Her name's Lily… isn't it? That's what I heard the tiger and serpent call her earlier, anyway.
The crushing, menacing weight radiating off those two apex predators didn't overwhelm my body, but the burning, mortifying embarrassment nearly swallowed me whole.
"Shut up, both of you!" Lily suddenly snapped, her cheeks blazing scarlet as she fixed a sharp, furious glare on the two towering predators at her sides.
Her sharp gaze snapped down to me next, one finger jabbing accusingly in my direction. "And you, erase everything you just saw from your head. Do you get me?"
She didn't pause long enough to wait for any reply.
Spinning sharply on her heel, she stormed toward the tribe's campgrounds without another word.
I scrambled clumsily upright, fumbling to smooth out my rumpled green tunic while my heart hammered hard against my ribs.
