Chapter 151 - First Time Using the Infinity Stones

 Asgard, Bifrost.

The once-magnificent Bifrost was now severed in the middle, its edges jagged and irregular. Even the bridge's surface, which used to shimmer with a thousand colors, had turned dull and lifeless.

The two culprits were in very different situations. One was locked in Asgard's dungeons, passing his days in boredom by bouncing a rubber ball against the wall.

The other sat on the broken bridge, sighing endlessly as he looked at Qin Xiao.

"I should have seen Jane before I left. We had a plan, but for some reason, the moment I saw Loki, I completely forgot about it. All I could think about was getting him back here."

Thor stared at Qin Xiao's phone, which displayed a message Jane had sent him.

The gist was: *I can't get a hold of Thor. If he went back to Asgard without telling me, tell him he's dead.*

"It's okay. You have to follow your heart," Qin Xiao said, patting Thor's shoulder comfortingly. "Maybe Loki is your true love. You two aren't even blood-related, so it's not incest. Please, don't look at me like that. I won't judge you."

"Sigh!"

Thor sighed deeply again. "I shouldn't have told you this. Your comfort is like a viper's bite—it only makes things worse."

"My father was right," Thor added helplessly. "Most of the time, you're just an asshole."

"Huh? When did your father call me an asshole?" Qin Xiao asked, his mind suddenly racing.

"Oh, they're here!" Thor shot to his feet, quickly changing the subject.

At the far end of the Bifrost, near the Golden Palace, Odin, the Ancient One, and Heimdall were slowly approaching.

"Let's begin," the three of them said, nodding to each other.

Odin abruptly raised Gungnir.

The spear's power amplified the magical energy, channeling it directly into the half-ruined Bifrost Temple. The collapsed roof and scattered debris began to float into the sky. Then, the entire structure materialized into a golden phantom, fitting perfectly against the temple below before solidifying back into physical form.

In an instant, the Rainbow Temple was restored to its original glory.

"Ancient One," Odin said, "the materials of the Bifrost are unique. My magic alone cannot fully restore it. I must trouble you."

After finishing this, Odin bowed slightly to the Ancient One.

The Ancient One nodded gently, formed a hand seal, and the metal ornament on her chest slowly opened. The green Time Stone floated out slowly.

The Ancient One grasped the Time Stone with one hand, and a faint green ring of light appeared on her wrist.

She gripped this green ring with one hand and twisted it counter-clockwise.

The time on the Bifrost immediately reversed. Countless fragments that had fallen into the Sea of Oblivion, or had even been thrown into the universe, flew back, slowly piecing the broken Bifrost back together into its complete form.

However, the colors on the bridge remained dull, lacking any of its original brilliance.

Thus, Heimdall stepped forward.

He cupped the Cosmic Cube in both hands, and the divine power within him surged into it.

Soon, a beam of blue light shot from the Cosmic Cube toward the Bifrost Temple.

As the spatial energy continuously poured in, the Bifrost Temple erupted with a blinding light.

The light slowly covered the Bifrost, and the entire bridge once again glowed with a dazzling spectrum of colors.

As the energy continued to flow, the core power source of the Bifrost Temple was slowly repaired. Finally, the light within the temple dimmed, and the radiant colors on the Bifrost stabilized.

Heimdall let out a long breath and slowly withdrew his divine power.

The pillar of energy emanating from the Cosmic Cube also gradually ceased.

The Bifrost was now completely repaired.

Qin Xiao was utterly bewildered.

*The Ancient One could have clearly handled this alone. Why did it have to be done in three steps?*

"Reversing time is not as simple as you think," the Ancient One explained calmly to Qin Xiao. "The more powerful the object or being, the greater the backlash on the Stone's user. I was injured last time and still need a certain amount of power to suppress the dark energy within my body."

Only then did Qin Xiao remember that most of the Ancient One's power was indeed being used to suppress the dark energy inside her.

"You should try using the Time Stone to directly reverse your own body," Qin Xiao suggested, speaking plainly about the dark energy without any regard for Odin's presence. "That way, you wouldn't have to rely on dark energy to prolong your life."

The Ancient One got straight to the point.

"First, that would cause her to lose her memories and power. Second, the moment she reverses, the dark energy within her body would immediately lash out and spiral out of control!"

Odin glanced at Qin Xiao, then spoke gravely.

"The Ancient One has been wagering her own life for years to hold back the threats from the Dark Dimension!"

Odin was perhaps the one who understood her best, for his own circumstances were similar. He had also expended most of his power to keep Hela imprisoned in Hel.

"The Time Stone is the most restricted of the Infinity Stones," the Ancient One explained as she picked up the Cosmic Cube and handed it directly to Qin Xiao. "Unlike the Space Stone, the rules of time are far more stringent."

"Give it a try. You now possess the power of the God of Fire; you should be able to activate the Space Stone."

"Focus your mind. Concentrate that focus on the Space Stone, then visualize the place you wish to go."

Controlling the Space Stone's basic functions was simple. With the Ancient One's guidance, a portal framed by swirling blue-black smoke quickly materialized before Qin Xiao.

On the other side was the bathroom of an apartment. A shower curtain was drawn across the tub, and a figure moved behind it—someone was clearly taking a shower.

Opposite the toilet was a small shelf. On it lay a few articles of clothing, a handgun in a holster, and a S.H.I.E.L.D. ID badge for someone named Phil Coulson.

There was also a small yellow wig.

Qin Xiao chuckled softly. He shot a tiny spark of fire directly at the wig, then swiftly closed the portal.

He then casually opened several more portals with the Cosmic Cube. He discovered that the farther the distance, the more energy the portals consumed.

Overall, however, the energy required to open a spatial portal was not much—it merely served as the catalyst to activate the Cosmic Cube's power.

"Try this one," the Ancient One said, pressing the Time Stone directly into Qin Xiao's hand.

Since there was no harm in trying, Qin Xiao accepted the gem.

This time, unlike with the Cosmic Cube, Qin Xiao had to concentrate intensely three times before a green halo finally materialized around his wrist.

He focused his mind and fixed his gaze on the Ancient One.

With a mere thought, before his hand even began to turn, he felt a terrifying suction faintly emanating from the Time Stone.
