Chapter 3 - 3 First Encounter

That night, the outside world was dark and quiet. The wind whispered through the branches, casting slowly moving shadows on the ground. She stood at the side of the road, her heart racing, hands clutching the note and the small ring the man had given her.

She paused, asking herself repeatedly: "What am I doing? Am I ready?" But the burning curiosity compelled her steps toward him. His silhouette was clear at the end of the road, his face partially hidden, yet his aura of mystery and calm made it impossible to look away.

He nodded slowly as he noticed her approaching. She sat on a nearby bench, and he remained silent for a moment. Only his gaze gripped her heart as if holding it in place.

"Why me?" she finally asked, her voice trembling slightly.

He smiled faintly, hiding a big secret, and said:

"Everything you are experiencing now is only the beginning. If you want to know the truth, you must follow me. There is no other way."

She remained silent. Her heart rebelled – fear, curiosity, and a strange feeling she couldn't explain. Every logical thought told her to turn and run, yet every emotion forced her to stay, listen, and wait.

He then opened the small box he had brought. Inside, a piece of paper and a silver ring. He handed it to her.

"It is symbolic," he said, his voice soft yet firm. "A symbol of trust. Without trust, you will never know the truth."

She took the ring with trembling hands. As their fingers nearly touched, she felt a strange current run through her body, as if an invisible bond connected them. Her heart raced faster, but an odd sense of certainty also emerged.

They walked slowly along the dark road, each step tense. The river beside the path reflected the moonlight, creating mysterious shadows that seemed to follow them.

She wanted to ask so many things – who he really was, the connection of the contract to her, and why her feelings were a mix of fear and trust. But every time she tried to speak, words stuck in her throat. Only his gaze gave unspoken answers: everything would be revealed, but in due time.

The night sky grew darker. The chilly air made her hairs stand on end. Every step felt filled with danger, but also a promise of mystery. Something would happen tonight, something that could change her life forever.

Suddenly, another shadow appeared from the riverside, a human figure unknown. He glanced briefly at it and said: "We are not alone. Be careful, every step from now on is risky."
