Silas decided that staying with the girl wouldn't kill him. "I believe I haven't introduced myself yet , my name is Eleanor." She had a mature way of presenting herself. If she weren't so petite he would have considered her an adult ." If I recall correctly, you also haven't started the purpose of your visit" Silas said in a teasing tone.
" I guess I haven't been doing my job properly then", she said in a sarcastic way. "Long story short I came to recruit you" Eleanor Stated.
"Wouldn't the government be pissed if they find out "Silas asked. "Yeah, but as I said government cannot interfere with the decision taken by our organisation. We have autonomy upto an extent.
"What kind of works do you do? if you are recruiting me ,you should say it right" Silas asked. Eleanor was hesitant to answer "you know it's usually stuff like illegal dealings sometimes it can go as far as to eliminate a person "after saying this she paused for a while.
"You don't have to join it if you don't want to. It's filled with people who don't have any other choice. Once you enter your won't be able to leave it , so it's better to stay out of it" she said. Silas looked at her, he understood her words were genuine. "You will be punished if you let me escape" he replied. "I don't like forcing people " she didn't deny what he said."thanks "he said it was almost a whisper. Just as he was about to leave, the bushes started rustling violently, someone else had followed them.
Two men emerged out of the bushes and fired at Silas. Eleanor reacted first,she pulled him close to and made a shield with her ability. Silas looked at her, she was completely different from how she was before.
(Eleanor's ability allows her to manipulate the shadows around her by materialising .
Them. She can turn them into weapons of her choice.
She is also able to create a subspace using the shadows and move through them.)
She turned to Silas and asked him to open a portal. He did exactly as he was told, but before they could step into the portal, a vine emerged from the ground. It wrapped itself around their legs and dragged them back to the men. One of them was a ability user . Without saying anything the man aimed his gun towards them, instead of bullets it had anaesthetics in it.
Eleanor used her ability and removed the vines of them . He shot again but this time at Eleanor, but she disappeared. The man was confused he was sure she was right there seconds ago. The men looked at eachother, they decided that they would deal with Silas first. The man aimed his gun at Silas , just then a vine made from shadows wrapped itself around Silas's leg and took him into the air . The men were dumbfounded
Eleanor emerged from the shadows . She was able to merge with the shadows. The men turned their attention towards Eleanor. Eleanor looked cool despite the situation it showed her experience. She analysed them and came to conclusion ,that she won't be able to take them down herself, if she went head on. She brought Silas down from the air. Just as the men were analysing the situation, she grabbed Silas arms and ran towards the forest. The men were dumbfounded once more , they thought she would come at them one on one. The men started chasing them. "Umm... we won't be able to outrun them, like this." Silas told her as if he was telling her a fun fact . "I know" she replied casually matching his energy.
" When I clear them off
open a portal alright "she told him as if he was a child. They entered the forest the man used his ability and a giant vine emerged from the ground blocking their way. Eleanor simply went inside the ground along with the shadows leaving him alone. The men caught up to them ,this time Silas was standing alone . They realised it was a trap and tried to use theirs abilities, but before that Eleanor emerged from the shadows and knocked the ability user out.
The second man was sharp and escape before she attack him . He tried shooting her, but she used her ability, vines made with shadows wrapped itself around him rendering him immobilized.
Silas was impressed ,the girl in front of him wasn't older than he was, but she was experienced with this. Silas opened a portal and the both of them got out of the area.
Silas who was dying of boredom thought following her might be fun, "I'll go with you" he said. "I told you it's dangerous right" Eleanor asked him, as if confirming he was in his right mind accepting her proposal. Silas knew the dangers . He was accepting it because he wanted to do something. He realised that the things he used to find joy in were all empty to him now, even when he was getting chased he didn't feel fear like a normal person would. All of these where already eating him from the inside. He wanted to ease the emptiness inside him ,that's why he decided he'll join her organisation.
He didn't say what was going inside his mind he simply said "I'm joining."
