KAYLA'S POV:
That trashy girl was staring at me like she wanted to eat me alive and prey on me. But she didn't know I'm not easy to swallow. I'm a bone, one that'll make her choke or straight-up food poisoning.
"The second game starts!" the coach announced.
She was being extremely bitchy during the game, but she didn't know that if she's a bitch, then I'm a wolf, an alpha wolf. I'll prey on her before she even gets close to me.
Now this was the last ball.
I held the racket and hit the shot that sent the ball flying like a fireball.
And… Victory.
I win!
"The Wolves team wins!" the coach announced.
"Yahoo! Yippee!" I danced happily in the gym as our team cheered loudly.
The coach handed the trophy to our team, and Hari passed it to me.
"It's yours…"
"It's ours," I corrected him. "We all did our best."
I'm not a selfish bitch who takes all the credit, even if I wanted to.
"But you deserve it," he said with a gentle smile, extending his hand for a handshake.
I froze for a moment, overwhelmed with joy. First the win, and then this, it was too much happiness at once.
I finally shook his hand. Our first handshake.
Then he pulled back, gave me a high-five, and said, "Nice game."
Yeah… very, very nice game.
He walked away.
But I stayed frozen in my place. His praise, the high-five, the handshake, it was all too much. For a moment, everything felt like a dream.
Then I realized it was real.
And I started blushing and giggling nonstop.
