Seven Ring: First Stage Vol. 2

Chapter 10 – The Yellow Gate of Despair

Our story begins from where the previous chapter ended.

The people of the city were terrified because the last time a Yellow S-Rank gate opened, the entire city was destroyed by monsters.

Because of this, a Red Alert had been issued.

The commander's name was announced — Johan.

Leader Johan said:

"Call all our guild members near the city."

Zoya:

"I will go with you too, leader."

Johan (angrily):

"No, you will not go. Your condition is not stable. We already have many hunters to fight. You must rest. This is my order!"

Zoya:

"Yes, leader… but you are injured too. And right now, our guild does not have any National-Level Hunter except you."

Johan:

"I know. At this moment, we don't have a single S-Rank Hunter. All of them have gone to another country to clear portals. That is why I must go myself."

Johan:

"Quickly contact other guilds and tell me what they say."

Another Hunter:

"Okay, Guild Leader."

Johan:

"I will check the station area."

Johan quickly flew away from there.

Zoya (thinking):

"Was I the one who was supposed to get injured? My master is the one who is hurt the most… yet I can't do anything.

Today, I feel completely helpless."

Writer's Explanation

Why is everyone so afraid?

Gates are divided into eight ranks:

A-Rank

B-Rank

C-Rank

D-Rank

E-Rank

S-Rank

SS-Rank

SSS-Rank

Each rank is further divided into three types:

Red Gate: A normal gate with low danger.

Yellow Gate: Extremely dangerous. Monsters inside are ten times stronger than normal ones.

Black Gate: The most dangerous type. Even an E-Rank gate can contain S-Rank level monsters inside.

The writer explains that the gate which opened is a Yellow Gate, which makes it highly dangerous.

Now the explanation ends and the original story continues.

Outside the Gate

No one could enter or leave the gate.

Only monsters could come out.

No one knew what rank monster would appear.

All that was known was that an S-Rank Gate had opened.

The military was scanning the gate.

A Soldier:

"We can't detect what kind of monster is inside."

Johan:

"What is the status?"

Soldier:

"It's very bad, Guild Master.

We still don't know what rank of monster is inside."

Johan:

"Evacuate the civilians immediately and prepare all weapons."

Soldier:

"Understood, Guild Master."

Suddenly, seven S-Rank hunters arrived.

Johan:

"Where is your Guild Leader?"

Hunter Been:

"Our leader is busy and cannot come. We came in his place.

He said if the situation goes out of control, we should retreat."

Johan (angrily):

"That bastard Kimna is taking advantage of our weakness.

He is playing politics at a time like this."

"Tell me, what does your leader want in exchange for helping me?"

Hunter Been:

"He wants that weapon."

Johan (furious):

"You are trash!

And you didn't even tell me which weapon you are talking about!"

Hunter Been:

"Guild Master Johan, this is a good deal for you.

The team that entered the gate was led by your son.

That's why you are here."

Johan grabbed Hunter Been by the throat.

Johan:

"I am not so weak that I can't look a filthy man like you in the eyes.

Your guild is called Justice Guild, but all of you are nothing but parasites who take advantage of others!"

"Get out of my sight!"

Johan was deeply worried about his son.

Johan (in his heart):

"I know the chances of survival inside are almost zero…

My son, please stay alive."

Justice Guild Leader's Scene

The Justice Guild Leader was in a room with many women, enjoying himself.

After finishing, he killed them because his power was too much for them to bear.

Justice Guild Leader:

"Dispose of their bodies.

They were too weak.

Next time, bring me a stronger hunter."

Another Person:

"Yes, Master."

Justice Guild Leader:

"Find out where that weapon is.

As soon as we know, we will attack."

Another Person:

"Understood, Master."

Inside the Gate

The inside of the gate was unnaturally silent.

No wind.

No monster cries.

Not even the sound of breathing.

Every hunter felt it — something was watching them.

Navi:

"I'll go and check."

Before anyone could stop him, a strange sound echoed through the corridor…

Tap… tap… tap…

Footsteps.

Everyone turned in that direction at once.

Swords were drawn.

Guns were raised.

Magic circles began to glow.

Sweat rolled down their faces.

Navi (thinking):

"Whatever is coming… its power is far beyond them.

They won't survive.

I don't even know my own limits.

The system threw me into this world without explaining anything.

And I can't use my powers in front of them…"

Then, from the darkness…

A green figure slowly stepped forward.

It was short.

Thin.

But its presence crushed the air.

A Goblin.

Its eyes were glowing like poisonous fire.

A twisted smile stretched across its face.

In its hand was a rusted blade…

covered in fresh blood.

The goblin lifted the weapon…

and slowly licked the blood from it.

Slurp.

The sound echoed like a curse.

No one moved.

No one breathed.

Some hunters' hands started shaking.

Others felt their knees weaken.

The goblin tilted its head and laughed.

"Hehehe…"

Its voice was dry and broken, like bones scraping together.

The pressure in the air became unbearable.

Navi (thinking):

"This is bad…

This thing is not normal."

The goblin took one more step forward.

And in that moment…

Everyone understood one thing —

This monster was here to kill.
