A Voice from Nowhere
The night was heavy, the wind rattling the windows of Ryan's small, worn‑down room on the outskirts of Astra City. He sat on his creaking wooden bed, staring at the cracked ceiling, unable to quiet the storm inside his mind. Tomorrow was the Day of Revelation. Tomorrow, every sixteen‑year‑old would stand before the Mirror of Fate. Tomorrow, they would learn the path their lives would follow. Everyone… except him.
He would stand before the mirror and see nothing, just as he always had.
He closed his eyes, trying to force himself to sleep.
Then—
TNNNNG…
A metallic chime pierced his skull. His eyes snapped open.
A glowing blue window hovered in the air before him, its light casting strange shadows across the room.
[System Installed]
[FateBreaker System – Version 0.01]
Ryan's heart pounded. He reached out, but his fingers passed through the floating screen.
"What… what is this? Am I dreaming?"
A new line appeared.
[Hello, Ryan. You are the only one without a fate. You are the exception.]
He stumbled backward until his back hit the wall.
"What do you want from me?"
[I want what you want… freedom.]
Before he could respond, another window materialized.
[Starter Mission: Break Your First Fate]
[Target: Liana – Fate: Betrayal]
[Time Limit: 24 hours]
Ryan's breath caught in his throat.
Liana… his only friend.
"Why her?"
[Because her fate leads to your death.]
His blood ran cold.
[Begin the game… or die according to the fate you do not have.]
But Ryan had no fate.
And that made the game far more dangerous.
