Meanwhile, the X-Men's Jean, Storm, and Bullet Girl arrived in front of a towering skyscraper.
"We're finally here. I never thought Hell's Kitchen had such a tall building; I didn't even notice it the last time I was here," Bullet Girl remarked, gazing up at the colossal structure. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity and excitement, as if she could already see the battle to come.
Storm, however, was far from relaxed.
Her brow furrowed as she warned sternly, "Don't let your guard down. This is Fisk Tower, one of the most important strongholds of the Lord of Hell. We must proceed with caution."
Jean remained silent, her gaze fixed on the building as if searching for something. A deep light shimmered in her eyes, as if she could peer into every corner of the structure.
Just as Storm and the others were preparing to unleash their powers to destroy the tower, a crimson energy blast suddenly hurtled toward them.
They immediately scattered, their eyes fixed on the source of the attack.
A figure descended slowly from the sky. It was Wanda.
Wanda sized up the three women.
She had already done her research when she learned the X-Men would be attacking Hell's Kitchen. As she looked at the trio, she already had a plan in mind.
*This is going to be tough,* she thought.
*Bullet Girl is powerful, but she's the easiest to deal with. Her power is exactly what her name suggests—she can generate massive explosions from her own body.*
*Storm is formidable, but not unbeatable. Her power is weather manipulation—summoning lightning, storms, and the like.*
*The one who truly worried her was the red-haired woman—Jean.*
Wanda recalled Chen Ye's warning: "If you encounter a red-haired woman, do your best not to provoke her. If you do, your life will be in danger."
Wanda hadn't understood why Chen Ye would say such a thing, but seeing the woman now, it was clear her power was truly extraordinary.
Wanda took a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm. She knew defeating these three X-Men would be no easy feat, but she would not allow anyone to destroy everything Chen Ye had built and protected.
She slowly advanced toward them, releasing a powerful surge of energy.
Her gaze was fixed on Jean, searching for a weakness.
Yet, Jean remained unfazed, her expression calm and resolute.
Storm and Bullet Girl also sensed Wanda's immense power and immediately braced themselves for battle.
"You're Wanda, aren't you?" Storm's voice softened the tension slightly. "You're a mutant too. Why should we be fighting each other?"
Jean's eyes held a glimmer of hope. She looked at Wanda, seeing not an enemy, but a potential ally of extraordinary power.
But Wanda's reaction was one of fury. Her eyes widened, glowing with a fierce crimson light. "You're the ones who attacked us! What makes you think I'd ever join you?"
Her words were laced with defiance and provocation.
Jean's brow furrowed. She knew convincing Wanda wouldn't be easy.
Still, she clung to a sliver of hope. Wanda's power was simply too vast to ignore. If she joined Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, she would be an invaluable asset.
Just then, Wanda struck. Her eyes flared crimson as Chaos Magic surged from her like a tidal wave, enveloping her entire body in a brilliant red glow.
She launched a fierce attack on Jean, Storm, and Bullet Girl.
Seeing this, Storm refused to back down. Her eyes turned white as she began summoning a storm.
Clouds rapidly gathered in the sky, and thunder and lightning roared, as if foretelling the arrival of a tempest. Lightning wove into a web, striking back at Wanda.
Jean also refused to yield. She manipulated her telekinesis to counter Wanda's Chaos Magic. Her telekinetic power bound Wanda's movements like ropes, attempting to restrict her attacks.
Bullet Girl took the opportunity to charge up, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Wanda.
The sky grew even darker, and the sound of thunder and lightning echoed through the heavens. High in the air, Chen Ye felt the change in the weather and knew it was caused by Storm's powers. He swept his Observation Haki across the area and found Wanda fighting three opponents alone, the battle raging with extraordinary intensity.
He couldn't help but worry. Although Wanda had a 20% combat power boost from her "Family Man" title, he still feared she couldn't withstand Jean's Phoenix powers.
"Damn it, why would Professor X bring in such an unstable mutant? Isn't he afraid this Phoenix will lose control?" Chen Ye grumbled to himself.
He knew that Phoenix Jean was incredibly powerful, but also extremely unstable. If she ever lost control, the consequences would be catastrophic.
Carol seemed to notice where Chen Ye's attention was focused. She taunted him, "Worried about your little girlfriend? Want to go help her? Sorry, I'm not giving you the chance." With that, she resumed her attack on Chen Ye.
"I can help her whenever I want. Just shut up!" Chen Ye retorted, no longer holding back as he launched a full-scale assault on Carol.
*He doesn't need my help,* Chen Ye thought. *Someone's already on it. But if they keep fighting like this, the repair bill is going to be astronomical!*
Meanwhile, Wanda was gradually losing ground against the combined assault of Phoenix Jean, Storm, and Bullet Girl. Despite her immense magical power, she was still overwhelmed by three mutants of comparable strength.
Jean watched Wanda, a flicker of complex emotion crossing her eyes. She had no desire to be Wanda's enemy. After all, they were all mutants—they should stand united against external threats.
"Surrender, Wanda," Jean urged. "We really don't want to hurt you." Her voice betrayed a sense of helplessness and regret.
Wanda stared fixedly at Jean, a trickle of blood escaping the corner of her mouth, her clothes torn and tattered.
But her gaze remained exceptionally resolute, as if to say: *I'm not down yet.*
Storm couldn't help but interject, "You're alone, Wanda. You can't beat us. Just give up." Her voice was tinged with a hint of reluctance and pity.
Just then, a sudden, thunderous roar erupted. Countless shards of steel rained down toward Storm and the others.
Accompanying the steel was a clear, feminine voice: "Who said she was alone?"
Everyone looked up to see a green-haired woman slowly descending from the sky.
"Wanda, how did you get into such a mess?" the green-haired woman asked as she floated down.
Seeing her, a smile touched Wanda's lips. "You should call me 'big sister,' little sister Lorna."
So this green-haired woman was Lorna Dane, also known as Polaris, Wanda's half-sister.
Wanda didn't dwell on why Polaris had shown up.
Polaris helped Wanda to her feet, her tone laced with annoyance. "We don't even have the same mother! Why do I have to be your little sister?"
"Let's deal with the enemy first," Polaris said, turning to Storm and her two companions with a grim expression, attempting to drop the subject of the "big sister" title.
Wanda smiled, offering no further argument. Her gaze hardened as she looked at Storm's trio. "You're right. We'll finish them off first, and then you can call me 'sister.'"
"Not just the two of us," Polaris quipped.
"Oh? Who else?" Wanda asked, surprised.
The next second, Pietro, with his silver hair and signature goggles, appeared by Wanda's side, holding a bottle of chilled cola.
Pietro let out a burp. "So these three bitches are bullying you, huh, sis? Let's kick their asses."
Looking at Storm and her team, Wanda, Polaris, and Pietro exchanged knowing smiles. They knew this battle was already won.
