Chapter 9 - chapter: 9 (mission started)

The morning air in the command center felt heavy with anticipation. Every screen was calibrated, and every officer stood at their station, waiting for the signal that would change everything. The weight of an entire nation seemed to rest on the shoulders of the men standing at the central table. So that day has come for India's future.

Veer stood at the head of the room, his eyes scanning the monitors before settling on his most trusted team members. The silence was absolute as he prepared to give the final orders.

Veer: "Anmol and Hardik, you both should give us information about anything unusual that happens. Hardik, you will be tracking every single connection."

Hardik nodded, his fingers already hovering over the keys, ready to weave through the digital threads of the country's infrastructure. Veer then turned his gaze toward Jataksha and Shivansh, his voice steady and commanding.

"Jataksha, you will listen to my orders and Shivansh will be with you. If anything unusual happens anywhere, go there and give me detailed information about what is going on."

The gravity of the mission was reflected in their solemn expressions. To ensure they remained a cohesive unit despite the distance that would soon separate them, Veer produced a set of specialized gear. He held them up so the light caught the sleek, metallic finish of the devices.

Veer: "I am giving you these earpods. Don't think these are ordinary earpods. They do not work like normal ones. They will stay connected without any phone or network, so we will be in contact everywhere."

With the comms distributed and the roles defined, the final phase began. The preparation had been exhaustive, leaving no room for error. Veer had prepared every plan to save India.

After one hour—

The initial silence of the mission was shattered by a sharp chime from the Southern monitoring station. Hardik's face grew pale as he watched a series of red spikes bloom across his map. He pressed his earpiece, his voice cutting through the tension of the room.

Hardik: "Anmol sir, something unusual is happening in the Southern block of Odisha, in a small town named Bauda."

Anmol leaned over the console, his heart hammering against his ribs. The location was specific, too specific to be a coincidence.

Anmol: "What is happening there?"

Hardik: "The signal which we were experiencing at the headquarters—some kind of signals are being detected there."

The realization hit Anmol like a physical blow. The ghost in their system had finally manifested in the real world. He turned to Veer, his voice rising with the urgency of the discovery.

Anmol (Alert): "Chief! Go to south block. In Bauda district of Odisha, the signals we were tracking are being detected."

Veer didn't hesitate. The time for planning was over; the time for action had arrived. He tapped his comms to patch through to the regional strike teams.

Veer: "Roger that. I will send troops there. Jataksha, send some troops to the Bauda area."

Jataksha: "Yes, Sir! I am sending troops immediately, but I want to contact one person for help."

Even as the orders for the south were being dispatched, a new alarm began to wail from the northern sector. The monitors displaying the Himalayan borders began to flicker with the same haunting frequency they had seen before.

Anmol: "One more target has been fixed in the northern side, but I can't get its exact location. It is most probably Kashmir. I am briefing the army and police forces immediately. What is going to happen to India's future?"

The uncertainty in Anmol's voice was a rare sign of the pressure they were under. Veer remained the anchor, his mind moving three steps ahead of the unfolding chaos.

Veer: "Roger that. I am finding some extra leads regarding these mysterious signals."

Jataksha: "I am conducting high army officials very soon. It needs some time."

Veer looked at the map of India, now glowing with points of interference. He knew that the cost of failure was unthinkable. He spoke not just to the room, but to the spirit of the mission itself.

Veer: "Good. We have to win this, no matter what it costs. To secure the gates of India, to protect India, and to protect the world."

But the enemy was faster than they had anticipated. The individual spikes of energy suddenly merged into a single, overwhelming wave that washed across every sensor in the building. The equipment began to whine under the strain.

Anmol (Shouting): "Chief! Suddenly, signals have been detected everywhere in India."

The world seemed to hold its breath for a split second. At that moment, when Anmol was talking about the signal, suddenly, in the capital of India — Delhi — a massive blast occurred.
