Chapter 67 - 65 Reconciliation

"Were you crying?" The girl in the front seat, screeched, gesturing with her straw-like arms which looked more like bones coated with a thin layer of skin. Her presence caught me off guard since she'd been avoiding me for close to a month.

Seeing her after so long, her voice couldn't have been more of a contrast to her appearance. Whereas she sounded like a tough intimidating woman who could bring you to your knees with just a glance, she was physically quite the opposite.

Her face was deathly pale, like she used flour as makeup, not to mention the dark bags under her eyes—which looked like they might fall back into her sockets if she blinked too hard.

With the evidence right in front of me, I couldn't help but arrive at the realization. This was how I was supposed to look; ghostly, skeletal… it was how I looked up until about a month ago. The difference was too jarring to ignore, and it took seeing my best friend/sister after what felt like ages to notice.
