Chapter 5 - The last night before the disaster

Before long, Shiryu finally arrived at Saeko's house.

Unlike other houses in the area, her house had a spacious traditional Japanese architectural style.

There was also a dojo on the other side of the yard. However, that was natural.

[Saeko came from a samurai lineage that strongly upheld the Bushido code of ethics. Her family is known to have a long history of protecting the throne.]

[She is the daughter of Master Busujima, a world-renowned martial artist who owns a traditional martial arts dojo. Saeko learned sword techniques directly from her father.]

[In the original work, I remember that when the zombie outbreak started, her father was abroad for a self-defense conference.]

[But now...]

While walking towards the door of the house, Shiryu wrote in his diary. He then glanced at the girl beside him and asked, "Saeko-senpai, is your father home at the moment?"

"No, this morning he just went abroad to attend a conference as you said, Shiryu-kun."

Saeko was no longer surprised by Shiryu's ability to predict the future.

Still, she was not used to his shamelessness when he wrote!

[Saeko said her father wasn't home because this morning, he went abroad like in the original work.]

[Gosh! Doesn't that mean that right now... when the sun has set, there's only me and her at home?]

[What can happen between a man and a woman who are not related by blood in that situation!?]

What's going on?

Can you not write things like that in your diary?

Saeko sighed, she opened the door of her house and said, "Welcome to my house, would you like a drink? You can also take a bath and I'll make dinner for the two of us."

"Sure, I won't refuse your hospitality, Senpai."

Shiryu closed his diary and smiled quite widely.

How could he not?

He felt like they were a married couple who had just come home.

A short while later.

Shiryu finished bathing and sat at the dining table, having no other clothes, Saeko gave him her father's clothes.

Compared to Rika's clothes, Master Busujima's clothes had a more suitable size for him.

Saeko couldn't help but glance at Shiryu several times because after receiving the reward from his diary, he had a figure that was not inferior or even surpassed her father.

With his slightly wet hair and handsome face, many women out there would want to get into his pants.

She herself...

When dirty things started to fill her mind, Saeko shook her head and smiled wryly in her heart.

"Please enjoy. Just miso soup, rice, and grilled fish. I hope it suits your taste, Shiryu-kun."

Shiryu picked up the chopsticks and inhaled the aroma of the cooking. "This should be delicious. Thank you, Saeko-senpai. I almost forgot the last time I had a home-cooked meal like this."

"How about the bento I made this noon?"

"I meant eating home-cooked food in the dining room like this."

"Ah, sorry."

Saeko apologized because she thought she had touched on a sensitive topic.

After all, Shiryu had lost his parents a long time ago.

She felt guilty.

However, Shiryu began to eat and chew vigorously. "You don't have to apologize for such a small thing... By the way, this is really delicious! I wonder if I can apply to be your future husband, Senpai?"

"Shiryu-kun, you... Don't talk while eating or you'll choke."

Saeko felt a little embarrassed, the boy in front of her kept throwing straight balls at her since the first time they met.

Did he mean what he said or was he just joking?

She didn't know what to answer, so she changed the subject.

Shiryu knew that even though Saeko had made a very good impression on him in less than a day, she seemed to be hesitant to raise the level of their relationship because she had a problem that was bothering her.

As someone who had watched the original work, he certainly knew what problems Saeko had.

Or rather, her dark past and the other side of her that she was hiding.

Even so, he was in no hurry to ask about it and waited for her to tell him first.

After they finished dinner, it was Saeko's turn to take a shower.

While waiting, she offered him to watch TV and eat the snacks on the table if he wanted.

Shiryu certainly didn't refuse, but his mind couldn't help but drift to Saeko in the shower.

[Is my host a pervert?]

"System, I'm a 15-year-old boy and putting aside my slightly older mental age— I'm perfectly healthy and have a normal sexual orientation. I'm sure the boys at my school would be thinking the same thing as me if they were in my position."

[So you admit that you are a pervert?]

His lips twitched and he replied, "I just wanted to say it's normal for me to be a pervert."

I don't know if it was a hallucination, but his system sounded more emotional. She was also babbling more.

Most people would probably think that's bad. But Shiryu didn't think it was good and bad before asking, "Instead of that, how many words do I need to get the next reward?"

[It's still 5000 and currently, you've written 846 words.]

Even the average word count in a novel chapter is usually not that much. Shiryu asked the System to reduce the number of words he had to reach, he was just testing if it could be done?

The answer was no.

Time passed.

Saeko had finished bathing and soon, they began packing the necessary items for the housewarming.

With physical strength at Captain America's level, it was no problem for Shiryu to carry a lot of luggage simultaneously.

However, Saeko only brought one suitcase containing her clothes. That made him unable to show off.

"What's wrong, Shiryu-kun? Why do you look disappointed?" Saeko asked in confusion.

"Are those the only things you want to bring to my house, Senpai?" Shiryu glanced at her suitcase before at her figure which looked even sexier in a white crop top T-shirt that exposed her belly button. For her bottom, she wore tight black hotpants and brown boots.

Saeko noticed Shiryu's slightly heated gaze, but she didn't mind and ignored it. She touched the hilt of the katana strapped to her waist, "I also brought my father's sword with me and a cell phone. More than that, your house already has it, right?"

What she meant was obviously the groceries and other supplies she ordered earlier.

"That's right, let's go. I've already booked a taxi."

In fact, electronic items such as cell phones will also be useless when the zombie apocalypse occurs.

At that time, it is likely that the electricity and internet network in the entire city will be down. However, it was an exception in his home.

At least in the early stages, Shiryu thought.

While the two people were thoroughly preparing for the impending disaster in less than 20 hours.

The other heroines holding copies of Shiryu's diary were having trouble sleeping.

They were nervous and wondered if it was too late to join Shiryu's team?

In her bedroom.

Yui rolled over in bed, she flipped through the pages in the copy of Shiryu's diary.

"Those guys weren't kidding?"

She was still stuck in doubt that tomorrow the zombies would probably be running around the streets.

But suddenly, she remembered the notes Shiryu had given her in class. She picked it up from the table and read it again.

In that note, Shiryu had actually written down his home address.

Just that and Yui knew he was basically saying whatever you believe or not, you can come to my house anytime.

"Isn't this an invitation to join his group? Hmph! Should I do it?"

"But it's getting late... There's also my parents who won't allow me to stay at a boy's house."

"Not only that, I also can't tell them about the things Shiryu-kun wrote."

Yui bit her finger with frustration on her face.

After coming home from school earlier, she tried to tell her parents about what might happen tomorrow and asked them to move to a safer place.

But there seemed to be a rule in the 'Shiryu Diary' that did not allow her to give out information about it to others.

"Ahh! This is so annoying!"

"Can I only save myself and not my parents?"

Not just Yui, many other heroines were worried about the same thing.

But unbeknownst to Shiryu, every copy of his diary suddenly displayed an information.

[Notification from the Diary System: Every holder of a copy of my host diary will not have to worry about their parents or relatives when the zombie apocalypse begins.]

[They get protection from the system for one year. They won't die or be seriously injured, but all of you are exceptions.]

[You can all die like everyone else and should try to survive or help my host to end the zombie apocalypse as soon as possible.]

"!?!?" The heroines including Saeko were dumbfounded.

The diary seemed to be communicating with them!?

And Shiryu... does he know?

Saeko glanced at the boy beside her, he was not holding the diary and was talking to Shizuka.

By the way, they had arrived at his house and even met Shizuka who was referring because they made her wait for a long time.

"Shizuka-sensei, sorry for making you wait."

"Mou... I'll forgive you for this time, Sou-kun."

Shizuka folded her hands under her large breasts and turned her face to his house.

She stopped puffing out her cheeks and pointed at the building she was looking at. "Still, is this really your house?"

"Yes, this looks like my house."

"Why do you sound so unsure?"

"Well, I hired a lot of professionals to renovate my house within a few hours. I didn't expect them to make my house look like it does now."

Shiryu scratched his head with a confused expression.

Looks like he doesn't know, Saeko thought.

Even so, she herself couldn't help but glance at Shiryu's house with surprise when she first saw it.

I mean instead of a house, it looks like a fortress. Originally, Shiryu's house was more like a villa that was so luxurious it cost 999 million yen.

It was one of the most expensive villas in Tokyo.

But after the renovation, the defenses have been improved. For example, the fence surrounding the villa is now made of high iron and has electric wires on it.

The gates of the villa are also made of iron so thick that they can't be easily destroyed by a group of zombies.

As for the inside?

Shiryu, Saeko and Shizuka had to check it out first.

Soon, they all went inside.

...

I don't know what time it was.

When Saeko and Shiuzka were sleeping in their respective rooms.

Shiryu was also sleeping in his bedroom. However, his passive ability activated for the second time.

That meant he was again seeing the future from within his dreams.

This time, the location was in front of the school gate and based on the brightness of the sky, he guessed that the second period was probably starting.

While the students were studying, the gatekeeper frowned when he saw an office man with a red spot on his shirt walking slowly towards the school.

Not only that, his skin was very pale and his eyes were bloodshot.

"Hey sir, what's wrong with you? Your clothes are full of blood!"

Still, the gatekeeper did not suspect that the person in front of him was dangerous.

He thought he was a victim of an accident or something.

"Grrr..."

The office man did not reply. He continued to drag his feet, making low, inhuman growling sounds while banging his body against the locked iron gate.

The gatekeeper was startled and began to get annoyed, he approached and was about to reprimand him but— "Ugh! You smell so bad...and your face seems to be badly injured, sir." Half of the office man's cheek was missing as if he had been bitten.

"Who the hell are you?! Are you one of the parents who got rear-ended on the way here?!"

He asked in a loud voice.

The office man became more aggressive and kept banging his head against the iron gate.

"Damn it, answer me! Wait, are you a crazy person? You leave me no choice, I'll call the officers from the mental hospital to arrest you."

The gatekeeper took out his cell phone from his pants pocket and was about to make a call.

But from such a close distance, those who had been infected with the 'Rage' virus were able to do something like...

"Ahhh! Bastard, what are you doing!? I'm going to beat you up!"

The office man spurted blood from his mouth.

The gatekeeper's face was covered in red liquid because of that. In a fit of rage, he opened the gate to beat up the madman in front of him.

But a few seconds later, his eyes started turning red and he felt something was wrong with his body.

He couldn't help kneeling down and clutching his chest with an expression of pain.

"I... What happened to me?"

10.

Shiryu counted since the gatekeeper's face was covered in the blood of the infected. He even clearly saw the liquid dripping into his eyes as well and it was over.

He was instantly infected with the Rage virus.

"Grrraaah!!"

An inhuman roar came out of his mouth

Just like that office man, he had turned into a zombie.

It was the beginning of the zombies that started entering the school.

The scene was almost similar to the scene in Highschool Of The Dead. And the protagonists, for example a spiky black-haired boy reacted faster than most people.

He realized something was wrong with the two people near the school gate that he saw from the window.

Without hesitation, he started to leave his class even though the teacher was teaching and picked up his childhood friend who was in another class.

"Rei, come with me now! We have to leave from—" Protagonist Takashi Komuro did not finish his words.

He paused because the girl or heroine he was looking for was nowhere to be seen in the classroom.

"Komuro-kun, are you looking for Rei? She just came out about two minutes ago." One of the students in the class said.

Takashi's face paled. "Damn... where did she go?! This is bad, there's something wrong at the school gate! Something... doesn't make sense!"

"She said she was going to the roof or the gymnasium, I'm not sure. But she was with Hisashi."

Hearing this, Takashi was stunned for a moment. The name 'Hisashi' made his panicked look turn sour and hateful.

The students in the class and Shiryu could even see his face gradually turn green.

As far as he remembered, Hisashi was Rei's current boyfriend. However, soon, he would die and the protagonist Takashi seized the opportunity to get back together with his childhood friend whom he had a crush on, Rei Miyamoto.

Shiryu knows that and wonders what he should do about them?

Not only the opening plot in Highschool Of The Dead, he also thought about some plots that would happen to the protagonist and other heroines in his school.

The next day.

He didn't mention about the future vision he had gotten last night.

But...

[Even though my group and I already had a safe place, I still planned to go to school this morning. I can't ignore the chance to gossip about the heroines and get another reward.]

The heroines fell silent.

Shiryu, you're so relaxed.

Instead of going to school to help us, you seem to just want to take advantage of us.

How rude.

"Sou-kun, you're a bit... mean." Shizuka said while eating Saeko's sandwich with a carefree expression on her face.

At that time, they were having breakfast together.

Nothing lewd happened last night, Shiryu was a little disappointed.

"Ahem! Of course if I can, I'll help some people who I think are worthy of joining our group."

He pretended to cough and told the two women at the dinner table that it was not impossible for them to recruit others to their group.

But not just anybody, he was not so bad but not so good either.

[Don't confuse me with the protagonist of Highschool Of The Dead, Takashi Komuro. In the original work, he often made his group of heroines including Saeko and Shizuka go through a lot of trouble because of his hero complex.]

[He is very egotistical and naive at the same time. Otherwise, he wouldn't have insisted on keeping a bad guy like Koichi Shido in his group and made his childhood friend disgusted.]

Except for a few heroines including Rei, none of them knew Takashi.

But those who attended Tokyo Metropolitan Academy knew about Koichi Shido, he was one of those teachers who looked good on the surface.

But only those who have been his targets know how evil he is. One of them is Rei, who had to repeat a year at school because she didn't agree to Kochi's perverted request to sleep with him.

Her childhood friend Takashi wants to keep someone like that in his group?

Then, I would never want to join his group!

"That's good! Sou-kun, can I bring some people into our group? Don't worry, they are all good people."

Shizuka looked at him with a pleading gaze while standing up and leaning her face forward.

It made the large breasts under her white shirt jiggle.

Shiryu couldn't help glancing at that beautiful sight for three seconds before replying.

"Sure, you can do it, Shizuka-sensei."

"Yey~!"

Saeko looked at Shiryu flatly, she decided not to comment on his lascivious gaze on Shizuka's breasts.

But she said, "I'm not against the decision of you two, but it's good for us to only recruit females. If there are other males besides Shiryu in our group, I think it will be a little uncomfortable."

As expected of my first future wife, Saeko!

You said what I couldn't say directly.

Shiryu gave a thumbs up, "We'll do as you say, Senpai!"

"Eh... Okay." Shizuka agreed easily. In fact, there were no men on the list of people she wanted to recruit.

...

A/N: The plot is slow just like my previous book. So, please be patient before the action in the next few chapters. The same goes for the EMP explosion in Highschool of the Dead, and why the electricity is still on in Shiryu's house. I purposely didn't explain it from the beginning.
