Now...
It was already night when Shallot woke up to the sound of a spaceship landing.
Shallot stands up and sees a 1.60-meter-tall man with his famous receding hairline emerge from the ship, followed by a child with blue hair resembling John Connor.
A woman with long blue hair was exiting the ship and she was looking at Shallot.
Shallot knew very well who those people were: Vegeta, Trunks, and Bulma.
Vegeta then asks:
"Hey! Is what Piccolo told us true?"
Shallot then replies:
"Yes, in a year Kakarot will come with Nappa and end all life on this planet."
Vegeta then looks at Bulma and says:
"See? Piccolo wasn't lying, I can't enlist in a formal job when Earth is in danger."
Bulma, in turn, responds with a certain malice:
"So, no more showering together. After this, you'll be, even if it's just a janitor at Capsule Corporation, a formal job, not what the gossip newspapers say about you."
Vegeta then replies, somewhat angrily.
"I am now a prince of a warrior race! I must not work on any case! It is my warrior's honor!"
Vegeta and Bulma begin to discuss work, and she mentions her ex-boyfriend, who is a famous football player, something that Shallot heard impressed because he remembered Yamcha being a Baseball player.
Little Trunks stared intently at Shallot; he wasn't a warrior yet, just a somewhat lonely child.
Shallot then clears his throat, thus drawing the attention of Vegeta and Bulma, and explains:
"Okay, now that I have your attention, I'll explain that you are the crown prince of Planet Vegeta, but there is a Saiyan who aspires to be the new prince of the Saiyan race. His name is Kakarot, a low-class Saiyan but son of the legendary warrior Bardock, and his goal is to kill you, Vegeta, and become the new prince of the Saiyans. We have exactly one year before this planet is invaded; it's time to make a plan to save it."
Vegeta is thrilled; finally, he'll have a truly strong opponent, unlike Piccolo, who was far behind him, making all the fights predictable and boring.
Then Vegeta clenches his fist, wearing his traditional white gloves, and says:
"I hope he's strong, because the enemies I've faced in my whole life were weak; the only one who holds up is Piccolo, but even he I could have killed several times over."
Shallot then replies:
"He is, don't worry about that, worry about not dying when you face him."
Trunks approaches Shallot and asks:
"Mr. Chayote, if my father is a prince of the Saiyans, what am I in that hierarchy?"
Shallot looks at Trunks and sees great potential in that boy, who appears to be being trained by Vegeta.
Then Shallot replies:
"You, young boy, are the Count of the Saiyans, you can proudly claim that."
Trunks then becomes happy and throws a few punches in the air.
Shallot then walks over to Bulma and Vegeta and asks:
"Where are the other warriors?"
Bulma then replies:
"Unlike that slacker, the other warriors have jobs or have focused on becoming masters of martial arts. Krillin is a police chief, Yamcha is a famous football player, Tien focused on martial arts and already has a family, which is exactly why they aren't here. But they probably know what happened here and at some point they'll get together."
Vegeta gets a little annoyed but takes a deep breath and asks:
"What do you gain by joining us?"
Shallot then replies:
"Kakarot is completely insane; hitting his head as a child was a prelude to the madman he is. I have many stories from the missions I went on with Kakarot, most of them would be considered horror stories, even by Saiyan standards. I prefer to fight alongside you and the Earthlings than to side with that insane being, but there is someone even worse than him, and I will reveal who that someone is at the opportune moment."
Bulma then says to Shallot:
"How about you come with us to Capsule Corporation? There are several rooms there, and you can sleep in one of them."
Shallot then replies:
"Well, I have nowhere to live, and since you're the richest woman on the planet, I accept."
Vegeta agrees to have a member of his race, and Trunks is delighted to have someone to befriend outside his family circle.
Then Shallot gets into the ship and Bulma activates the controls, soon everyone gets out and flies towards West City.
