asked excitedly.
"Leave," Queen Lola said to the maid, who immediately bowed and stepped out.
"Nice nails, Mother," Javier complimented.
"Thank you, my son," Lola smiled proudly.
"So what happened?" Queen Lola asked, turning slightly to face them.
"It's about Dario," Liza replied.
"Oh, the witçh's son… what happened to him? Is he dead?" Queen Lola asked coldly.
"We wished so," Liza and Javier replied at once.
"He isn't dead yet?" she asked, and her children shook their heads.
"He was locked up in his chamber without eating or drinking from today till tomorrow," Javier explained.
"And I suppose it was the king's order?" Queen Lola asked knowingly.
"Yes," they nodded.
"I just wish he would die soon or perhaps be removed from this kingdom. Seeing him reminds me of his mother, and I hate that. His mother came between me and the king… she took him away from me."
Her expression darkened.
"I hate her so much. The day she died was the happiest moment of my life. Now that she is gone, I have the king to myself again. What remains is her son. I will do everything to get rid of him," the Queen said, standing up from her chair.
"If that happens… this kingdom will peacefully be ours, with no third party again," she smiled and twirled around happily.
Just then, a knock sounded on the door. Her personal maid walked in with her head lowered.
"My Queen," she bowed.
"Speak," Queen Lola demanded, adjusting her hair.
"I received information that His Majesty the king will be bringing in a third wife," the maid announced carefully.
"What?" Queen Lola gasped, as did her children.
"I need to see the king," she said sharply, turning toward the door as her maid hurried after her.
"Mother, wait!" Liza called.
