Chapter 4 - Resurrection Lily

George was listening carefully…

"The first item we offer is the Pagoda of Fragmented Memories You can also call it Soul orb. This item is so special . Inside these soul orbs, fragmented memories of many experts are trapped. You can directly absorb them and obtain those memories. If you are lucky enough, you might even obtain Heaven-rank skills. If you are unlucky, you will get nothing, as many of the soul orbs are actually just filled with fragmented memories of normal mortals or dumb animals.

However, many times it can be extremely dangerous. It can have hidden dangers—for example, if the user's soul is not strong enough and the fragmented memory belongs to a very high-level expert, it will severely damage the user's soul. At minimum, the damage would take at least half a year to heal, and at maximum, it would result in instant death. What can we do? To gain something, you must sacrifice something."

"From your description, it seems this item is really dangerous. So why are people so eager to buy it?"

"Huh… Young Master, you are still young, so you don't understand human behavior. Humans are actually so greedy by nature. They want to try their luck, even if this cost their own lives, to just change their fate."

"Ok, ok, whatever. And what about the other items?"

"The second item we offer is Ancient Orbs. These are orbs that were generated throughout history around many different materials. After breaking them, you can obtain many valuable ores and runes, but many of them are also empty. It is also a gamble, but it is the most famous item in our store because it does not carry any life-threatening danger.

The third item we offer is Myrid Seed Life Pods. These are compressed seeds retrieved from the Beast Continent and can only be found in shops under the Ven der Meer family. It is a special type of seed that, when you pour your energy into it, will instantly grow into a plant or a massive tree. It could become any valuable medicine or anything else—benefits are guaranteed because reaching the state of a compressed seed is extremely difficult, and only special plants can achieve it.

However, at the same time, it is the most dangerous of the three. If your luck is bad, death is guaranteed. If not death, then at minimum your cultivation will be crippled. It may grow into a void parasite that drains your energy and cripples you, or it may grow into a Breath Snatcher Lily, which is even more dangerous, as it drains your energy and bursts your body throughout the process. There are countless dangerous plants like these throughout the Beast Continent.

Even if you are not crippled, you will still lose a portion of your cultivation, as the energy poured into the seed is permanently gone and at the end you may gain anything?."

After hearing the details, George was quite shocked by how dangerous these items were, yet people were still buying them. Amidst the conversation, they had already reached the area where the Myrid Seed Pods were stored. While George was still in a daze, suddenly a voice came:

"George, get the seed at the shelf's far right corner."

After hearing the voice, he came back to his senses. "Huh? What?"

"I said, get the seed at the third shelf's far right corner."

"Oh, ok."

He noticed that the shopkeeper was still blabbering about this or that, which was of no use to George.

George instructed the shopkeeper exactly as Bao said, and the shopkeeper brought the seed to him. After getting the seed, George asked, "What's the price?"

"No,no. There's no need for money. Think of it as a gift for your first visit."

George took it, as there was no reason not to accept a free gift. He immediately said goodbye to the shopkeeper and left the shop without looking at the other items. But if he had just turned around one last time, he would have seen the shopkeeper crying. The shopkeeper was crying because the seed George picked was one of the most expensive ones, and now he would have to pay for it out of his own pocket.

After leaving, George asked Bao in his mind, "Why did you tell me to get this seed?"

Bao replied, "I can feel a slight aura of a Resurrection Lily, so I am sure it is the Resurrection Lily, which can heal the human body and soul And aid them wirh their cultivation also can help them to looseb ajy of their bottlenecks it also have many other use that is not important for you ."

"Wow, it has such a miraculous effects."

"Yes. If it didn't have any good use, why would I have told you to get it?"

"So what are we going to do with it? Sell it?

"But I think I should least care about money, as you know about my family."

"You idiot, we are not going to sell it."

"Then what will we do? It has no use to me."

"You are wrong. It is the most useful item for you in this world right now."

"So You are going to use it on yourself."

"What? But why? I have no problem with myself."

"Don't you want to cultivate?"

"Isn't it obvious,I am now in this exciting world of cultivation. So why shouldn't I want to cultivate? Also, I don't want to cultivate just for the sake of it—I want to reach the pinnacle of this world through cultivation."

"But I'm sorry, you can't cultivate. Let alone cultivation, you may not even survive for more than five years."

"I will obviously reach the pinnacle—"

While saying this, he realized what Bao had said, and his jaw almost dropped to the floor in shock.

"What did you say? did I hear it wrong? Can you say it again?"

"No, you heard it right. I said you will not live for more than five years."

"Oh no… Momma, your son died once, and now he's going to die again…"

"Hey, don't interrupt me. Let me tell you the reason why you can't cultivate, and why you will die in five years."

"The reason you can't cultivate is that your spirit is severely injured. A spirit can be considered as important as one's soul. Though it will not show any physical signs currently, But if this matter is not handled properly, you will die so painfully that you may beg for an early death. You should have also noticed some unusual changes in your personality, right?"

"Yes… how did you know? I realized that I suddenly act unlike my usual self, but I thought it was because I am now in this world and in another body."

"No, you're wrong. The reason for the change in your personality is because your spirit is damaged. So you must be healed soon."

"If you know this much, I think you also know the way to heal me."

"Of course. As I mentioned, the Resurrection Lily has many miraculous uses, and many of them are unknown to this world. One of these hidden uses is that it can heal a human's spirit. You are lucky that I was with you; otherwise, you would have died quite pitifully."

"So why are we waiting? We should hurry and heal my spirit. It will benefit both of us."

"But… I'm sorry to say there is a problem with this Resurrection Lily mystic seed pod in your hand ."

"The energy emitting from this seed pod is little unsettling that I am quite sure it is an infant Resurrection Lily. To fully heal your spirit, we need a fully matured Resurrection Lily, which is even rarer. But you don't need to worry—I have my own ways to help it grow into a mature plant, though it may take at least three years."

"Aiii…" George sighed, saying, "So we have to wait three years… I'm actually too impatient. I don't want to wait for three years just to step into this exciting world of cultivation.I just don't want to sit idly for three years without doing anything."

"Yes , it is not ideal for you to just sit idle for three years, as three years is a long time. And in just three years, you could grow tremendously, under my guidance. Also, the ways I know to grow this infant Resurrection Lily can't be done in this small city—we have to go outside."

Also… we can't be impatient. We have to take a step at a time. Whatever it is, you should first return to your home.

After some time, George returned to his new home. When he reached his room, he was shocked to see his mother and a very old and fragile man waiting inside, chatting about this and that. His mother was very polite to the old man.

When George entered, his mother said lovingly, "You are back, my son. I hope your day was nice. Greet, your Uncle Yang Li, also known as the Divine Physician."

George slightly bowed and said, "Nephew greets Uncle."

Uncle Li replied, "You don't need to be so polite,"

though pride could clearly be seen on his face.

In his mind, George was thinking how they had gotten the Divine Physician so fast. Didn't they say it would take two to three days for him to arrive? And what if the physician found out his secret? As a result, George was quite unpleasant after meeting the Divine Physician, though he didn't show it on his face.

His mother instructed him to lie on the bed, as the physician would examine him. He was a little hesitant in his mind, but obediently lay on the bed

The divine physician checked George's body thoroughly and was shocked to find that his body had no damage.

Then the divine physician glanced at George's mother and asked, "You said he has lost his memory?"

"It seems it is true that he has lost his memory, but the reason—even I could not find out."

"However, I think it is not something life-threatening. We should leave these things to nature's course."

George's mother was sad and happy at the same time. He had lost his memory, it was true, but it was also not something life-threatening.

After the checkup, George's mother and the physician left him alone.

George, who had heard their conversation, thought, "So these people think I have lost my memory… it's a good thing. I don't know anything about the owner of this body or this place, so I was worried someone might inquire and get suspicious, but now I don't need to worry about getting caught… unless someone with really, really high cultivation peeks through my soul

George laying on his bed and started to talk with Bao, saying, "But now, what should we do with this Resurrection Lily seed? I don't have any spiritual energy, so how am I going to grow it?"
