Chapter 1 - Prologue / Intro: When Paths Collide

"It was a night she barely remembered—a fleeting moment of reckless abandon, the kind that leaves a mark long after the music has faded and the lights have dimmed. She had felt free, untouchable, and for a few hours, the world belonged only to her and a man whose face she would never forget."

Yet life had a way of tying loose ends together.

Three years later, Alexandria Bolivar walked through the revolving doors of a towering glass skyscraper, her laptop clutched under one arm and a neatly packed bag for her son dangling from the other. Her heart thumped—not with fear, but with the anticipation of proving herself. She had built a life from scratch: a Harvard degree, a respectable career, and a little boy named Yuto, her secret, her pride, and her greatest responsibility.

Her heels clicked against the polished marble floor as she approached the reception desk. The office buzzed with quiet efficiency, employees moving with purpose, phones ringing, keyboards clacking—a world of control and power. It was everything she had worked for, everything she had fought to earn, and yet a whisper of doubt lingered at the edges of her mind.

Her manager would meet her shortly. She didn't yet know that he—the man who had once shared the most intimate night of her life—was somewhere in this very building. He had grown even taller, sharper, more commanding. And just like that night, something unspoken pulled at the edges of her heart.

Alex took a deep breath, steadying herself. Yuto was safe at home, and for now, this was her world. This office, this building, this challenge—it was hers to conquer. She was ready.

But fate had other plans.

Some paths, once crossed, refuse to stay apart.

And behind a polished oak desk, in an office just a few floors above, Yujiro sat reviewing reports, unaware that the universe had already begun weaving their lives together again.

Their paths were about to collide.
