Chapter 2 - THE DAY EVERYTHING CHANGED

Her suitcase was still under the bed.

Within minutes she was stuffing clothes inside it—shirts, jeans, the small notebook where she wrote lyrics when she couldn't sleep.

Her hands moved quickly, like if she stopped for even a second she would break apart.

"This place was never really mine anyway," she whispered to herself.

Outside, the night was dark and quiet when she stepped out of the house. The streetlights flickered softly, casting long shadows across the empty road.

Jay didn't look back.

Not at the house. Not at the memories. Not at the people who never told her the truth. She just kept walking. She didn't know where she was going yet.

But she knew one thing for sure.

One day, the world would know her name.

And when that day came…

No one from her past would recognize the girl she had become.

JAY'S POV

I didn't leave a note.

The night air was cold, but I barely felt it as I walked down the empty street. Streetlights flickered above me while my suitcase rolled behind me.

I didn't look back.

If I looked back, I might stop

And I couldn't stop.

Hours later I found myself standing inside the airport.

The bright lights hurt my eyes after the dark streets outside. People rushed past me with suitcases and boarding passes, laughing and talking like everything in the world was normal.

It felt strange.

Everyone here knew where they were going.

Except me.

I looked up at the big departure board.

So many cities.

So many places.

Then my eyes landed on one name.

Seoul, South Korea.

Far away.

Far enough that no one from my old life could find me.

Before I could change my mind, I walked to the counter and bought a ticket with the money I had saved.

One-way.

My hands trembled as I held the boarding pass.

This was real.

I was really leaving.

When they called for boarding, I joined the line of passengers and stepped onto the plane.

For a moment I just stood there at the entrance.

Behind me was everything I had ever known.

Ahead of me was something completely unknown.

I walked down the aisle and sat by the window.

When the plane started moving, my heart started racing.

And when it finally lifted into the air, I looked down at the city lights getting smaller and smaller beneath me.

I felt something strange in my chest.

Not sadness.

Not fear.

Something else.

A promise.

One day, the world would know my name.

And when that day came…

No one from my past would recognize the girl I had become. 🎤
