Amara's POV
Truth was, Morgana got off easy.
I might appear distant and reserved, keeping to myself, but my temper runs hot beneath the surface. Forgiveness isn't exactly my strong suit.
Back in my younger days, I could've easily killed someone over something petty.
I've gotten better at keeping myself in check since then.
"You... you..." Morgana hit the ground, shaking with fury.
I was heading upstairs when Seraphine came barreling down, her voice piercing. "Amara, how dare you strike my mother?"
Seraphine charged down and glared at me with burning eyes. "Someone help! Are you all brain-dead? This little witch just attacked my mom in our own home, and none of you did anything."
The staff came running at the commotion. They froze, clearly torn about what to do.
An older maid who'd worked for the Elands for years stepped forward nervously and murmured to Seraphine, "Miss Hopper, perhaps we should wait for Mr. Hopper to return before dealing with this?"
