Chapter 3 - Beyond the Portal

Suddenly, Akira found herself in a strange world unlike the Earth she knew.

The ground beneath her feet was solid, yet it resembled water—shimmering and reflecting everything around her like a sparkling glass mirror.

In the distance, she noticed a glowing white light shining from a far-off gate.

She approached slowly, each step echoing through the silence and stillness of this mysterious place.

As she drew closer, she saw a breathtakingly beautiful girl with long, flowing silver hair like a waterfall, and red eyes gleaming like precious gems. She wore a long crimson dress that fluttered softly around her.

Akira's heart raced—fear and awe mixed together in her chest.

She approached cautiously and reached her hand toward the gate…

but suddenly, her hand was yanked violently to the side.

Her breathing grew erratic. She struggled to calm herself, forcing her mind to focus and steady her racing heartbeat.

And then… she realized that the silver-haired girl had left her alone in this strange world she did not recognize.

Akira turned and saw a mirror before her.

When she looked at her reflection… she froze.

The girl in the mirror was no longer Akira.

She had silver hair.

Red, glowing eyes.

Her entire body had changed.

She had no time to absorb the shock; she suddenly began to fall.

Her eyes snapped open—finding herself plunging into a strange ocean.

But then… something unusual began approaching her from afar.

Akira shut her eyes tightly for a moment.

When she opened them again, she found herself lying on solid ground this time, drenched and trembling, with a strange girl standing in front of her.

The girl had light brown hair, yellow eyes, and pale, soaked skin. She was screaming in panic:

"My Lady! Please… don't close your eyes! We will save you!"

The girl turned and shouted:

"Guards!!"

Akira's vision blurred.

Her eyes closed once more…

And when she opened them, she found herself inside a grand room, beside the bed of a small child—one who resembled the silver-haired girl from before.

A woman entered the room, seemingly the palace maid, gentle and caring toward the child.

Akira observed her closely…

There was something familiar about her—something that made her heart tremble.

It was the same woman who had saved her.

Suddenly, the scene shifted again.

Akira was now in a magical garden filled with strange flowers and ancient trees.

There, she saw the same child, but a little older, walking confidently while the maid sat beside her, playing with her tenderly.

Akira felt fear and confusion surge through her again.

But the visions did not stop.

The scene changed once more—

Akira saw masked men kidnapping the child and taking her into the forest. They began a dark ritual led by a sinister man.

Akira tried to intervene, but her hands passed right through them… as if she was nothing but a wandering spirit.

Then everything shifted again.

She was back in the child's room, seeing her burning with fever and suffering from severe memory loss, while all the healers stood helpless.

Her body rejected magical healing.

Every healer lost hope.

They all believed she would not survive the night.

But strangely… after several days, the girl recovered completely.

No one understood how.

Everyone celebrated—

Not knowing that this moment marked the turning point in her life.

Years passed.

The child grew up into Valeria—

arrogant, temperamental, easily provoked, pushing away everyone around her.

Yet always accompanied by her loyal caretaker, Emilia.

Valeria grew up within the royal court and was betrothed to Marcellus, the prince of Eldoran—

a man who did not love her at all.

But Valeria loved him obsessively, chasing him everywhere.

The scene changed again, and Akira found herself in a grand hall filled with nobles.

Suddenly, the Eldoran prince publicly announced he was breaking off the engagement and choosing Dolores, the daughter of a ducal house, instead.

Valeria exploded in rage and tried to attack Dolores—

But before she could reach her, Marcellus slapped her in front of everyone.

Tears filled her eyes.

Hatred and humiliation poisoned her heart.

Her life collapsed in an instant.

The vision shifted again.

Akira now stood in a public execution square.

The entire crowd was gathered to witness Valeria's execution, fully convinced by Eldoran's manipulations.

Even Valeria's imperial family could not stop it—

It was the people's demand.

Only Emilia remained by her side, desperate to protect her from this injustice.

Suddenly—

Akira opened her eyes in reality.

She found herself in an unfamiliar room, lying on a soft bed.

She turned her head to see Emilia sleeping beside her, dark circles under her eyes, showing she hadn't rested for months.

Emilia woke up suddenly and cried:

"My Lady… Valeria! You're finally awake!"

Akira felt dizzy.

"Valeria…?

Where am I?

What happened?"

The physician explained her condition:

Complete memory loss.

A body extremely weak due to the absence of mana.

Akira requested a mirror.

And when she looked…

She froze.

Valeria's face stared back at her.

Everything she had witnessed in her visions… was real.

Akira—now Valeria—felt overwhelmed with shock, anger, and confusion.

But then she remembered the stories her grandmother used to tell her about reincarnation and other worlds.

She had dismissed them as fairy tales.

But now… she understood.

Her grandmother had once said:

"In your next life, you will discover a power you never imagined, in a world where nothing is impossible."

Trying to accept this new reality, Akira insisted on going to the garden.

Emilia protested out of fear for Valeria's health, but finally helped her stand and walk.

And as soon as Akira/Valeria stepped into the garden…

She recognized it.

It was the same garden from her visions.

She sat quietly at a table, drowning in a thousand questions.

Every passing moment was a journey between memory, dream, and truth—

A journey preparing her for a destiny that would reshape her entire world.
