Bella's POV
I clenched my fists until my knuckles went white, grinding my teeth with a fury I'd never experienced before. This murderous rage threatened to devour me whole, burning hotter than anything I'd ever felt.
One singular thought consumed my mind—I would make them pay for what they did to Elsie.
I'll make those bastards suffer a thousand times over for hurting her, I swore silently.
Elsie shook her head frantically, terror written across her battered features as she struggled to speak through her sobs. "N-No—"
She was terrified I wouldn't survive going up against whoever did this to her.
"Don't be scared, Elsie," I said, gripping her shoulders tight, my eyes burning with determination. "I can handle myself now, and I swear I'll get justice for you. Tell me—who was it?"
Though a face already flickered through my mind, I needed to hear her confirm it.
