Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 : Behind closed eyes

After Mr. Lee left,

Rabina stood up, walked toward Rohan, gently brushing his shoulder and said,

"Oooh Rohan, don't be angry. I'll take revenge."

Rohan shrugged her hand off his shoulder and shouted,

"This all happened because of you! If you hadn't behaved like that with Ms. Garcia, none of this would have happened."

Rabina snapped back angrily,

"Oh excuse me! You're not the only one who can show anger. What Ms. Garcia did, she deserved it."

Rohan's anger grew. He yelled even louder,

"If the school and my father get involved again, do you know what I'll do to you one day?"

Rabina, furious, threw her phone and screamed,

"Don't act like only you and your father run this school! My father's funding keeps this school alive, so shut your mouth!"

Rohan grabbed Rabina by the collar and said coldly,

"Shut up! If you say another word, I'll forget what you ever meant to me. Got it?"

Rabina's eyes filled with tears, her throat tightened.

In a broken voice she said,

"Oh… so you'll forget me? That means you never really did. Forget me then. If I had learned to love myself as much as I loved you, things would have been different."

Hearing this, Rohan pushed her away and said,

"Don't act dramatic. I know everything. Don't try to come near me again."

Rohan angrily threw his phone and stormed out of the classroom.

Bella and Grace ran to Rabina and tried to help her up, but Rabina stayed on the floor, crying. Holding Bella's hand, she tried to say something—

but before she could finish, the bell rang.

Raha sat silently, watching everything in shock.

Subin quickly grabbed Raha's hand and took her out to the canteen.

They sat in a corner. Raha wanted to ask Subin about Mina and Ms. Garcia,

but Subin didn't understand her gestures.

So Raha left him there and ran back to the classroom to get her notebook.

At that moment, Rohan came out of another room and they collided.

Raha fell to the floor.

She was terrified. Rohan stared at her sharply, but for a moment, he seemed lost in her eyes. He wanted to say something, but couldn't.

Raha quickly stood up and bowed slightly in fear, trying to apologize.

She struggled to form words, tears streamed down her face, and her hands and legs began to tremble.

Rohan realized then that the girl was mute.

He looked away, said nothing, and walked off.

Raha finally caught her breath, wiped her tears, and returned to the classroom.

Inside, she saw Rabina, Grace, and Bella sitting there.

With her head lowered, Raha went to her seat, picked up her notebook, and turned to leave when Rabina called out,

"Raha Enderson!"

Raha froze and slowly turned around.

"I heard you're very close to Mina Lee," Rabina said.

Raha didn't respond, just stood there with her head down.

Grace sneered,

"You're mute, not deaf. Answer her! Or you know what will happen."

Raha shook her head silently.

Rabina smirked,

"Hmmm… okay. Did Mina ever say anything about us?"

Raha shook her head again — no.

Bella shouted,

"Tell the truth!"

She grabbed Raha by the collar just as Subin entered the classroom looking for her.

Seeing everything, Subin shouted,

"What are you doing? Don't you know she can't speak? Leave her alone!"

Rabina walked over, placed her hand on Subin's cheek, and leaned close,

"Ooooh… why? Are you starting to like her now?"

Subin removed her hand and said firmly,

"Think before you speak. You came to me — not the other way around. And Rohan knows that very well."

Bella scoffed,

"Ooo Subin, looks like you've become very bold. Don't you know how to talk to us?"

Subin smiled calmly,

"Trying to scare me? You know which family I belong to. I don't say anything to Rohan because our fathers are close friends. But who are you? Why should I be polite to you?

And remember — one day the positions will change. I'll be where Rohan is, and he'll be where I stand now. So shut up."

Subin pulled Raha along and left the classroom.

Bella muttered,

"He's changed. He wasn't like this before."

Grace replied,

"Hmmm. And we can't even touch him."

Rabina said coldly,

"Why not? Just because he belongs to a powerful family doesn't mean he's untouchable. His time will come."

Bella added,

"But you used to like him, didn't you?"

Rabina laughed,

"I like all rich boys. Like your brother. His time will come too."

Subin and Raha left the school and went their separate ways.

On the road, Raha spotted Mina at a café and ran toward her. Mina was surprised and happy to see her.

Raha took out her notebook and wrote,

"Why didn't you come to school today?"

Mina looked down and said softly,

"I won't study at that school anymore."

Raha was shocked and wrote,

"Why?"

"For Rabina and the others," Mina replied.

Raha wrote,

"Will you tell me what happened? Why do they treat you like that? And why can't your father do anything? He's a teacher at that school."

Mina sighed,

"There was a teacher at our school — Ms. Garcia. She was very kind. One day she scolded Rabina for not doing her homework.

After that, Rabina, Bella, and Grace started bullying her. It became unbearable. One day, in front of teachers, Rabina slapped her and cut her hair.

Ms. Garcia couldn't take it anymore… and she ended her life in front of the school."

Raha felt her breath stop, fear spreading through her body.

Mina continued,

"They target me because while they were torturing Ms. Garcia, I secretly recorded everything and gave it to the principal, hoping he would take action.

But the principal, Mr. Duke Watson, is Bella's father — and the director's brother. After that… everything started."

Raha didn't ask anything more. She sat silently.

Mina took Raha shopping. They looked at clothes.

Mina smiled and said,

"Raha, you're really a sweet girl."

Raha smiled faintly, but fear still lingered in her eyes.

Mina shook her playfully,

"Hey! I want to tell you something."

Raha gestured, What?

Mina smiled,

"I think Subin likes you."

Raha quickly gestured, No, no!

Mina laughed,

"Yes! Last night Subin called me asking about you — why you joined the school, why you're so quiet, where you live, whether you'll come to school tomorrow…"

She laughed again.

"I'm telling you, he likes you."

Raha quickly wrote,

"What happened between Rabina, Rohan, and Subin?"

Mina explained,

"Rohan and Rabina used to date. But Rabina also liked Subin. She even proposed to him at school, but Subin rejected her.

Rohan found out, and since then he can't stand Rabina."

Raha wrote,

"Ohhh… it's getting late. I should go home now."

Mina nodded,

"Okay."

Raha held Mina's hand and wrote,

"Please don't leave the school. Try apologizing once. Maybe they'll forgive you."

Mina shook her head,

"Are you crazy? They'll never forgive me. And I'll never step into that school again. But I'll miss you."

Raha became emotional.

Mina gifted her a bracelet and said,

"This is a symbol of our friendship."

They said goodbye. Mina ran out of the mall.

Raha stood watching. As she stepped onto the road,

she suddenly collided with a Lamborghini.
