Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3 THE LAYERS

K glanced at his wristwatch while A spoke. "Your watch is the same as mine."K smiled and continued, "So… we are in the layers. How about we play chess, A?"A smiled and nodded in agreement. They played chess. A lost two rounds and won one.K said, "Well, you managed to win at least one round this time. Not like last time, when you lost all three."A asked, "So what now?"K replied, "Take a look at the chess pieces. Look at the pawn." He picked it up. "Remember this: everyone in this world starts like a pawn. Almost 98 percent of people will live their entire lives as pawns. Anyone can use them easily. Now take a look at the knight. These are the ones who are slightly smarter than pawns. They know how to use them. The rook represents those who have potential but don't know how to use it. These three types make up 98 percent of the world's population. Then come the elites, divided into three categories: the Bishop — the influencer; the Queen — the money holder; and the King — the power holder. They make up 1.99 percent of the world population, the elite class. The Bishop knows how to manipulate people and gain their sympathy and support. He can do anything to get it. He won't think twice about harming himself just to blame his enemies, or even killing someone for fake PR and publicity. He can twist the truth for his own benefit without caring how many families he destroys. The Queen holds money — the second most powerful force in the world. These people can do whatever they want: kill, assault, humiliate, mock others, or commit any evil crime. And the fun fact is that no one can touch them because of the money they possess. Finally, the King — the power holder. He has the political power to control the Bishops and Queens. He uses them however he likes, in any way he wants."A asked, "Then what about the remaining 0.01 percent?"K replied, "Your curiosity reminds me of the saying — sometimes curiosity kills the bird. Do you really want to know who belongs to that 0.01 percent?"A hesitated for a moment, then said, "I… I want to know."K smiled. "As expected from a curious person. They are the Masters."A looked confused. "What do you mean by Master?"K replied, "A Master is something beyond the normal human world. No, he is not a god. He is a human who holds control over everyone. He lives in the shadows. Nobody knows his true identity — not his face, not his voice, nothing. The only thing visible is the move he plays."K picked up the king, queen, and bishop pieces. "Do you know, A? He holds these three in his hands and knows exactly how to use them. There are only a few Masters in the present world — maybe two or four."A said, "How do you know about them? I don't think someone like that even exists. You're lying."K replied calmly, "You really think so? I'm not lying. It's true. It's not your fault for thinking this way. A Master never reveals his identity. He can be anyone — a normal person, a broken man, an office worker. It can be a man or a woman, young or old, someone with a family or completely alone."K looked directly at A, who seemed a little confused. "It could even be you… or me. Nobody knows how he acts. He is a master of manipulation. He knows exactly when to make his next move. He is always ten steps ahead of us. He calculates every single possibility before playing. He knows everyone's weaknesses and how to use them. But the most important thing is this: if anyone wants to become a Master, he must first understand everything about this world. Do you know, A, how hard it is to learn the truth of this world?"A replied hesitantly, "I want to know. Tell me."K smiled. "Are you sure? There is no turning ba—"A interrupted him, "Tell me."K simply smiled.
