Tonight,I snuck out.This wasn't my first time.I sometimes took Nate out because the royal life can be boring.There was a stall selling candied apples so I went over there to buy one.A kid grabbed my snack which left me shocked.I chased him until he was completely cornered.
Forget about the candied apples.What is a 11 year old doing stealing. "Hi. How are you? I just wanted to talk for a bit.Is that okay?"He nodded which made me smile.
"What's your name?"
"Oliver"
"Oliver huh.Why were you stealing?"
He hesitated for a moment before replying,"My brother and father both lost their lives in the war and my mother is sick."
"You were hungry,is that it? Come with me,let me buy you some food". I stretched my hand out for Oliver but he was a bit apprehensive.We walked around town whiles I bought him some clothes and food.He told me about how war had destroyed his family.A boy his age shouldn't have to go through all of this."Sorry for stealing",
The look on his face was so cute it made me laugh. "You don't have to apologize. Why don't you come work with me?"I said before I realized what I was saying.The boy's face instantly brightened at the thought of an opportunity to make more money.
"Yes", he said with no regard about his safety.

When I entered the room with Oliver, Caleb was already there."I had a feeling you would sneak out. Also who is that?"
"He is my guest Oliver. Marcella,please take care of him."I said and dismissed them both.It was finally left with him and I."Have you come to say goodbye?"I asked.

"Well, what else can I do? When I snuck out, that boy I met—Oliver, he lost his father and brother and now has to take care of his sick mother at just 11 all because of a war we could end now.The people deserve better.Our sister deserves better.Imagine how she feels terrified and alone.
He let out a sigh at my words, saying, "Fine.I'll convince father to let you get married. Go to bed you look like an old hag.",which me made me throw my pillow at him.After Caleb left I decided to sleep.
Darkness surrounded me then, pale body which belonged to Nate started talking, "Why didn't you save me".It's cold hands touch me making me shiver. "I didn't want to die"
I woke up screaming and covered in my own sweat.The guilt from Nate's death still weighed heavily on my shoulders.
Today I would be meeting Father and Mother to discuss my marriage to the vampire prince.Caleb assured me that he would talk to him.After getting dressed in a black dress,I headed downstairs for breakfast. I couldn't bring myself to eat anything aside from a slice of bread because siting at the table brought back memories of Nate. Tears threatened to spill as I sat across from where Nate usually sat.
