Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Hell's Stairs

Heavy rain pounded the dark plains of the Homur underground kingdom. Lightning flashed silently, leaving only the scent of blood and uncooled ash. Amid the ruins of low-rank demon homes stood a small two-horned girl her body covered in dust and burns. Her name was Yai Homur.

Once, she was just the child of a servant family from the lowest demon caste, living under the tyranny of nobles. Her father was burned alive for supposedly defying orders, while her mother was sacrificed for a ritual to boost Demon King Vaw's power.

From that day forward, Yai lost her smile. The world became a place without color or direction… only two choices remained: survive, or vanish along with the ashes of the past.

For years, she lived in the underground ruins mimicking the movements of shadow hunters, stealing food from enemy camps, and learning magic only from charred, leftover books.

But the stronger she grew, the more she realized… her power never truly increased.

Every bit of energy she absorbed simply vanished, siphoned away by something unseen. Eventually, she discovered the truth: Demon King Vaw had placed a curse seal on the entire Homur bloodline, ensuring none of them could ever rebel.

Yai tried to escape countless times, but each time she looked at the starless underground sky, a voice echoed in her head:

"You will never be free, little Homur. You were born to serve."

The voice was no dream it belonged to Vaw himself, a sign the curse was etched into her very soul.

But one night, when a blood moon hung in the black sky, Yai stared at her own hands and whispered:

"If I can't be free… at least I'll live long enough to watch them regret it."

From that moment on, she fought in the demon arenas killing only to survive, surviving only to avoid being forgotten. Every victory was not pride, but a pile of growing regret.

Then… that night came.

The arena burned. The underground sky collapsed.

Yai saw a strange light in the distance not fire, but light from the world above.

And within that light… appeared a man and a dark-haired woman, their eyes holding nothing but terrifying calm.

They were Reiji and Mijarun.

For Yai, that meeting was not fate, but an impossibility that gave her reason to keep living.

Footsteps echoed softly along the massive stone stairs leading to the palace peak. The walls were carved with weeping demon faces each carving seemed alive, staring sharply at anyone brave enough to pass.

Reiji walked ahead with steady steps, his eyes glinting faintly dark blue, a cold aura wrapping around his body. Behind him, Mijarun stood ready with healing light magic, while Yai gripped two daggers trembling with darkness energy.

"Don't retreat," Reiji's voice was low but deep.

"Who would want to retreat, Brother?" Mijarun replied with a faint smile.

Yai took a breath. "I'm ready."

But before they could take another step

💥BOOM!

A massive explosion shook the stairs, and from a blood-red haze emerged dozens of black-armored guards with glowing red eyes, wielding flaming spears.

"Intruders!"

"Protect King Vaw's throne!"

The corridor immediately erupted with bursts of fire and flashes of magic!

The Battle Begins

Reiji raised his hand, and the air around him suddenly trembled like cracked glass.

"Omni-Aether Pulse Mode."

In an instant, the entire space around him seemed to stop; blue energy blades sliced through the air and pierced three guards at once silently.

Their bodies froze… then crumbled into particles of light.

Yai ran along the right side, moving as fast as a shadow.

She kicked off the wall, leaped over the guards, and spun her glowing red daggers.

"Dark Fang Waltz!"

The wild spinning attack sliced through three guards before they could react. Black blood splattered across the already broken stone stairs.

Meanwhile, Mijarun leaped to the center.

"Light Barrier: Seraphic Bloom!"

White rays burst forth like glowing flower petals, deflecting all fire-arrow attacks heading their way.

But just then, Yai was struck by a swing from a guard who'd managed to get close. A deep wound opened on her shoulder, and she staggered.

"Yai!" Mijarun cried out, looking at her brother.

Reiji said nothing he simply moved forward quickly, his left hand shifting into dark energy before sweeping through the air.

"Collapse Drive."

A sound like shattering glass echoed loudly. The entire space before them cracked and folded in on itself.

Every guard within range vanished no trace of them left, not even shadows.

Mijarun rushed to Yai, holding her shoulder and channeling golden healing energy.

"Heal Flow: Hikari Spiral!"

Light swirled around them, slowly closing Yai's wound.

Yai gasped but smiled. "Thank you… I'm not ready to stop yet."

Mijarun smiled gently. "Good. Because the battle has only just begun."

Second Corridor: Magic Storm

As they reached the next corridor, hundreds of magic arrows shot from the walls.

Reiji reacted instantly creating a small Dimensional Rift in the air that swallowed all projectiles and reflected them back to their source.

"You thought I couldn't shoot back, huh?" he said coldly.

Dozens of guards fell at once. But from the magic haze emerged a massive Captain Guard, wielding a spiked chain weapon with the Vaw kingdom symbol emblazoned on his chest.

"Surrender your heads!" he roared, swinging the chain at Reiji.

The chain smashed into the ground BOOM! The stone stairs shattered, dust obscuring all sight.

But behind the dust, Reiji had vanished.

"Behind you."

In an instant, Reiji appeared in the air behind the captain, then kicked him with superhuman force sending him crashing into the stone wall and shattering it to pieces.

Meanwhile, Mijarun and Yai worked together against the next wave of guards.

Mijarun shot light arrows upward.

"Light Arrow: Scatter Nova!"

Yai immediately used the opening to slip through the bursts of light like a shadow demon. Her daggers danced.

One by one, guards fell to quick, precise movements.

"I won't stay silent anymore. I'm not their servant."

"Good, Yai," Reiji said, staring straight ahead. "Now… it's time to move up."

Staircase Battle's End

After nearly an hour of brutal fighting, the final corridor lay in complete ruins.

Three figures stood at the edge of the now-burning, crumbling stairs Reiji in the center, Yai and Mijarun at his sides.

The dark sky above the kingdom opened up, bathing them in purple light of destruction.

Before them… stood three Demon Generals, their thick auras and power weighing down the air.

Mijarun took a deep breath.

Yai gripped her daggers tightly.

And Reiji simply smiled a small, calm smile full of resolve.

"Coming up here wasn't just a test."

"This is a call to war."

A heavy wind blew, carrying scents of blood and sulfur.

The Vaw kingdom's sky cracked open, forming a massive purple vortex above their heads.

Three figures emerged from the black haze, standing atop the ruins of the stone gate:

Fuklon – clad in dark red armor, eyes gleaming deep blue, wielding a long sword glowing blood-red.

Heimon - massive in stature, carrying dual flaming axes, his aura seething with heat.

Gatou - long white hair, wielding two short swords, every step creating cracks in the air.

Reiji closed his eyes, his breathing calm but the air around him began to tremble.

"You're still alive, Fuklon…"

Fuklon grinned wryly, his gaze sharp.

"Death wouldn't claim me before I cut you down, Reiji."

Reiji vs Fuklon

In an instant, both shadows vanished.

The sound of clashing metal rang out from all directions far too fast for ordinary eyes to follow.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

They exchanged blows in the air, their speed breaking the sound barrier.

Reiji's Dark Red Light collided with Fuklon's red aura, creating energy waves that shattered surrounding walls and floors.

Reiji spun quickly, his hand darting to form a rune symbol in the air.

"Chrono Rift Slash!"

Time around Fuklon slowed drastically but Fuklon smiled.

"You think I'm the same as before?"

Fuklon swung his sword fast enough to defy time itself.

The blade's wave pierced through the distortion and nearly grazed Reiji's face.

Reiji dodged with extraordinary reflexes, spinning in the air and kicking Fuklon hard in the chest.

The energy explosion sent them flying back 50 meters, crashing into the rubble.

Reiji wiped a trickle of blood from his lip, then spoke coldly:

"Then… let's see who can still stand at time's end."

⚡ They charged again.

This time faster than ever their shadows clashing like colliding lightning bolts.

Reiji unleashed the Void Cascade a wave of dark energy that devoured the air.

Fuklon countered with Infernal Vortex Blade a dense, spinning fire tornado that exploded!

💥 BOOOOM!

The entire upper staircase shattered. Stones flew everywhere, dust blotting out the sky.

In the middle of the smoke, Reiji appeared directly behind Fuklon and struck straight at his back.

Fuklon blocked but Reiji had already read his move.

"Dimensional Reversal."

The strike reversed their positions in an instant.

Fuklon's blood sprayed out.

Yet he still laughed.

"Good… now, feel mine."

Fuklon raised his sword high.

"Hellstream Reign!!"

The sky burst red! Thousands of fire swords rained down like a storm.

Reiji looked up, then took a long breath.

"Limit Mode… Zero Core Release."

The blue light from his body shifted to pure, blinding white but terrifying.

He struck once. Only once.

💥💥💥

Every fire sword vanished.

And in the next split second

Fuklon was split in two by the time slash.

His body crumbled to ash, leaving one final line:

"You truly… were that monster of time…"

Reiji stood amid the debris, his hair loose, eyes gleaming softly.

"And you're just the past."

Mijarun & Yai vs Heimon & Gatou

Meanwhile, the other two generals faced off against Mijarun and Yai.

Heimon's fire burned through the entire corridor, while Gatou moved as fast as lightning.

"You're just children playing at war," Heimon scoffed.

Mijarun raised her magic staff, her eyes glowing golden.

"I'm the child who'll bury you."

Heimon swung his axes hard!

But Mijarun summoned a Divine Barrier, reflecting the fire into the sky.

Yai immediately darted past him from behind, slashing Heimon's wrist until it cracked.

"Did you forget we're a team."

Heimon roared, unleashing a massive wave of fire. But Mijarun had already called forth a great spell:

"Celestial Burst!"

A massive white beam descended from the sky, piercing Heimon's body until he exploded into pieces.

As ash scattered, Mijarun caught Heimon's head, staring at him coldly with a dark golden aura.

"Where is Ashia…?" she said in a low, terrifying voice.

The head remained silent.

"Answer me!"

Her eyes flared and crack! 💀

She crushed the head with her bare hand.

Meanwhile, Yai fought Gatou.

They moved as fast as shadow and light.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Gatou kicked Yai hard enough to send her flying but she dug her daggers into the wall, spun around, and landed. Her breathing was heavy.

"You're quick too, kid," Gatou said with a wry smile.

"I'm not a kid. I'm Reiji's student."

Yai activated Shadow Pulse Mode. Her body was wrapped in shimmering dark aura.

She ran through the air dodging, spinning, and striking at the last moment.

"Phantom Split - Final Edge!"

Three shadows of Yai appeared at once, striking from different directions.

Gatou couldn't block them all.

His swords shattered, his chest pierced through.

Yai stood behind him, her daggers stained with blood.

"Rest in emptiness."

Gatou's body collapsed, crumbling to ash with a gust of wind.

Path to the Demon King

The dust began to settle.

The three demon generals Fuklon, Heimon, and Gatou were gone without a trace.

The stairs to the throne were now silent, only their breathing audible.

Reiji walked slowly, his shoulder slightly smoking from Fuklon's attack.

He looked at his two students calmly.

"Are you both alright?"

Mijarun smiled gently, still holding her staff.

"I'm fine, Brother."

Yai stared ahead with a serious but determined face.

"I'm fine too… Master."

Reiji nodded slightly.

The air before them began to tremble.

Heavy sounds echoed from behind the massive doors at the top of the stairs.

"So at last… you've made it."

The great black doors slowly opened, revealing a tall figure crowned with horns, his red eyes glowing bright.

Demon King Vaw.

His power aura was so immense the floor beneath them shook.

And Reiji only whispered softly…

"Time to end all of this."
