Ethan arrived in a world that felt like static electricity and blindfolds.
Satoru Gojo was floating (literally) in the staff room, eating a kikufuku mochi.
(Gojo. Put the mochi down. Utahime is in the courtyard with the new Kyoto teacher, "Kenjiro the Kind".)
Gojo chewed loudly. "Kenjiro? The guy who brings flowers? He is boring."
(He is a Transmigrator. He is using a 'Soothing Aura' Cursed Technique. It lowers the target's aggression. Utahime is actually laughing at his jokes. Do you know how rare that is? She never laughs at you. She usually throws tea at you.)
"That is her way of flirting," Gojo insisted, pulling down his blindfold to reveal one blue eye.
(No, it is hate. But Kenjiro is convincing her to transfer to Kyoto permanently. To get away from your 'toxicity'. If she leaves, you lose your favorite person to annoy. And... your secret crush.)
Gojo stopped chewing. "She is leaving?"
(Yes. Unless you stop her. But you cannot just be a jerk. You have to show her you care. System Shop: Purchase Item "The Karaoke Mic of Absolute Sincerity". It forces the user to sing their true feelings.)
"Sing?" Gojo grinned. "I have the voice of an angel."
(You really don't. But that is why it will work. Go. Crash their tea party.)

Utahime was sitting on a bench, smiling as Kenjiro poured her tea.
"You deserve peace, Utahime-san," Kenjiro said softly. "Gojo is a child. Come to Kyoto. I will treat you like a goddess."
"It does sound nice," Utahime admitted. "Quiet. Peaceful."
"YO! UTAHIME!"
Satoru Gojo appeared out of thin air, standing on top of a vending machine. He held a golden microphone.
Utahime's vein popped. "Gojo! Can you not be annoying for five minutes?!"
"I heard you were leaving!" Gojo shouted. "So I wrote you a song!"
Kenjiro stood up. "Leave her alone, you monster! She hates you!"
"Hit it, System!" Gojo commanded.
Ethan played a backing track. Something slow. Ballad-like.
Gojo started singing. He was off-key. Horribly off-key.
"Utahimeeee! You are so weak! But that is okay!Because I am stroooong!But without you to yell at meeee...My days would be too loooong!"
The students watching from the windows covered their ears. Birds fell out of the sky.
Utahime stared at him. "Is... is he trying to kill me with sound waves?"
Kenjiro laughed. "Look at him! He is mocking you even now! He calls you weak!"
But Gojo continued, the "Mic of Absolute Sincerity" forcing the truth out.
"Everyone is afraid of meeee...Or they worship meeee...But you just look at me like I am an idiot...And that is why... I need you to staaaaay!"
Gojo finished with a high note that cracked the glass of the vending machine he was standing on.
Silence reigned.
Kenjiro sneered. "Pathetic. He makes it all about himself."
Utahime stood up. Her face was red. She walked over to the vending machine. She looked up at Gojo.
"You are an idiot," she said.
"I know," Gojo grinned, sliding his blindfold back up. "But I am your idiot."
Utahime sighed, a long, suffering sigh. She turned to Kenjiro. "I am sorry, Kenjiro-san. I can't go to Kyoto."
"Why?!" Kenjiro demanded. "He just insulted you in song!"
"He did," Utahime agreed. "But... if I leave, who is going to keep this man-child from accidentally destroying Japan?"
She looked at Gojo, hiding a small smile behind her sleeve. "Besides... his singing was so bad, I kind of feel sorry for him."
Gojo jumped down. "So, lunch? I am buying."
"You are paying," Utahime corrected. "And no singing."
"Deal!"
Gojo draped an arm around her (she swatted it away, but not too hard) and they walked off.
Kenjiro stood there, confused. "She chose the guy who broke her eardrums? Women are a mystery."
[Incident Report: World 28][Target: Gojo & Utahime.][Status: Toxic-But-Loving Dynamic Preserved.][Villain Status: Eardrums ruptured.][Reward: 1300 System Points.]
Ethan powered down his karaoke module.

Ethan Hunt felt the transition as a revving engine in his gut. The smell of coffee, gunpowder, and wet dog filled his sensors.
He opened his host's eyes. He was sitting in a small, run-down cafe. Across the table sat a girl with a choker and purple eyes. Reze.
[Initialization Complete.][Host: Denji.][Age: 20 (Public Safety Devil Hunter).][Current Status: Thinking about toast with jam.][Love Interest: Reze (The Bomb Girl).][Relationship Status: "She taught me how to swim. I think I love her?"]
(Denji? The Chainsaw Man? Oh boy. This kid's brain is 90 percent instinct and 10 percent Pochita. Denji! Listen to me!)
Denji blinked, scratching his chest. "Huh? Pochita? You talking again?"
(No, I am the System. And we have a Code Red. Reze is about to ask you to run away with her. But a man named "Hunter X" is sitting three tables away. He is a Transmigrator who knows she is the Bomb Devil.)
