Resistance works.
As long as we work together, knocking these monsters down won't be a problem!
The other Evil Seeds were stunned.
The resistance in the previous dorms had been pathetic. They hadn't expected this at all!
Faced with the towering Jessica Williams wielding a weapon, the crowd of low and intermediate Evil Seeds stood there, bewildered.
Jessica Williams swung the iron stool with all her might, shouting at the top of her lungs: "Damn it, I thought they were tough! Is that all you got? Sisters, fight with me! I'm going to beat these rotten fish and stinking shrimp into pulp!"
Seeing Jessica Williams take down the leader of the monsters with one hit, the girls behind her felt a surge of confidence.
They grabbed their weapons and fought back with everything they had.
Watching more and more Evil Seeds get knocked down, victory seemed within reach.
Liam Thomas frowned, dodging attacks from several girls while his eyes locked onto the behemoth in the crowd.
He thought the girls" dorm was full of fragile kittens. He didn't expect a tigress.
They had been careless; none of them had weapons.
Fighting bare-handed against a remarkably strong woman armed with an iron chair... the odds were low.
While Liam Thomas was still calculating, Jessica Williams swung the chair viciously toward his head.
Even as the head of the Sports Department, Liam Thomas could only scramble to dodge.
Jessica Williams was winning ground, inspiring confidence in everyone.
But on the floor, the Dean slowly lifted his head to look at her. A chilling sneer spread across his ghastly, pale face.
Even though his head had been smashed into a bloody crater, brain tissue visible inside, he slowly crawled back up. His eyes held a look of extreme, frantic hatred and wanton bloodlust.
…
The Dean had thought he was finished a moment ago, too.
But he quickly realized, it didn't hurt!
It was just a head injury.
His body no longer seemed to rely on these organs to sustain life. Or rather, he no longer belonged to the category of "life."
More and more of the monsters Jessica Williams had knocked down began to crawl back up, just like the Dean.
Knocked down, stand up. Knocked down again, stand up again.
Even with their necks snapped, even with their heads battered and bloody.
They still rose, throwing themselves at Jessica Williams with even greater madness.
These Evil Seeds were learning. With every one of Jessica Williams's attacks, they formulated a new plan of offense.
Soon, the sisters behind Jessica Williams were bitten.
The girls who had been fighting monsters alongside her just minutes ago now stood on the opposing side. With blood-drenched mouths, they lunged at her viciously.
Jessica Williams's counterattacks grew weaker and weaker, the despair and helplessness in her eyes deepening with every blow.
She couldn't win.
These monsters... they have no weaknesses.
...
Emma Smith gently pulled open her door, silently poking her head out to check the situation.
The corridor before her looked as if it had been doused in blood.
Everything in sight was a blinding, stinging crimson.
The hallway was a river of blood, the thick liquid flowing lazily over the scattered corpses.
Jessica Williams was resisting the horde alone, her strength fading fast.
Emma Smith glanced sideways. The stairwell was just to her left.
A few steps, and she could disappear around the corner of the stairs.
The Evil Seeds nearby were all busy enjoying the feast of blood at Jessica Williams's end. No monster would notice her.
With the monsters distracted by attacking Jessica Williams, this was the perfect time to run.
Emma Smith looked back at Jessica Williams, who was roaring in despair.
The surrounding blood-red Evil Seeds dragged their disgusting, broken bodies toward her like a landslide, threatening to bury her in death.
Emma Smith looked at Jessica Williams, then at the exit.
Her hope was right within reach!
Better a dead friend than a dead me.
I will remember your great kindness and virtue; I swear I'll burn paper money for your spirit...
She clenched her fists, but her feet refused to lift. She stood rooted to the spot.
So many people have died already. What does one more matter?
I can't save anyone anyway. My own survival is the priority. How can I worry about others?
She made excuses for herself, over and over in her mind.
But after a minute of internal struggle, she took one last look in Jessica Williams's direction.
Then, she lifted her leg and ran, straight back into her dorm room.
She looked at the shoe rack, grabbed a pair of high-quality rubber rain boots belonging to god-knows-who, and pulled them on. Using disposable chopsticks from the cafeteria, she picked up an electrical wire and switched on the wall's power supply.
Gripping the wire, Emma Smith walked out of the dorm and stood in the center of the bloody river in the hallway.
Her eyes fixed on the Evil Seeds blocking the path ahead.
So far, the horde hadn't noticed her.
"Jessica Williams, get back in your room!" Emma Smith shouted at the top of her lungs.
All the Evil Seeds whipped their heads around to look at her in unison.
Their crimson eyes were filled with the thirst for slaughter. They were already completely enraged by Jessica Williams.
Emma Smith stood in the pool of blood, carrying a backpack half the size of her body, clutching a thin electrical wire. Her legs were trembling uncontrollably.
Emma Smith had wanted to leave her most heroic silhouette for the surveillance cameras in her final moments.
But right now, her expression was uglier than if she were crying. Facing hundreds of frenzied Evil Seeds, she really couldn't summon any coolness.
Seeing Emma Smith, a look of utter disbelief washed over Jessica Williams's despairing face.
In such an extreme situation, someone had actually come to save her.
Jessica Williams couldn't believe it; her eyes reddened involuntarily.
"Don't just stand there dazed, get the hell back inside!" Emma Smith's voice quivered.
