Chapter 5 - The 16 clan’s founding

"Hey! It's me, the narrator. Back again. I'm just gonna explain something real quick - don't worry, I'll leave right after."

"So, a really long time ago, a man named Aelthar came to this world from… somewhere else. Somewhere much, much more powerful. He brought with him a strange kind of energy from his home - think of it like a supercharged juice box that accidentally spilled all over the place. That energy seeped into this world and… well, that's how Aru was born. Sort of like the world's own watered-down version of his home power."

"Aelthar saw a small village that had suffered attacks from powerful creatures. So, being helpful (and slightly heroic), he channeled that new energy into the villagers. Each received a portion of Aru, giving them powers - the first seeds of what would become the 16 Great Clans. And, of course, he made a clan of his own as a backup plan… just in case things got messy."

"And that, friends, is the origin of Aru and the clans. But don't worry - I'll be back later with more exciting details. For now… back to the training grounds!"

The next day…

"Aerin, it's time to wake up." Arthur yelled.

Ok, ok. I'll get up.

A few minutes later…

I'm heading down.

What's for breakfast?

"Pancakes and bacon." Arthur replied.

Yum!

After breakfast…

I'm heading out. I'll see you later old man.

"Be safe!" Arthur yelled.

I will! See you tonight!

At the training grounds…

"Ok we will resume training from where we left off yesterday." Mr. Sato said.

"First up is learning how to swing and use a katakana effectively." Mr. Sato added.

Mr. Sato then gave them all a katana…

"First step get a feel for your katana. Don't think of it as a weapon, but rather an extension of your body. Once you get a feel for it go up to those dummies and try and destroy them." Mr. Sato explained.

Ok.

Swish!

What? Not even a scratch on the dummy.

"Those dummies are extremely durable, the only way you will be able to damage them is if you truly master the basics of swordsmanship." Mr. Sato explained.

To be continued…
