Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Secrets Unveiled.

The morning sunlight spilled into the hospital corridors, casting long, sharp shadows.

Mireya felt the tension immediately—it was heavier than usual, almost tangible.

Jae fell into step beside her, calm and steady.

"Morning," he said softly.

"Morning," she replied, scanning the hall with sharp eyes.

"I can feel it," she whispered.

"Yes," he agreed. "Today changes everything."

The first hours of the day passed with the usual routines.

Patients were treated, staff moved about efficiently, and the corridors buzzed with activity.

But subtle signs screamed to Mireya:

Misplaced files.

Equipment slightly off.

Staff glancing nervously at one another.

"Someone is orchestrating this," she muttered.

"Yes. But we are ready," Jae said quietly.

During mid-morning rounds, a serious incident occurred.

Patient charts were intentionally mixed, causing confusion in treatment schedules.

Staff whispered warnings under their breath, eyes flicking nervously toward Mireya and Jae.

Mireya stepped forward calmly, resolving the confusion while carefully observing every detail.

"You handle this so calmly," Jae whispered.

"It's the only way to see the truth," she replied, her heart pounding.

Lunch brought another layer of tension.

Hana joined them with urgent news.

"The instigator is watching more closely than ever," she said.

"They're influencing staff, decisions, and even patient care subtly but intentionally."

Mireya's stomach tightened.

"Then this is bigger than we thought," she said softly.

"Yes," Hana confirmed. "But you two have proven your strength. That's why they are testing you."

Jae squeezed Mireya's hand.

"Then we face it together," he whispered.

By afternoon, the external pressures peaked.

Lian attempted sabotage openly this time, moving files and creating deliberate errors.

Mireya noticed and remained calm.

Jae leaned close.

"Now we reveal the strategy," he said.

Mireya nodded, ready for the confrontation they had prepared for weeks.

The administration called a critical meeting.

Evidence of external manipulation, Lian's involvement, and subtle interference from higher-ups was presented.

The instigator's identity remained partially hidden, but patterns suggested a strategic plan to destabilize the hospital.

Mireya and Jae spoke clearly and confidently, demonstrating teamwork, patience, and leadership under pressure.

Lian's expression faltered, the first cracks appearing in her composed mask.

After work, Mireya and Jae walked through the city streets, rain lightly tapping the pavement.

"You make even tense days feel lighter," Mireya said softly.

"Even storms feel smaller when faced together," Jae replied, smiling.

She laughed, leaning into him.

"You really like that line," she teased.

"Only when it's true," he said.

That evening, they reviewed the day's events.

Evidence of external manipulation was now undeniable.

Someone high up had orchestrated chaos, testing their patience, teamwork, and bond.

Her phone buzzed with a message:

"The truth is closer than you think. Watch carefully."

Her pulse quickened.

Jae read it beside her.

"They're escalating, but we're prepared," he said, calm as ever.

Dinner was quiet, filled with laughter as they joked about minor hospital mishaps.

Humor softened the tension, allowing them a rare moment of peace.

"You always stay calm," Mireya said.

"And you always make me laugh," Jae replied.

She smiled, feeling warmth despite the pressure surrounding them.

Before bed, Mireya wrote in her notebook:

Even when secrets are revealed slowly, patience, trust, and unity are the strongest shields. Together, we are unstoppable.

Jae placed a hand on hers, whispering softly:

"Together."

"Together," she echoed.
