Chapter 43 - Dealing with the Problems

Elion checked the time; it was more or less the same as he had calculated the hotel's security guards would arrive.

Parker was on the brink of death at that moment, and not even the best doctor in the world could save him.

In other words, he had personally cut off any clues that could involve Elion with the relationship they had.

Upon opening the door, Elion, as expected, was met with the irritated face of Albert's chief bodyguard.

He was under immense pressure due to Parker's escape. If Parker's body was not found tonight, he, along with all the bodyguards who were on duty when the attack occurred, would die!

When they heard that Parker was here, they could not wait for the hotel staff and rushed to this place without waiting to be guided.

When he saw Elion, who had opened the door, he impatiently extended his hand and shoved him aside: "Make way, make way!"

He then entered the inner room and, upon seeing the dying Parker, without caring about his condition, threw a punch at him.

"Shit!"

As a result, Parker, who was already on the brink of death, was sent straight into darkness by this punch.

The bodyguard stood stunned as he looked at Parker, who had died.

This assassin had been anything but fragile when facing all the bodyguards under his command.

He had even managed to break through the encirclement despite having been shot multiple times, so how could he have died like this now?

When the bodyguard turned around, ready to interrogate Elion, he saw Elion pointing at him with a terrified expression: "Did you kill someone? You killed someone! This is the Continental Hotel—killing is forbidden here!"

Upon hearing the shouts, a ruthless gleam flashed in the bodyguard's eyes, and he was about to draw his weapon and deal with the doctor as well.

However, at that moment, a voice was heard just in time.

"Mr. Ed, due to your actions committed in the Continental Hotel, your membership has been revoked."

The bodyguard's face instantly turned menacing: "Rules? You know who I am—"

Before the bodyguard could finish speaking, a bullet struck deeply into his chest.

Feeling pain, the bodyguard looked down in shock, only to see the wound that had pierced his suit.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Following that shot, many more were heard, and Ed, Albert's head of security, was killed.

"Take care of the cleanup." Winston, who was standing at the doorway, handed some coins to an old man who wore a broad smile.

"It will be an honor."

Having already seen Winston approach, Elion feigned surprise and let out a slight sound of astonishment.

He even pretended to be an ordinary person and bent over to vomit.

In reality, Elion used a blind spot to stick his finger deep into his throat and jab it, and that was how he managed to retch.

Winston smiled as he watched Elion vomit uncontrollably.

This young man has not experienced enough yet, but he will probably get used to it after some time.

Winston then approached the corpses to make sure they were dead.

Then he took out his phone and made a call.

"Albert, it's me, Winston. They've found the person, but he's dead. It was your men who did it."

"Yes, but he broke the rules, so I sent him to meet Parker in the next life. Haha, are you threatening me?"

"You wouldn't want me to tell people that you killed two people in my hotel, would you? I think the other members of the High Table would be very interested in this."

"What? A 1% stake? That's very little."

"5%? Deal." After settling things with Albert in just a few words, Winston turned around and patted Elion on the back: "Kid, you did a good job this time. But you must understand that the events of today are a secret, right?"

Elion, pale-faced, raised his head and asked, feigning confusion: "Will I be involved in this internal struggle? I'm just a healer."

"And you will be paid for it. For now, go with Charon so he can assign you another room and pay you a reward." After dismissing Elion, Winston once again examined Parker's body more closely.

Winston was a bit surprised when he saw the redness and swelling on Parker's neck. It looked as if Parker had received a heavy blow to the neck before dying.

Could the healer have caused it?

If that were the case, it would be a shame if he didn't receive an award at this year's Oscars.

If Elion's abilities are more than what he shows, then he is using his time in the wrong way.

Winston smiled faintly and thought that things were getting interesting. However, he did not share this discovery with more people.

Just as he said, he would let troubles not pursue his healer.

After being moved to a new room with Charon's help, Elion reviewed what had just happened.

Everything that had just occurred was basically under his control, except for the injury on Parker's neck.

However, this could also be interpreted as Parker having been injured during the attack on Albert.

In short, the outcome was more or less what Elion had expected.

Winston of the Continental Hotel is a thoroughly intriguing man; if power were placed before him, he would not hesitate to betray anyone to obtain it.

But he was also loyal—quietly loyal to those who work for him or are his friends—which distinguished him from Albert, so Elion would be fine as long as he did not stand out too much.
