Bella's POV
Lucius's voice cut through the air like ice, his fury so raw I could practically feel it burning against my skin.
He stood there like some betrayed husband catching his wife in an affair.
But what right did he have to act this way?
I let out a bitter laugh, contempt flooding my gaze. "How pathetic," I said, the words dripping with disdain.
When I'd loved Lucius with everything I had, he'd treated me like garbage beneath his feet.
Now that I'd finally walked away, he was clinging like some desperate parasite.
If this wasn't pathetic, what was?
I wrenched my hand from his grip, straightened my spine, and fixed him with a mocking smile. "Out of respect for what we once had, I never wanted to pull rank," I said coolly, "But since things have changed between us, you should show me the respect I deserve."
