Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Healing Hearts.

The morning sun streamed through the hospital windows, casting a warm glow over the familiar corridors.

Mireya felt a calm she hadn't experienced in weeks.

Jae appeared at her side, his presence steady and comforting.

"Morning," he said softly.

"Morning," she replied, smiling at him.

"Feels… peaceful," she whispered.

"Yes," he agreed. "The storm has passed, for now."

The first hours were quiet, allowing the staff to recover from recent tensions.

Mireya noticed smiles returning to their faces, laughter lightly filling the halls.

She walked beside Jae, observing the hospital with renewed appreciation.

"Even the smallest moments feel lighter now," she said.

"Yes," Jae replied. "Because we've weathered the storm together."

During mid-morning rounds, a minor incident caused a ripple of laughter among the staff.

A nurse accidentally dropped a tray of medical instruments, and Mireya quipped:

"Guess even the trays wanted attention today!"

Everyone laughed, including Jae, who leaned close to whisper:

"You always know how to lighten the mood."

Lunch was a relaxed affair.

Hana joined them, smiling warmly.

"You two handled everything brilliantly," she said.

Mireya smiled. "It wasn't just me. Jae was there every step of the way."

He grinned. "We make a good team."

Mireya laughed softly. "The best team, apparently."

By afternoon, the hospital felt like a place of healing in more ways than one.

Patient care continued smoothly.

Staff were more confident.

Even Lian, though still present, had begun to reflect on her actions.

Mireya and Jae walked together quietly, sharing small jokes about the chaos they had endured.

"You know," Mireya said, "even in chaos, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else by my side."

"Me neither," Jae replied, squeezing her hand.

After work, they decided to take a brief walk outside.

The city streets glistened with the evening sun.

Mireya leaned on Jae's shoulder.

"You make everything feel lighter," she murmured.

"Even storms feel smaller when faced together," he said with a soft smile.

She laughed lightly. "You really do love that line, don't you?"

"Only when it's true," he replied.

That night, they shared a quiet dinner at home, laughter and playful teasing filling the room.

The tension of recent weeks had melted, leaving warmth and comfort in its place.

"You stayed calm throughout everything," Mireya said.

"And you made me laugh," Jae replied.

She smiled softly, feeling her heart lighter than it had been in weeks.

Before bed, Mireya wrote in her notebook:

Challenges test hearts and bonds, but love, patience, and trust heal even the deepest wounds. Together, we are stronger than any storm.

Jae placed his hand over hers, whispering:

"Together."

"Together," she echoed.
