She raised the spoon to her lips.

Soma slammed a bowl down on the table next to the sphere. CLACK.
"Yukihira Soma?" Erina raised an eyebrow. "You are serving... rice? In a bowl?"
"It is not just rice," Soma grinned, unwrapping his headband. "It is the 'Remember When We Were Kids' Don. Dig in."
Jean-Pierre scoffed. "Rice? Against my molecular sphere? You are a peasant!"
Erina looked at the sphere, then at the steaming bowl of rice topped with golden, crispy egg tempura and shimmering furikake. The smell wafting from Soma's bowl wasn't just food; it smelled like sunlight and laughter.
She hesitated. Then, she chose the rice.
She took a bite.
CRUNCH. FLUFF. MELT.
The 'Essence of Nostalgia' kicked in.
Suddenly, the dining room vanished for Erina. She wasn't the Director of Totsuki. She wasn't the God Tongue. She was a little girl, sitting in a warm kitchen, eating a snack her grandfather gave her secretly. She felt safe. She felt loved. She felt warm.
"Mmm..." Erina moaned involuntarily. A flush spread across her cheeks. The legendary 'stripping' reaction happened metaphorically—the heavy armor of her responsibility shattered, leaving her just a happy young woman.
"It is..." Erina whispered, eyes sparkling. "It is warm."
She ate another spoonful. Then another. She completely ignored Jean-Pierre's sphere.
"What?!" Jean-Pierre screamed. "Stop eating that peasant food! Try my sphere! It has optimized umami!"
Erina looked up, her eyes sharp again. "Optimized? Cooking isn't about numbers, Jean-Pierre. It is about who you want to feed. This dish..." She looked at Soma, blushing. "This dish makes me feel like I am home."
Jean-Pierre threw his sphere on the ground. "This is rigged! The God Tongue is broken!"
"The only thing broken," Soma said, leaning over the counter, "is your ego. Get out of my kitchen. You are disturbing the customers."
Jean-Pierre fled, crying about algorithms.
Soma looked at Erina. "So... was it good?"
Erina wiped her mouth with a napkin, regaining her composure. "It was... acceptable. Barely."
"Acceptable?" Soma laughed. "I saw you smiling!"
"I was not smiling!" Erina huffed, standing up. "But... since you won... I suppose I can allow you to cook for me again. Tonight. At my private residence."
Soma blinked. "Oh? Is that a date?"
"Call it... a private lesson," Erina said, turning away to hide her red face. "Don't be late, Yukihira-kun."
