"Naturally, I'm here to see your pathetic look," Yamato said, resting one hand on her hip with a slight curl at the corner of her mouth.
"Hmm?" Kaido's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze becoming sharper. This stinky brat was at it again.
Just as Kaido thought Yamato would continue her verbal assault, she simply walked to the side and sat down. She grabbed a wine gourd, popped the cork, and began to drink directly from it. Seeing this, Kaido was a bit bewildered. What kind of act was this? In his memory, his "good eldest son" had never even touched alcohol before.
"What kind of wine is this? It tastes terrible. Compared to Red Hair's wine, it's practically horse piss. Idiot old man, your taste is way too poor. Our Beasts Pirates' territory is so large, can't we collect some good wine to drink?" Yamato smade her lips in disgust.
"Horse piss?" Kaido's eyes twitched. "Stinky brat, if you don't understand taste, then keep your mouth shut. Stop talking nonsense."
"I'm telling the truth and you're still unhappy. Tsk tsk, don't you know that 'honest advice is hard on the ears'? Forget it, after all, you're just an uneducated illiterate, so I won't hold it against you," Yamato shrugged. She set down the wine gourd she had taken a large gulp from and stuffed the wooden cork back in.
"Yamato, I think you're itching for a beating," Kaido growled, crushing the wine gourd in his hand. His long whiskers fluttered with rage.
"What's wrong, what's wrong? Idiot old man, are you going to have a fight with me? If so, I'd be more than happy to," Yamato stood up and looked at him with a confident smile. She wasn't afraid of her father at all now. Her Haki had caught up to his level, not to mention her powerful Zoan fruit abilities. If they really fought, her chances of winning might even be higher.
"Hmph, get out!" Kaido shouted. He didn't want to fight Yamato at all right now. There was no joy in it anymore; he was likely to suffer a loss, and he couldn't actually use lethal force against her. Furthermore, King often reminded him not to mess around with Yamato.
"Fine, fine, I'll get out. Idiot old man, you're already in your fifties, don't be so irritable all the time. Be careful not to enter menopause early. If it gets serious and you get Alzheimer's, it'll be all over. At least show some consideration for me, your daughter. I'll have to take care of you in your old age, which is quite a hassle, you know," Yamato rattled on, acting as if she were deeply concerned about his health.
"Get out! If you don't leave now, I'll hit you with my club!" Veins bulged on Kaido's forehead. Was this stinky brat wishing for his downfall? Did she really think he couldn't hear the sarcasm dripping from her voice?
"I'm gone, I'm gone," Yamato patted her backside, turned around, and sauntered out.
"Dammit, that cursed stinky brat. She must have come here on purpose just to anger me. I finally had some interest in drinking, and now it's all gone," Kaido grumbled, feeling extremely irritable. Immediately, he thought of a solution: in the future, whenever he was drinking, he would have people guard the door. As long as Yamato showed up, his subordinates would drive her away.
A few hours later, Yamato received a call from King.
"Young Master, did you go to Big Brother's place again? He just ordered that you're never allowed to see him again..."
Hearing King's words, Yamato burst into laughter. "It must have been hard for him to come up with such a method. I get it, I won't go looking for him anymore."
"You guys really are..." King was speechless. He hadn't expected his Big Brother to stoop to such tactics. It was evident how frustrated Kaido had been made by Yamato.
Will my own child become like this one day? King thought. If that were the case, he decided it would be better not to have children at all.
Yamato returned to Maria and Haruko in a cheerful mood.
"Yamato, you're really hated by Lord Kaido now," Maria said. Both she and Haruko had already received the news. They hadn't expected that Yamato simply going to see Kaido once would result in a permanent ban.
"If he hates me, he hates me. Anyway, I don't care if he likes me. What he likes is violence and war, and I can't become like that," Yamato replied dismissively. She wasn't a child; whether he liked or hated her didn't matter. In the end, they still had to make do and live together.
"There you go saying those things again," Maria and Haruko sighed, used to her attitude.
Two days later, Jack was preparing to go out to sea again. This time, no matter what, he refused to stay on the same ship as Yamato. He arranged a separate ship for her directly.
"You go to that ship. Don't come to mine," Jack said with a stern face, physically blocking the gangway.
"Jack, I know you're looking out for me and worried about my safety, but what's our relationship? We're iron brothers! Don't worry, I can definitely protect myself," Yamato said, trying to squeeze past him.
"Stop being so narcissistic. Get on that ship!" Jack exerted all his strength to block her, refusing to let her set foot on his deck.
Seeing Jack desperately blocking Yamato with his muscles bulging, Haruko held her forehead and sighed. She walked over and pulled Yamato away. "Young Master, if you keep this up, Lord Jack is going to transform into his mammoth form right here."
"He hasn't transformed yet, though," Yamato curled her lip.
"Don't let the subordinates see this farce," Haruko insisted, dragging Yamato onto the neighboring pirate ship.
Seeing Haruko drag Yamato away, Jack finally breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, there was someone who could control her; otherwise, he would have a nervous breakdown sooner or later.
Soon, the fleet set off. After heading out to sea, Jack continued his usual routine: searching for pirate crews, annexing them, and expanding the scale of the Beasts Pirates. Half a year passed quickly in this manner. Finally, it was time for the Beasts Pirates to make the first artificial Devil Fruit transaction with Joker.
"Jack, the fleet loaded with weapons has already departed from Wano Country. They will meet up with you midway, and then you'll head to the trading location to complete this transaction," King said to Jack over the Transponder Snail.
"I understand, Second Brother. There won't be any problems with this transaction," Jack guaranteed.
"Good, then I'll leave it to you," King hung up.
Jack walked to the stern and looked at Yamato, who was drinking tea on the other pirate ship. "Hey, Yamato! The first artificial Devil Fruit transaction is about to start. The trading location is Poke Island. Don't go there; just go do whatever you want."
"The artificial Devil Fruit transaction is starting? Fine, anyway, I have no interest in it," Yamato agreed without a second thought.
Hearing Yamato's answer, Jack was overjoyed. I can finally shake off this piece of sticky candy! If the occasion hadn't been so serious, he would have jumped for joy on the spot.
"Men, change course! Destination: Poke Island!" Jack immediately returned to the bow and barked orders. He felt it was better to leave as quickly as possible, fearing Yamato might change her mind and follow him. As long as he shook her off, he would finally be free.
The transaction involved a massive payment of 2,000,000,000 Berry, making it a high-stakes mission for the crew.
