Practice today went extra long, for some reason it seemed Jade just wasn't satisfied with the team's performance. Not that anyone did a horrible job per say. What made it extra long honestly was that she'd say let's run it one more time and then call it day. But she kept saying that after every run...
I was now sitting in the locker room with my hands behind me as I took a breather. "I think Jade is trying to kill us" little Red said as she plopped down next to me. "And she kept saying last time every time" she whimpered softly as she massaged her muscles.
Last time every time, huh that sounded kinda funny actually.
"She's not trying to kill us, trust me if she wanted to do that we'd be here a hell of a lot longer" I half joked. Jade held us for so long once I swear it felt like the next day had started before I could do anything else.
"Hey how about we get some drinks to relax" I thought it might be nice to hang out. Joey was still in class and Barrett was at the gym. Granted he probably wouldn't mind if I paid him a visit at the gym, but I wanted to relax. Not get even more sore.
"Oh sure thing! There's this really quant arcade bar we can check out!" Little Red seemed to beam with sudden life and energy. Seems Jade hadn't worked her too hard!
We each took a quick shower and got changed up before heading out to the bar. I had never been to an arcade bar before though Jen had invited me once before. Her girlfriend had gotten sick though and we ended up not going.
The bar was within walking distance although I had never noticed it before. It was a small building separated from all the others in the area. Inside the bar had an area with a bunch of arcade games that were free to play. They also had corner sections with consoles that had multiplayer games loaded onto them and multiple controllers. Oh Joey would love this bar!
We made our way to the bar itself and I looked over the menu. All of the drinks were references to games. "Um ok, so how do you know what's good and what's bad?" I asked as I looked it over. I assumed the Bowsette's Fire was a hard drink...
"Well I could give you a sample if you want" the gentleman behind the bar stated. He had light brown hair and baby blue eyes. He was wearing a dark vest with a purple shirt underneath with the sleeves rolled up.
"Oh good idea!" Red said as she quickly scanned the entire menu. "May I sample the um Nuka-Cola?" Oh I think that's from a game Joey likes.
"Sure thing beautiful" the gentleman said and went straight to work getting her a sample. He put down a glass and poured the drink, just enough for maybe a shot or two. Red tried it and her eyes lit up "I'll take it!"
The man chuckled and poured her a full glass. "And for you?" He asked me as I realized I still hadn't decided on anything.
"Oh um..." I looked over the menu. Most of it made no sense to me. There were some references I got, but most felt foreign. Eventually I noticed a cocktail simply called Kirby. Well Kirby is cute and I do love the games. "I'll try the Kirby" I really hope it doesn't taste bad...
"Coming right up" the man served me a quick sample. I drank some and found it was sweet, with a taste of strawberries. "Yea, I'll keep this" I giggled as I finished off my sample.
The man gave me my drink and we headed over to one of the consoles to play while we drank. "So Joey told me the two of you have been hanging out quite a bit" I said as I picked my smash character.
"Oh um yea... We've gone bowling and stuff, nothing too crazy" she replied back, I could tell she was feeling a little nervous. It helps that she's super obvious about it. Honestly it's almost cute.
"Well I'm glad you two are having fun. Honestly sometimes I feel bad for Joey. Seems most people don't really give him the time of day. He's so sweet too, but he also doesn't really put himself out there. Not that, that's a bad thing."
I could practically see the gears turning in her head as I spoke. I had to hold back my laugh, it was a little fun to toy with her I had to admit. "Yea he is super sweet. Your very lucky to have him."
I let it sit at that while we played for a bit. I won a few rounds, she won a few rounds and we had a couple of drinks. Nothing too crazy. Little Red spent most of the time laughing, giggling, and bouncing around in her seat.
We finished playing and she leaned back on the seat as she finished her last drink. "So Red, do you like Joey?" I asked rather bluntly which made her face shift about three different hues.
"Oh well he's super nice!" She offered as an answer. I laughed as I sat back and looked her over. Joey told me about her white shirt situation. I wonder, if she hadn't worn a bra would Joey have still shared the story?
"Red, you're cute" I said with a smile. Her eyes were wide and she played with her hair as she looked at me like a deer in the headlights. "I'm not saying you have to; but I just wanted to let you know. If you ever wanted too..." I paused, hesitating for a split second. Guess this is it "I would be ok with sharing him. With you that is. Or at least... Sexually."
Red opened her mouth to speak, closed it and tried again. This went on for about a minute before she finally spoke actual words. "You're saying I can sleep with you're boyfriend?" She asked it as though every word was in fact a question.
"So long as you don't tell anyone else, sure" I shrugged as I stood up. "It's not like I offer this to everyone but... I think you and Joey would make a good match. I already told Joey as much."
Red looked around as if waiting for something to happen. She slowly stood up and looked me over as if trying to determine if I were lying or not. "I don't really understand..." She admitted.
"Not much too understand really. You and Joey can have sex with my blessing if you both want too. But nobody can know. We don't want people saying weird shit."
Red nodded, I could tell her head was spinning with a million thoughts. I chuckled as I walked over to the bar to close out our tab. She followed along quietly, clearly still in shock.
I paid for our drinks and we headed out. As we walked to her dorm I talked about cheer practice and an upcoming football game we were going to perform at. Honestly the games were not the most exciting, the real fun came in the form of the competitions.
Red talked back just fine, but it was clear by offer was lingering on her mind. We reached her dorm and I said goodbye, making my way to Joey's afterwards.
I opened up his door and walked in to find him sitting down reading a book. It looked like some sort of coding book. "Hey love" I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Hey, how was practice?" He put the book away and spun his chair to face me as I laid down on his bed. "Alright, I hung out with little miss Red afterwards. Told her about being cool with you two sleeping together if you want."
Joey bit his lips before asking "and what did she say?"
I laughed and rolled over "my, my don't get too excited now." I heard Joey get up from his chair and he walked over to the bed. Climbing on and laying over me. "Did you ask her just to tease me?"
I laughed at his joke though I could tell he was actually a little worried. "She didn't say much honestly. But I think if you two want to sleep together, you two need to talk about it. Just let me know, ok?"
Joey cuddled up with me, burying his head against my chest as I ran my fingers through his hair. "Jessy, you're really something else." I couldn't help but laugh. Why must they both be so cute.
