WOORI knew how much Park Seoham treasured his three childhood friends.
So, she was aware that by snitching, she was actually talking badly behind Kwon Ana's back.
It was something that Park Seoham wouldn't let slide.
Plus, even if I'm telling the truth, I'm sure Park Seoham will believe Kwon Ana over me. In the end, I'll just look like a crazy bitch ruining their friendship.
And that was exactly what she wanted to happen.
"Look at the first message that Kwon Ana sent to me," Woori said while showing her chat messages to Park Seoham. "Kwon Ana said Seowon Village, and she even attached Seowon Village's map. But on her follow-up messages, she started saying Suwon Village. Of course, at this point, my mind was already conditioned that I needed to go to Seowon Village, especially since the map that she attached had that village pinned. I know it was my fault that I didn't pay close attention to her other messages. But can you really say that Kwon Ana just made a mistake?"
"Are you implying that Kwon Ana gave you the wrong direction on purpose?"
"I'm not implying it— that's exactly what I'm saying here: your precious childhood friend wanted me to get lost, and she succeeded."
Woori may have sounded cool and calm.
But, actually, her heart was thumping hard and fast against her chest.
After all, she wasn't used to badmouthing someone, especially behind their backs.
Technically, I'm just saying my side of the story. But since Kwon Ana isn't here to defend herself, what I'm doing is not really different from stabbing her in the back.
Woori felt awful, but she needed to do it.
Come on, Park Seoham. I'm talking ill of your friend. Get mad and fire me now.
Park Seoham let out an obviously frustrated sigh.
That made Woori flinch.
Oh, he's mad.
So, she braced herself for the actor's anger.
However…
"I'll tell Kwon Ana to apologize to you later."
Excuse me?
"Park Seoham-ssi, do you believe me?" Woori asked in disbelief. "Why would you make Kwon Ana apologize to me before hearing her side of the story first? I'm practically badmouthing your friend here. You should be mad at me and—"
"And what? Fire you?" Park Seoham scoffed. "Joo Woori, I can clearly see what you're trying to do here. You talked behind Kwon Ana's back on purpose because you wanted me to get mad at you and fire you on the spot."
Tsk.
Was my plan that obvious?
Woori avoided Park Seoham's gaze. "Still, I accused Kwon Ana of having me get lost on purpose. How can you keep such a person by your side? And you shouldn't believe me easily either."
"I didn't believe your words— I just know what Kwon Ana is capable of doing to protect me since she's my friend," Park Seoham said. "And I'm sure she just did this as a light prank. She didn't send you to a dangerous place. This village is only an hour's drive away from the real location."
"Ah. So, since I didn't die or something, you're downplaying what Kwon Ana did as a light prank?"
"Joo Woori, don't talk like that."
"It's alright. Of course, I knew you'd side with your precious childhood friend," Woori said, and then she looked at Park Seoham. "You don't have to make Kwon Ana apologize to me since I didn't die or get injured from her silly prank. Maybe she's just a girl, trying to get her petty revenge on me for her poor childhood friend."
Park Seoham clenched his jaw tight. "Stop it, Joo Woori."
"Fine."
"Change your clothes," Park Seoham said, getting up from his seat. "We're leaving."
Woori sighed, and then she nodded. "Let me say goodbye to Grandma Choi first."

"CHILD, take these."
Woori smiled and politely accepted the bag of sweet potatoes that Grandma Choi handed to her. "Thank you, Grandma."
She was the only one saying goodbye to Grandma Choi because Park Seoham was already waiting in the Jeep after putting her luggage in the car.
But the actor said goodbye to the grandma earlier.
"Take care, child. You can return here anytime you want," Grandma Choi said kindly, and then she put a piece of paper in Woori's hand. "Here's Mr. Nam's phone number. Call him if you're serious about buying his house."
"I will, Grandma."
"And I also put my number there," Grandma Choi added. "Call me anytime, dear."
Aww.
Woori smiled and hugged Grandma Choi. "I'll miss you, Grandma."

THERE was an awkward silence inside the Jeep.
But Woori couldn't care less.
She was busy putting Grandma Choi and Mr. Nam's phone numbers on her phone's contact list, after all.
Meanwhile, Park Seoham's eyes were glued to the road while driving.
If he's that upset with me, he should have just fired me.
Woori wanted to sigh, but a sneeze suddenly came out instead.
Fortunately, she was able to cover her nose and mouth with her elbow when she sneezed.
Oh, why is my body suddenly feeling heavy?
