Chapter 15 - Chapter 16 Creating the Thick Fog!

Finding one person in the vast city of Tokyo was an impossible task—even knowing the name of the eighth interference source. Still, Daniel had to locate her before the chosen warriors arrived, or the situation could spiral beyond his control.

The dark dragon carriage rumbled swiftly over the smooth roads, while DemiDevimon perched on top, scanning for a temporary base.

The dragon exhaled hot breaths, its massive, imposing form crushing any roadblocks or parked cars in its path without hesitation.

The carriage jolted to a stop. DemiDevimon's excited voice came from outside: "Myotismon-sama, we've arrived! I've found the perfect spot for a temporary base—you're going to love it!"

Daniel stepped out. Before him was a wide underground parking garage—spacious but filled with vehicles and thick, stale air. It might have suited the original Myotismon, but Daniel—still human at his core—had no intention of living in a parking lot.

His resistance to light had improved significantly. Direct sunlight was still uncomfortable, but as long as he stayed indoors, he could avoid the old habit of hiding in pitch-black basements.

"Idiot—are you seriously suggesting the great Myotismon-sama stay in this filthy place?"

Daniel glared at DemiDevimon.

"But... but Myotismon-sama, the environment here is similar to the castle's! I searched everywhere—places without sunlight are rare. The new base is still under construction and won't be ready immediately. Please endure for a while."

DemiDevimon dropped to its knees, frantically explaining.

Daniel knew DemiDevimon's loyalty was genuine, even if it always managed to bungle his orders. He sighed in resignation.

"If Master isn't satisfied, we'll find another place. Leave it to me, Gatomon. What kind of location do you prefer?"

Gatomon asked.

"Do I even need to say it? The great Myotismon-sama demands the best."

Daniel narrowed his eyes toward a luxurious villa across the exit. "Something like that."

Gatomon and DemiDevimon exchanged glances. Their master's taste had changed drastically—from loving darkness to wanting a bright, open house?

After some time, Gatomon found exactly what Daniel wanted. The villa was far from the bustling city, in a quiet suburban area. Compared to anything he'd seen earlier, it was far more opulent. Strangely, a thin layer of mist shrouded the property even at night, making it look mysterious and perfectly suited for a vampire lord.

Inside, the villa was covered in natural elegance—pink flowers bloomed vibrantly in the garden beds. The grand, beautiful residence was completely empty. Daniel felt no guilt about claiming it—his followers had likely cleared out any occupants.

With a temporary base secured, Daniel ordered Gatomon and DemiDevimon to send their forces searching for the girl named Hikari—the eighth source. Meanwhile, he took DemiDevimon to alter the city's environment.

He couldn't allow the glaring sunlight to reach this place. He needed a battlefield favorable to him—thick fog blanketing the entire city, just like in the original story.

Standing atop the city's highest point, Daniel unleashed his psychic power. The night fog thickened dramatically. While the people of Tokyo slept, unaware of the coming crisis, the mist began to spread.

With a gentle wave of his hand, the fog danced in the night sky. Centered on Daniel, it expanded outward, covering the city.

This fog not only blocked sunlight and visibility—it disrupted all communications, radio waves, and signals. In an instant, phones, televisions, and internet across the city went dead.

The dense mist isolated Tokyo completely. Even if every resident were eliminated, the outside world would remain oblivious.

Ordinary humans were utterly powerless against such a disaster.

After completing the task, Daniel staggered. His head throbbed as if it might explode, his body weak and drained. He knew this was the backlash from exhausting his mental energy.

Manipulating the environment of an entire city required immense power. The original Myotismon had replenished himself by feeding on human blood. But Daniel found non-virgin blood revolting—he couldn't bring himself to drink it.

If vampires truly existed in this world, they'd starve. The pace of "manufactured" women here outstripped any natural birth rate.

"Myotismon-sama, are you alright?"

DemiDevimon asked worriedly.

"I'm fine—just need rest. During this time, find that girl named Hikari as quickly as possible. Don't disturb me unless it's urgent!"

Daniel endured the dizziness and ordered the dragon carriage back to the villa.

Exhausting his mental energy would take at least a day or two to recover fully. Of course, if he absorbed energy from others, recovery would be faster...

The countless Digimon Daniel had brought to Tokyo rampaged through the fog, destroying everything in sight. Panic and chaos gripped the city—countless casualties. Communications were down, transportation halted—trains, planes, ships—all grounded by the mist.

Gatomon and DemiDevimon, naturally incompatible, refused to cooperate. Both wanted to be the first to complete Daniel's task and earn his favor.

By some twist of fate, after hours of fruitless searching, Gatomon encountered a young woman in a park. She looked to be in her early twenties—mature, poised, and strangely familiar with Digimon.

The woman asked if Gatomon was friends with Agumon.

*How does she know Agumon? Could she be the eighth source?*

Gatomon followed cautiously. The woman noticed her but smiled gently and left the door open to her home—as if inviting Gatomon inside.
