Fear gripped Rosy. She closed her bedroom door, her heart pounding. Broken windows, a cold wind billowing the curtains.
Kai had left. And Victor was nowhere to be found.
Rosy rummaged through the right-hand drawer, her hands trembling. She found a USB drive hidden behind an old folded photograph.
In the picture, she could see that she was younger and smiling in Ranbir's arms.
They were wearing the uniform of the Rose Guard.
And a message had been written on the back of the photo:
"Forever. Until the end."
Rosy felt fear rising within her for the first time. She connected my key to the computer.
The screen displayed crumpled files.
She found a file labeled:
"K.M. file". She opens the file and a video appears.
She began to act it out. The image showed a dark room, masked people, and in the center... herself tied to a chair.
Victor's voice rang out:
"Inject the dose. Let's see if she survives."
The video continues to play: Rosy screamed and struggled, then her gaze became empty, like a soulless body.
The camera then shows Victor leaning towards her, whispering something in her ear.
"If you manage to survive, I will find you. But if you die, I will forget you."
The video ends there. A tear rolled down Rosy's cheek. Sudden memories come flooding back to her: the mission, the betrayal, the fire.
And Ranbir was part of this plan. Rosy, angry and in tears, overturned the chair next to her.
Memories flew through his mind.
"Why... but why me?" she cried.
"Because you were the only one who could survive." A voice said from behind her.
Rosy turned around. Victor was standing near the door, a pistol in his hand.
"Comme ça tu as decouvert la verité"! He said calmly.
"So tell me, Rosy..." He walked towards her.
"Now that you know who you are... will you kiss me?"
Victor raised his weapon as if aiming.
"Or will you kill me?"
