Luthour, Tamika, and Eve emerged from the portal, ready to take on their mission. Luthour pulled out a tracker, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "Alright, let's get going," he said, leading the way.
As they trekked through the woods, a loud chopping sound echoed, followed by a tree crashing to the ground. The kids exchanged a glance, shrugged, and continued on their way.
Their destination was a small village, where they were greeted with chants of 'Heroes! Heroes!' The villagers offered them herbs and rotten fish, a humble welcome. Tamika & Eve humbly accepted their kind gesture and noticed the villagers ragged clothes, a testament to their poverty.
A woman pushed through the crowd, begging for help,tears were streaming down her face. The villagers shunned her, saying 'Get away from us!' or 'Your son is dead.' She refused to give up, insisting her son was still alive.
Luthour approached her, followed by Tamika and Eve. 'Ma'am, are you the one who requested our help?' he asked.
The woman hugged him, tears soaking his shirt. 'Thank God you finally arrived!'
She let go, hugging the girls, who tapped her back, gasping for air.
At her farmhouse, she told them her story ' I'm a single mother and I have but one child. My husband died a month ago trying to ward off those wretched goblins. After they killed him they dragged his body out into the open field and did unspeakable things to his corpse. I thought that we had seen the last of them , but I was sadly mistaken because two days ago they came back and abducted my son . So I reached out to your school and somehow God heard my prayers and brought me you three.'
She pulled out a picture of her son and showed it to them ' this is how he looks like, he's a curious boy with a bright smile. And those goblins took him away from me
The trio exchanged glances and vowed to save him.
Hours later, Team Beta stood before the forest where fairytales end, its darkness ominous. They were reluctant to enter it but they had to be courageous. after swallowing hard they entered, and were swallowed by the shadows.
While they were walking through the forest , they heard loud chopping sounds once more and alot of trees fell on the ground. they didn't bother trying to know who or what is chopping down trees. So they continued their journey and arrived at the mouth of the goblin cave
They entered it and realized that the goblins' den was a nightmare of skulls and bones. Tamika lit a torch, it's light flickered before revealing the horror around them. Eve almost screamed, but Luthour covered her mouth. 'Shh! They might hear us.'he whispered and asked ' if I let you go ,you won't scream right ?'
Eve nodded her head , assuring them that she won't. Much to Luthours dismay she tried to scream , again. Tamika took action and knocked her unconscious.
Later, Eve opened her eyes and noticed that she was tied up and a piece of cloth was wrapped around her mouth , preventing her from making any sound.
She ease dropped on Tamika and Luthours conversation,and heard Luthour explain the origin of goblins
'' Gobelinus or better known as Goblins are Diminutive, grotesque, and often malevolent humanoid creatures. They are around 30 cm tall , ugly in appearance, have big ears ,sharp teeth and green skin. They are believed to dwell in Subterranean areas or households,where they engage in acts ranging from pranks to murder similar to German kobolds.'
' what are kobalos?'
' the Kobalos "Hausgeister" are mischievous household or mine spirits from german folklore,often depicted as small , shape-shifting sprites that can be helpful or harmful,but in our modern days,they're usually small , reptilian humanoids known for cunning traps and dragon- kin traits '
Eve snuggled her way between the two of them and saw the goblins,they seemed to be sleeping which explained why Luthour and Tamika were speaking so freely about them. These goblins had long aquiline noses filled with pimples all around, their skin was dark green and they were very frail and small. if they were measured ,they would be roughly the same height as Luthour Goldenberg. One noticable feature about these goblins was their huge bellies, this meant that they were well fed. She caught a glimpse of the boy they are supposed to save , he was tied to a rock and couldn't escape.
' untie me!' she muffled her words
' should we ?' Luthour asked Tamika
' I don't know if we should.. ' Tamika said, giving it some thought and asked ' like , how certain can we be that she won't won't scream again after we untie her ?'
Luthour touched his chin thinking ' hmm...your probably right ,we can't be sure '
' I'm sorry for almost compromising the mission ,but were superheroes and our job is to save lives not lose them.' her words were brief yet inspiring nonetheless.
They untied her , and they explained their plan. Once everything was ready to be set in motion , Tamika walked around the Sleeping goblins, desperately trying not to wake them up.
One of the goblins rolled over , it's hand landed on her leg sending shivers of fear down her spine.
However,she remembered her training and maintained her composure.
She managed to reach the kid , untied him , and cautioned him not to make a sound. The kid nodded his head in agreement and followed her lead.
As they crept through the hord of unsuspecting goblins, Tamika stepped on a rib, alerting the goblins of intruders.
'Oh no... Run!!' Eve shouted.
Tamika fled with the kid, Luthour opening a portal for her. The goblins gave chase, shrieking with gret. They stampeded out of the cave after the kids ,their wretched grins hunting down joy and turning it into terror.
Luthour skeed to a stop. 'Tamika, take the child to safety; I'll hold them off.'
Eve slapped him on the head very hard. 'Don't be silly; we're a team.' Tamika smiled, putting the kid down to fight.
As the goblins charged, a giant tree crashed, squashing them. A man stood on the tree, axe in hand, his presence was unsettling. 'Timber!' he shouted with joy & excitement
Liam Goldenberg watched, as other teams exited his portals, brimming with excitement of finishing their missions.but two teams weren't back ,team Beta and team Omega,which was a cause for concern. After what happened last time , the teachers devised a plan that ensured the children's safety without compromising their overall growth . They assigned teachers to monitor them from afar so that if things got out of hand they can intervene.
Liam touched his ear, 'Mr. Cipher and Princess Sophia, how are your missions coming along?'
Mr. Cipher replied, 'Well, my team succeeded.'
But Princess Sophia's comms were off. Liam's eyes widened as he saw a man in blue jeans jump out of team Beta's portal . He crash landed on the ground and stood up laughing like a maniac' Hoowe! Now that was a ride .'
Liam fixed his gaze on the man's axe ,and noticed blood stains .he also recognized a piece of fabric that belongs to his son.
Liam's aura surged, putting students to sleep and causing teachers to vomit. The Lumberjack tip toed, dancing about, and within the blink of an eye he vanished ,only to reappear behind Liam, Axe swinging for the kill .
