Chapter 210 - filler 26

The Tactical Woodcutter

With a harsh, jarring edit, the scene violently transitioned away from the political melodrama.

The screen faded into a completely silent, immaculate, highly polished locker room. The lighting was dark, gritty, and incredibly dramatic. The camera slowly panned down a row of metal lockers until it settled on the back of a single, highly muscular man.

He was getting ready for work.

The cinematography slowed down to a crawling, intense, highly cinematic slow-motion sequence, treating the man's preparation like a legendary space marine gearing up for a galactic war.

First, he stepped into a pair of heavy-duty, reinforced, fire-retardant tactical trousers. They were stylized like firefighter gear but heavily armored with thick titanium knee pads and reinforced shin guards—specially engineered for the absolute, life-threatening danger of cutting wood. He slammed his feet into a pair of massive, steel-toed combat boots, yanking the heavy laces tight with a sharp, echoing snap.

Next, he pulled on his specialized forest department jacket. It was heavily padded, lined with military-grade Kevlar, and covered in high-visibility reflective strips, looking thick enough to survive a point-blank explosion. He violently aggressively zipped it up to his chin.

He grabbed a pair of thick, heavy-grip leather gauntlets, sliding them onto his hands and flexing his fingers as the leather creaked dramatically. He reached onto the metal bench and picked up a heavy, reinforced tactical helmet equipped with a thick, bulletproof face shield. He strapped it under his chin, reaching up to click on the heavy-duty, military-grade flashlight mounted to the side of the helmet.

Click-clack.

Then, the man turned toward a massive, foam-lined weapons case. He casually reached inside, pulling out a heavy-caliber, fully automatic assault rifle. He slapped a massive extended magazine into the receiver, racked the slide back with a heavy metallic clack, and slung the lethal weapon over his shoulder. He reached back into the case, grabbed a serrated combat knife, and slid it directly into a tactical sheath strapped to his chest.

Suddenly, the booming, dramatic orchestral music completely muted.

A deep, gritty, movie-trailer narrator voice echoed through the film, completely breaking the fourth wall in the middle of the intense montage.

"The brave officer loaded his heavy-caliber assault rifle," the narrator's voice boomed, before suddenly stopping and completely breaking character. "Wait. I'm sorry, what the fuck? I am just reading the script here, but... I literally don't know what a forest officer has to do with fully automatic military firearms. Why is he taking guns? Are they expecting the trees to form a militia and shoot back? This makes absolutely zero logistical sense. Whatever. Just keep rolling."

The orchestral music violently blasted back through the speakers as if the interruption had never happened.

The tactical woodcutter reached into the final locker. He gripped the handle of a massive, heavily modified, dual-exhaust industrial chainsaw. He ripped the pull-cord, and the heavy machinery roared to life, spitting thick black smoke and echoing with terrifying, unadulterated mechanical power.

The Apocalyptic Convoy

The heavily armed, fully armored woodcutter kicked open the double doors of the locker room and stepped out into the blazing sunlight.

As the camera panned out to a massive, sweeping aerial shot, it revealed that he was not alone.

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder in the massive concrete courtyard were thousands upon thousands of identical, heavily armored, gun-toting woodcutters. It looked like an entire private military contractor army preparing to invade a sovereign nation. They were standing in perfect, terrifying military formation, their chainsaws revving in deafening unison.

With a sharp, authoritative whistle, the army of lumberjacks began moving out. They marched in aggressive synchronization, boarding a massive, endless fleet of heavy-duty, armored transport buses.

But the sheer scale of the operation didn't stop there.

To escort the woodcutters to the forest, the government had apparently mobilized its entire national defense budget. The camera violently swooped through the air, capturing the absolute insanity of the convoy.

Dozens of federal police cruisers with their red and blue sirens screaming led the way. Behind them rolled heavily armored military personnel carriers, massive national army tanks grinding their steel treads against the asphalt, and flatbed transport trucks carrying elite special forces units holding heavy machine guns.

WUMP-WUMP-WUMP-WUMP!

A massive squadron of military attack helicopters violently chopped through the clouds overhead, providing close-air support for the buses full of lumberjacks.

The entire, apocalyptic convoy rumbled down the massive concrete highway, a terrifying, unstoppable mechanical beast of war, moving with absolute, unyielding military precision toward a patch of woods just to cut down some trees.

The Unmasking of Bunti

The massive, terrifying convoy of tanks, heavily armored transport buses, and military helicopters finally screeched to a halt at the absolute edge of a beautifully serene, perfectly untouched, vibrant green forest.

The heavy steel doors of the lead transport bus hissed open.

The camera violently zoomed in, utilizing a highly dramatic, slow-motion low-angle shot as the heavily armored, Kevlar-wearing tactical woodcutter stepped down onto the dirt. The booming movie-trailer narrator's voice returned, echoing majestically over the dramatic background music.

"This man, standing before the ancient woods, is our hero," the narrator announced deeply, before pausing and letting out a highly unenthusiastic sigh. "His name is Bunti. Yes, obviously his name is Bunti. Everyone already knows his fucking name because it is literally printed on the front of the CD case you just bought. Why am I even doing character introductions? Anyway, back to the script."

Bunti stood tall, the wind dramatically fluttering the high-visibility reflective strips on his military-grade jacket. He stared up at the massive, ancient oak tree standing at the very front of the tree line.

He slowly reached behind his back and gripped the handle of his dual-exhaust industrial chainsaw.

"Finally," Bunti whispered, his voice gritty, deep, and unnecessarily emotional. "I am going to do the thing which I have wanted to do for a very, very long period of time. I am going to cut down a piece of wood."

He ripped the pull-cord.

VRRRR-VROOOOM!

The massive chainsaw roared to life, spitting thick black smoke into the pristine forest air. Bunti raised the roaring, jagged blade above his head, his eyes burning with absolute, woodcutting determination. He stepped forward, swinging the heavy machinery down toward the thick bark of the ancient tree.

"It is going to be cut now!" Bunti screamed heroically.

BOOM!

Before the spinning blades could even touch the bark, the deafening, bone-rattling blast of a heavy-caliber shotgun violently shattered the cinematic tension.

A massive spread of buckshot ripped through the air, completely bypassing Bunti's bulletproof chest plate and slamming directly into his shins.

"Argh!" Bunti yelled, dropping the heavy chainsaw as his legs completely gave out. He violently collapsed into the dirt in dramatic slow-motion, clutching his knees as the camera aggressively shook to emphasize the impact.

The Hypocritical Savior

As the thick, grey gunpowder smoke slowly cleared from the clearing, a figure emerged from the bushes, holding a smoking, double-barreled shotgun.

It was the Forest Minister.

He stepped out of the foliage, completely ignoring the fact that he was currently surrounded by thousands of heavily armed military guards, and threw his head back toward the sky.

"Gyaa ha ha ha! He he he he!" the Forest Minister cackled wildly, his signature, deeply deranged evil laugh echoing through the trees.

But then, in an absolute, mind-bending pivot of character development, the Minister violently dropped his shotgun, puffed out his chest, and pointed a deeply heroic, righteous finger at the fallen lumberjack.

"Stop this right now!" the Forest Minister commanded, his voice suddenly dripping with pure, angelic morality. "I am the savior! I am the ultimate, unwavering preserver for all of the forests in this entire nation! And I will absolutely not allow you to cut these beautiful trees! I won't let you do this!"

The sheer, unadulterated hypocrisy of the statement hung in the air for exactly two seconds before the Commander of the tactical woodcutters—a massive, scarred military officer—violently stepped forward.

"You fucking liar!" the Officer roared, his face turning purple with administrative rage as he pointed his assault rifle at the Minister. "You were the exact person who ordered us to do this thing! This entire convoy was deployed under your official federal signature! Without the administrative approval of a fucking Forest Minister, we literally cannot cut these forests, you absolute idiot! These were the direct orders given by you!"

The Officer aggressively paced back and forth, entirely breaking any semblance of a subtle plotline to explicitly scream a major plot twist out loud.

"And I know that for a fact because... plot twist!" the Officer yelled, dramatically ripping off his military beret. "I am secretly the CEO of one of those evil corporations! Yes! I spent four grueling years in the military academy and climbed the ranks of the federal guard just so I could personally oversee this exact logging operation! I am the one who gave you those massive bribes! I funded your entire election! I need this entire ancient forest chopped down so my company can manufacture premium, single-use wooden toothpicks for luxury restaurants! My profit margins will be financially ruined if you magically decide to be an environmentalist now, you fucking idiot!"

The Forest Minister didn't even blink at the explicit admission of a ten-year undercover corporate espionage operation just to secure a toothpick monopoly. He just slowly shook his head, placing a highly innocent, tragically misunderstood hand over his heart.

"You monsters just want to cut the tree," the Forest Minister whispered melodramatically, a single, highly fake tear rolling down his cheek as he completely ignored the bribery allegations. "You just want to destroy Mother Nature to clean your teeth after eating expensive steaks. I am a pure man of the woods. I have never seen a bribe in my entire life. That offshore bank account registered under the name 'Definitely Not The Forest Minister' is a complete, unadulterated coincidence."

The Minister dramatically threw his arms out wide, acting like a holy martyr sacrificing himself for the greater good.

"I will not allow you!" the Minister screamed, his voice cracking with terrible acting. "If you want to cut this forest... the chainsaw has to pass through my physical body first!"
